PUBG Karakin release date: the next map coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

When is the PUBG Karakin release date? PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' next map now has a name, it's called Karakin and it will be the fifth map to drop in PUBG.


The new map has been teased by PUBG Corp for some time now, but has finally been confirmed along with more details including screenshots, a video, and it's incredibly small 2x2 km map dimensions. Set on an island off the coast of North Africa, this desert map is designed for just 64 players and will have structurally weak buildings, designed to collapse from bullet penetration and the upcoming sticky bomb explosions. The map will also feature the Black Zone, missiles that will hail down on randomised parts of the map, changing the layout in each match and flushing out any camping players. The map, as you can see from the video below, has clusters of small buildings and rocky mountains, but an otherwise barren and open setting.

#25.1 Map Service Update

Hello players,

Since the launch of Update 25.1, we've been closely monitoring in-game matchmaking patterns and your invaluable feedback. We've pinpointed a few challenges, especially matchmaking issues linked to the Featured Map queue for specific regions. We've also sensed the general community's concern about missing the refreshed Miramar during certain rotation slots. Given these observations, we've adjusted the Normal Match map rotation for the remainder of Update 25.1 so players can experience Miramar more frequently throughout the update cycle.

* August 17 Update: We initially aimed to operate separate map rotations for random map regions to better cater to player preference, but we have currently identified matchmaking issues in specific random map regions after the live server maintenance. Therefore, to streamline our analysis of this issue, we have consolidated the map rotations as below. (However, based on player preference, we have elevated the match rate for larger maps within random map regions.) We apologize for the confusion.

[/h2]※ Please note that PC players can anticipate map changes every Wednesday at 2 AM UTC, while Console players can expect the same every Thursday at 7 AM UTC.
※ In Random Map regions, each map will have an equal probability of being selected, with a probability of 20%.
