Halloween's over but you can still scare yourself witless with this VR recreation of Amnesia




There are some things in life that I admire but can't claim to properly understand. These include the literary works of James Joyce, the vegan lifestyle, and people who want to play incredibly scary games in VR. I like horror games, but there's a limit on my tolerance, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent landed right on that limit when it slithered out of Frictional Games' culvert a terrifying thirteen years ago. Total Conversion support

Hey everyone,

Hope you have been trying out and enjoying the recent Steam Workshop support for Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

There are already over 180 (!) mods available to try out - this is truly insane and we are so happy to see the community engaged after all these years!

So, today we’re enabling Total Conversion support for the workshop as well, meaning you can go buck wild with the mods, if you want to.

Today we’re also launching the anticipated Halloween Update for Amnesia: The Bunker!

This update brings a bunch of new features, adding new horrors and heaps of replay value.

If you've beaten the game once you can challenge yourself with the new Shell Shock mode - or play around with the settings in Custom Mode.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent Redux mod adds Vulkan and DirectX 12 support

Well this is quite fun to see. Amnesia: The Dark Descent has gained a Redux mod that rebuilds the graphics engine behind the game to provide Vulkan on Linux and DirectX 12 on Windows.
