Total Warhammer 2's Beastmen army gets July reveal, but here's some early speculation

Finally, the Beastmen are getting their due thanks to the final Warhammer 2 DLC pack, The Silence and The Fury. Announced at the start of June, this new expansion will give everyone's favourite faction a much-needed face-lift, as well as introduce new content for the Lizardmen as their nemesis.

According to CA's lead community and social media manager Grace Carroll, the full roster reveal for the new expansion will come next month ahead of the pack's release on July 14, but that hasn't stopped the passionate fans of the Total War subreddit engaging in some wanton speculation.

Unlike other Total War games, Warhammer II has the benefit of being able to look at the Warhammer Fantasy tabletop game to see what miniatures were released for any given faction. There is also a reported leak from the game's Chinese-speaking community that allegedly shows unit cards from the new expansion, although the authenticity of these has yet to be verified. The Beastmen speculation is the more compelling out of the two.

Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters announced for 2022

As the 40K fellowship are known to say, "you'll have my hammer" and also my hammer and that hammer and anything vaguely hammer-shaped hidden in the kitchen cabinet. That's right, Games Workshop hosted their yearly Warhammering announcement event and there was an entire hammer parade. They announced upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, the final DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2, a closed beta for Blood Bowl 3, and a whole hammerful of other things.

The final Total Warhammer 2 DLC means we can all stop dunking on the Beastmen

We've known ever since Warhammer 3 was announced that there would be one final DLC pack for Total War: Warhammer II. What would be coming in that pack has been the subject of much speculation. Plenty of fans want the Beastmen to finally have their due, if only for the rest of the Warhammer fan base to stop dunking on them.

Well, it seems that Sigmar has been listening, because everyone's favourite Warhammer race is finally getting some needed TLC in the newly announced Warhammer 2 DLC - The Silence and The Fury. This final pack will feature the Beastmen, led by Taurox the Brass Bull, and the Lizardmen under Oxyotl the Unseen... and that's about it.

What has been announced today is only a teaser, with more information due "at a later date". It was announced as part of Games Workshop's annual 'Skulls' event, a celebration of all things Warhammer that usually sees digital partners like Creative Assembly - and other license holders such as Slitherine - do something nice for their Warhammer fans. But, hey - at least the Beastmen will stop being the leastmen, finally.
