A group of Starfleet’s finest bridge crew who, while not being captains of their own starships, have assumed temporary command positions for a special mission. Starfleet has rolled out a brand-new batch of upgraded California-class ships in time for a research mission in a newly discovered nebula. The temporary officers have been assigned to assist the rookie captains of these vessels. But when disaster strikes, they know precisely which Starfleet captain to turn to for help!
