Update Notes By Jun 28 2018

Summary of changes:


  • Edit > Preference > Options 1 > Scene Auto Save. If "Num files in cycle" is more than 0, the program will check scene modified status in regular basis and save the scene with "AUTOSAVE" sufix if scene has been modified since last save.
  • Edit > Options > Boolean Full Connection Lines. If this option is on, full connection lines will be generated on boolean operations. This option will increase the boolean operation time dramatically. It is recommended only use this option if the generated connection lines provide a better result.
  • These features can be hokeyed, Edit > Customize > ...
  • A new basic strealine tool, Increase/Decrease Soft Selection. Drag horizontally to increase or decrease soft selection. While the tool is active, tap Space key to toggle soft selection enabled, Space+Drag to change soft selection curve.
  • Polygon mode > Selection > Project Polygon Selection(Back/Front). Cast rays from selected polygons along their individual normals to select the intercepted polygons.
  • This tool is improved, polygon mode > Geometry > Bridge. Besides creating holes, it can be used to remove geometries on object's edge.
  • Some bug fixings.

Summary of changes:

  • AO and Shadow options are added to this tool, View > Snap Shot > Take snapshot. This makes it possible to do a quick realistic looking rendering.
  • View > Snap Shot > Set/Clear/Toggle ShadowHolder Flag. If ShadowHolder flag is set on an object, when taking snapshot, only the shadow area of the object will be drawn.
  • A new basic streamline tool, Adjust Static MatCap UV Scale. A static matcap can be set by assigning a cube matcap to an individual object. This tool is used to set the uv scale for selected objects by dragging cursor in viewport.
  • View > AO Enabled. This option will drop viewport frame rates sharply due to multiple off screen renderings.
  • View > Fog Enabled.
  • Edit > Preference > Colors > Viewport Colors > Fog.
  • 3 new basic streamline tool, Adjust FogStart/End/Intensity.
  • Value input feature is added to these basic streamline tools, Axis_Move Axis_Rotate Axis_Scale Plane_Scale Tweak_Scale Polygon_Extrude_AverageNormal Polygon_Extrude_PolygonNormal Edge_Extrude_Face Normal_Direction Shell. Once transforming activated, it is possible to type in value then hit Enter key to apply, while mouse button is still being depressed. The input value will be displayed at top-left of viewport.
  • Edit > Preference > General > Manipulator core size.
  • A new basic streamline tool, Border Offset. Move selected border vertices in open edge normal directions.

  • Edit > Options > File Format Options > fbx > Map scene hierarchy to Fbx hierarchy/Map Fbx hierarchy to scene hierarchy. It makes it possible to transfer scene hierarchy between applications.
  • Boolean tool is improved. It is faster and more reliable.
  • Subobject mode > Geometry > Common Command n Tools > Align > Surface Alignment > Offset.
  • Object hierarchy tree view > context menu > Copy.
  • File > Open Object Library > Copy.
  • Library object can be dragged into scene.
  • 3 new basic streamline tools. Generic Tools > Mixed Tools > Paste Object, Paste Object(PositionOnly), Paste Object(RandomOrientation). Paste copied object at snapping point. Drag to scale. 1/2/3 + Drag to rotate X/Y/Z. The source object can be copied in either object library window or object hierarchy window.
  • Edit > Customize > Tools > Common Modeling Shortcut Tools > Paste Object. Paste copied object onto surface under cursor or scene origin. The source object can be copied in either object library window or object hierarchy window.
  • Edit > Preference > Option 2 > Modeling > MatCap assignment undo/redo enabled.
  • Edit > Preference > Option 2 > Modeling > MatCap dragdrop assignment works only on all selected objects.
  • A new option for subobject "Circularize_Selection" streamline basic tool. To cycle edge circle loop direction, tap Alt key.
  • Some bug fixings.
