Pakistan's PUBG ban will remain, despite player pleas

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will continue to be banned in Pakistan, says a statement from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. The PTA has made a statement after a hearing was conducted to review the position of the game, but it has been decided that the ban on the battle royale will not be lifted.

There has been some back and forth recently about whether the game would be permanently banned from Pakistan after the Islamabad High Court ordered the PTA to unblock PUBG earlier this month. This order from the court, however, didn't persuade the PTA to change its mind. In a statement the PTA made on Twitter, the authority says: "Islamabad (July 27, 2020) PTA has issued a detailed order regarding blocking online game PlayerUnknown's Battle Ground [sic] (PUBG).

"The order has been issued in accordance with Islamabad High Court's orders after a hearing conducted by PTA on July 9 and in accordance with the provisions of PECA 2016.

PUBG Sanhok guide: The best places to drop and loot

Every now and then, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds goes back to give one of its old maps some tender loving care. Sanhok, PUBG's luscious jungle map, is the latest to be remastered by the development team and it's made the map more competitive than ever before.

But the jungle isn't what it used to be. Regular tourists will notice that quite a few changes have been made to the 4x4km island, so you'll have to be careful planning your next visit. Bootcamp and Quarry have received reworks in the Sanhok remaster, Docks has been replaced by the Getaway and its party zone, and Ruin now looks more like a temple. Mix in the fact there's now more bridges, narrower rivers, and an armoured loot truck, and there's a whole lot of fun to be had.

So if you're dying to get back into PUBG and explore Sanhok in Season 8 on PC and console, but you don't know where to drop, then we've got you covered.

PUBG Ranked: Ranks, RP, rulesets, and more

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is one of the best battle royale games out there. Despite being released in 2016, PUBG is still an exciting game that breeds competitiveness among its players. The long-anticipated addition of a proper ranked mode to PUBG should increase that competitiveness as more players than ever before attempt to secure a tasty chicken dinner and climb the ranks.

The new ranked mode, which replaced the old Survival Title system, finally gives PUBG the competitive edge it needs to bring it in line with other online games. While it doesn't have splits like Apex Legends, it does have new content and rulesets tailored to each and every season.

So if you're looking to master the battlefield and win yourself some chicken dinners in Season 8, then you're going to need to know your stuff. Here's everything we know about PUBG ranked, including the different ranks and tiers, RP, rulesets, rank decay, and more.

"Find the Sanhok Four": PUBG Season 8 is about tracking down rogue contestants

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is going to shift the focus to Sanhok in season 8, with a remastered map patrolled by heavily armoured loot trucks. It's also going to provide a deeper look inside the PUBG 'deep lore,' and today we get our first peek at what that really means with a new video called 'The Sanhok Tapes.'

The video shows a PC desktop during a conference call, and it becomes clear that the participants are discussing the Battlegrounds itself - the battle royale games that pit 100 players in a life-or-death battle for survival. There's a lot of money involved, it turns out, and these organisers are viewing rights to wealthy voyeurs who enjoy seeing human beings fight to the death to be the last one standing.

We learn that one of the participants on the call, a bearded fellow in a Hawaiian shirt called Nelson, is the only member of the team currently working 'on site,' in a bunker 30 feet underground somewhere on Sanhok. As you can see in the video, Nelson does not have things quite as under control as he initially believes.
