Greetings, Captains,

We’re getting ready to release our next client update, v9.1.0, and prior to this we need to take Fleet Boss Battles offline for about a week.

Starting on Sunday, 2022-08-28, at 10am ET (14:00 UTC) it will no longer be possible to start any NEW boss battles.

Battles that are in progress at that time will remain available for the duration of their timer, allowing you to complete them.

Fleet Boss Battles will return after the release of v9.1.0 and the forced update that is currently scheduled for Tuesday, September 6.

We apologize for the inconvenience this might cause.

It will be worth the wait as we have many fixes and improvements in store for the feature, such as:
- a fix for traits being grayed out incorrectly
- a change to threshold rewards to ensure everyone participating will be eligible for rewards, destruction rewards included
- an improved experience when selecting crew for a node, including a search function, crew currently in the vault (+ ability to unfreeze directly), and more relevant traits displayed
- the introduction of a fleet wide buff when unlocking a combo chain + an individual reroll ability

Starfleet is looking to increase efficiency on all vessels, but Lt. Commander Docent, already stressed beyond belief, botches essential maintenance on the ship’s computer. The ship is then seized by an outside source and begins firing on other friendly vessels. It’s up to you to rescue the Vancouver with as little damage as possible.

Several of Mariner’s outside pursuits all seem to collide when the Cerritos is seized and a voice broadcast shipwide informs the crew that, in order to earn their freedom, they’ll have to provide entertainment to some less than reputable viewers by surviving the invasion of the ship. As the Cerritos is boarded by mysterious assailants, it’s up to you to find out what’s going on and rescue the crew of the Cerritos!

Following the Cerritos’ near destruction, Captain Freeman is taken to task by Starfleet as a result of her crew members’ erratic behavior, particularly her daughter Mariner’s. She, in turn, decides to accept several menial tasks from Starfleet, both as penance and to instill further discipline in her wayward crew. But with each mundane task encountering its own strange twist, she enlists you to help to keep things in check.

With today’s server release the following changes have been made to the game:

- In Memoriam of Nichelle Nichols, a free behold pack is available in the Time Portal.

- A new collection has been added, ‘Acoustic Vibrations’, for crew with the ‘musician’ trait.

- Fixed an issue where some ships were not displayed properly on some platforms.

Fleet Boss Battles
We heard your feedback regarding the need to limit the ability to start a battle to only Admirals and Officers. This is something we hope to be able to implement for our 9.2.0 client, likewise for the request to see who started a battle.

Regarding our upcoming 9.1.0, we’ll soon have a better idea as to when it will be released.

On top of the buff feature that we previously announced, 9.1.0 should contain fixes and improvements for various issues such as:
- Incorrectly grayed out traits
- Results screen not being shown to all participants
- Removing the ability to start a battle without crew
