Let's Play Together - Hollowbold

Hello friends! Every Friday 17:30 UTC/GMT we hold a “Let’s play together” competition. During next 24 hours everyone is welcome to try and score the best time in a preselected level. Join our Discord server and keep Discord running while playing — your results will be automatically published in the #lets-play-together channel. You need to get 5 stars to qualify.

Glittering prizes include:
1) Top 3 winners receive one random card each. Collect 18 locomotive cards and advance to next set of 6 all new cards! Complete that second set and enter a final tier of 2 very special and super limited cards! Assemble 26 cards and receive a special prize. Easy!
2) Every player registered by our Discord bot has a chance to get a card. The number of cards depends on the number of participants: one additional card for every 10 train connoisseurs on the list. More players means more prizes!

Extra Let's Play Together - Soon Be Millionaires

Hello friends! Due to the fact that many people are now forced to be at home in quarantine, we decided to add another Let's Play Together competition in the middle of the week. This is an experiment. There can be different crazy levels. There will be no prizes. Perhaps this will last only for the period of forced isolation, but if everyone likes this extra competition format we will make it permanent.

The rules are the same: log in to our Discord server, keep it running, play a competitive level, complete it with 5 stars and have fun!

Level of the Month - June 2021


Level of the Month - June 2021 - Time To Dust Off Calculus Textbooks Edition :)

Named after Leonardo of Pisa, known as Fibonacci, the Fibonacci numbers are a sequence of numbers in mathematics such that each number is the sum of the two preceding ones, starting from 0 and 1. The sequence starts:
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, ...

And Fibonacci 13 by @BenGotham is built on that sequence. You start by building a 0 TV2$ station to connect it to the Lumber Yard with a construction cost of 1 000 TV2$ to deliver 1 train car of wood back, then two carts of coal, three carts of iron ore - you see the pattern too :)

Delivery volumes go up and require engine upgrades - or multiple stage deliveries - but the funds are tight and local terrain unforgiving. Limited building space and production buildings' location dictate microcontrolling every engine at all times. Time objectives are on our side with at least 13 minutes to spare.

Sanskrit prosody, fruitlets of a pineapple and now Train Valley 2 levels. In all its simplicity a refreshingly unusual entertainment hides. Congratulations @BenGotham, your €30 Steam gift card is on its way!

A train themed puzzle that includes varied elevation levels terrain, customs stations officers that are really serious about their paper, a multibranch production chain and powerful steam locomotives from the times polymers were only theorized about :) Plenty of space to build junctions and almost relaxed time objectives - especially if you invest in your engines early on - a pleasant design all around.

A refined experience of just building your tracks to drive your trains to deliver your goods to meet your time objectives to get that 5 stars win. A bit more relaxed gameplay that challenges you just the right amount. Featuring hand-crafted surroundings, several delivery points and restricted building space, Rocky Cavelands maintains the same level of justifiable difficulty through and through.
And yes, you can drive your engines through the rocks, just don't delete the entry track tiles :)

A level a bit on the short side with an autotrain, two simple production chains and more then generous time objectives — creator also claims it might be unfinished and while that last bit is for them to decide, one thing is certain - it is quite playable and very nice to complete.

A powerful earthquake hitting a region with a nuclear power plant forces evacuation of 2 cities, and you are to help while having limited everything — time and funds most importantly. A map that requires careful planning and management despite few and very completable looking objectives, DNSAT* included.

Ah, an ATU B124 classic. Three structures, different building materials, a certain individual with higher tidal lung volumes, dynamite factory...and a train puzzle? A fresh locomotive-powered take on this timeless story gives you 8 minutes and an objective to blow up anything and everything 50000 TV2$ worth. A fantastic short expertly crafted game.

A secret naval base built in record time has some difficulties with logistics, and this is where you come in. Navigate restricted terrain, build amazingly impossible junctions, keep in mind one way stations and the oil autotrain, almost forget about DNSAT* objective and emerge victorious anyway :)

42 personal computers is the final delivery objective. Probably somehow connected to the meaning of, well, everything? Minimalistic retro-futuristic terrain, a manageable supply chain, a bit less than 42 minutes to complete. A very nice railroad puzzle exercise. Bring a towel.

A level so impressive we LPT'ed it before even writing about it in Choo-Choo Weekly - that is a new record. A very interesting design that is supposed to have some ways about solving it but actually has a lot, this is a classic Train Valley 2 gameplay experience — lay down the tracks, keep objectives in mind, look for shortcuts and possible workarounds and that 15 minutes timer will (hopefully) stop at 14:59 faster than you can say "the two-twenty-two train tore through the tunnel." :)

Fibonacci Sequence, now with locomotive paradox flavour! An inordinately clever creation that looks and plays (at least for the first 5 seconds) very simple, but after that the costs of production buildings, track building (through greater distances), delivery volumes and the overall difficulty go up exactly per the sequences' first several numbers. While there is a long and both exhausting and exhaustive article on the Wiki, Fibonacci 13 explains everything you need to know in a very entertaining and definitely replayable form.
