Greetings, Captains!

Today we’ve released a new version of our latest client, v8.0.0, on Facebook and Steam (new download required).

With this new version we’re bringing back the expanded Crew Details pop up in the Cryostasis Vault, this time with also an option to unfreeze crew.

We are also taking this opportunity to add some details about v8.0.0 that were missing from our previous communique:

- Inventory and Replicator Changes
At long last all items are now displaying their names!

- Age Gate
To comply with various laws and regulations we’ve introduced an Age Gate to the game.
This only requires you to input your age in numbers, and will only need to be done once (except in case of reinstallation or playing on a new device/platform).

A younger version of Q declares his intention to make more Q to help in the temporal anomaly crisis by romancing and mating with species across the galaxy. Both the present Q and Starfleet officers who have been influenced romantically by stronger beings in this way are opposed to letting a real-life version of Zeus run amok. The younger Q’s plans must be stopped before they even start!

Are you ready for more Q shenanigans?

When a younger version of Q gets it in his head that he can single-handedly repopulate the Q Continuum, it becomes a galactic effort to stop him. But when the present Q becomes so disillusioned at the distraction “love” creates for not only his younger self, but everyone working to resolve the temporal anomaly crisis, he threatens to erase the concept from existence, forever. Can you convince him that the universe’s greatest problems cannot be solved without love?


It’ll be quite the task to keep up with Lothario Q, who will also be the recurrent threshold reward for the duration of the mega-event.

You’ll have the assistance of new crew such as Bridal Deanna Troi, Bride Kasidy Danielle Yates, Caldos IV Crusher, Off Duty Janice Rand, as well as others. And crew with the Scoundrel trait will provide an event bonus throughout all four events.

This mega-event will also see the introduction of a brand new ship: U.S.S. Prometheus!

Our latest client, v8.0.0 is now live on Facebook and Steam. It will be rolled out to Windows and Google Play in the coming days. The iOS release is scheduled for next week, followed by a release on our other android platforms (Amazon, Huawei, and Samsung).

A reminder: for our Android release the minimum operating system requirement was raised from 4.1 to 4.4. Devices on android 4.1 will no longer be able to run the game.

Now off to the juicy parts!

With this update we’ll be introducing a brand new feature to the game, Crew Retrieval!

This feature will provide you with the means to have more agency to target the specific crew that you want, and add them to your roster, something that has been long requested.

This new game mechanic required a lot of careful considerations (such as a crew trait audit for instance, see our separate communication on that subject), it touches several existing game systems, and as a result will need to be released in multiple phases.

We understand that you want more details, this will be provided on Wednesday, February 3.

On that date you can expect a high level introduction to Crew Retrieval and related changes, as well as a detailed roll out plan explaining each release phase. This will be done via forum posts and in-game mails, but that’s not all!
Our very own WRG Ben will showcase Crew Retrieval on the Timelines Talks stream on Wednesday, February 3 at 3:30 pm ET (20:30 UTC)! Don’t miss this opportunity to have a first look at this exciting new feature!

During the stream, Ben’s main focus will be to present Crew Retrieval, he won’t have the opportunity to answer questions.

We understand that you’ll have questions however and we’ll welcome them in a dedicated forum discussion that will be created on February 3!

What can you expect once you upgrade to 8.0.0?

Some of the changes adjacent to the Crew Retrieval feature will be visible immediately upon updating:

- Main Interface - Manifest Icon

Next to Daily Missions, the new Manifest icon replaces the Crew icon and will be the new home for accessing your Crew, Ships, Inventory, Cryostasis Vault, and later on, Crew Retrieval.

- Crew Details

Knowing the final stats of a crew (FF/FE and 1/X FE level 100) plays an important role in making crew management decisions, but that critical information was not displayed in-game.

This will no longer be the case, we’re happy to announce that this quality of life improvement is part of our 8.0.0 update!

The new Crew Details Pop-Up panel will be present throughout many areas of the game, giving you the ability to look at a crew’s description, traits, stats and ship abilities.

Remembering the Tamarians and the difficulty deciphering the memetic nature of their language, she reaches out for help with updating the Universal Translator.
