PUBG Continental Series is getting a fourth event this year

Player Unknown's Battlegrounds' Continental Series is extending its 2020 esports calendar by adding the PUBG Continental Series 3 in November. As with previous tournaments, the Series consists of four regional tournaments, each with a $200,000 prize pool.

The regions remain the same as in Series 2, meaning matches in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Asia will feature in PCS 3. A statement from the tournament cited "overwhelming fan support" as the driving factor behind the addition of an extra Continental Series in 2020. As well as the new tournament, Series 2 has also been extended, with the Grand Finals featuring 24 matches per region, four matches per day, played over the course of three weeks.

A qualifying stage has also been added for Series 2, which will begin on August 7 and conclude by August 16. In the European series, FaZe Clan, TSM, Team Liquid, ENCE, Natus Vincere, and Raise Your Edge are amongst the most notable names confirmed.

Pakistan's PUBG ban will remain, despite player pleas

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will continue to be banned in Pakistan, says a statement from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. The PTA has made a statement after a hearing was conducted to review the position of the game, but it has been decided that the ban on the battle royale will not be lifted.

There has been some back and forth recently about whether the game would be permanently banned from Pakistan after the Islamabad High Court ordered the PTA to unblock PUBG earlier this month. This order from the court, however, didn't persuade the PTA to change its mind. In a statement the PTA made on Twitter, the authority says: "Islamabad (July 27, 2020) PTA has issued a detailed order regarding blocking online game PlayerUnknown's Battle Ground [sic] (PUBG).

"The order has been issued in accordance with Islamabad High Court's orders after a hearing conducted by PTA on July 9 and in accordance with the provisions of PECA 2016.

PUBG Sanhok guide: The best places to drop and loot

Every now and then, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds goes back to give one of its old maps some tender loving care. Sanhok, PUBG's luscious jungle map, is the latest to be remastered by the development team and it's made the map more competitive than ever before.

But the jungle isn't what it used to be. Regular tourists will notice that quite a few changes have been made to the 4x4km island, so you'll have to be careful planning your next visit. Bootcamp and Quarry have received reworks in the Sanhok remaster, Docks has been replaced by the Getaway and its party zone, and Ruin now looks more like a temple. Mix in the fact there's now more bridges, narrower rivers, and an armoured loot truck, and there's a whole lot of fun to be had.

So if you're dying to get back into PUBG and explore Sanhok in Season 8 on PC and console, but you don't know where to drop, then we've got you covered.
