UPDATE NOW LIVE | Police Van, Ability to Tackle Suspects, Drunk Pedestrians

December Update Details


Today's major update introduces a drivable police van, multiple new and updated callouts, the ability to tackle suspects, a portable fan for the fire department, drunk pedestrians and more!



New

- Drivable police van added
- Police can now tackle suspects by clicking interact when close enough to the NPC while running (by default, Left Shift to run + Left Mouse Button to interact)
- Portable fan for fire department (in trucks only), to clear smoke areas in callouts ID 2; 2003; 2006
- Glasses make their return as a character customisation option
- Christmas hat returns for limited time as a character customisation option
- New police callout: "Bring suspect to Court" ID 1016
- New police callout: "Reported intoxicated persons" ID 1017
- Random pedestrians may now be drunk. Drunk pedestrians and drivers are more likely to appear at night time
- Court House area added near hospital
- Handcuffs now physically appear when you have handcuffed an NPC



Fixes

- Player no longer burns after they have healed or respawned following death by fire
- Pedestrians are now more likely to run away after hearing gunshots
- Ground asphalt texture glitch fix
- Fixed an issue with players being able to control the car when not inside vehicle
- NPC handcuff animation updated
- Fixed an issue with a traffic light pole which could be driven through
- Fixed an issue where NPCs could still shoot when being interacted with
- Controls no longer broken when player respawns/is revived while holding a suspect
- You can no longer use the weapon wheel when down
- Handbrake now automatically applied when you turn off the engine

It's been an incredible year for Flashing Lights and we cannot wait to share more with you regarding our 2020 plans early next year.

Police Van Teaser + IndieDB Indie of the Year

Development on the Flashing Lights December update is well underway, so we wanted share a sneak peek with you.

But first we have some more end of year awards news to share with you, and we need your help.

Vote Flashing Lights in the IndieDB Indie of the Year Awards!




IndieDB are running their Indie of the Year award once again, and it'd mean the world to us if you could vote for Flashing Lights!

All you need to do is to visit the Flashing Lights IndieDB page HERE and click on the big 'vote now' button.

December Update Sneak Peek




As promised, the December update will introduce a drivable police van, along with new prisoner transport missions! The van has two enclosed sections at the back, allowing you to transport multiple suspects at a time.

In the image, you'll also notice a very trendy police officer...

The ability to tackle suspects is also being added in the December update.

Watch out for this update, as well as news on what's to come in 2020. We have big plans for next year and can't wait to share them with you all!

Flashing Lights November Update Now Live!


This month's update adds a fuel system for all player vehicles, where you'll have to refuel at gas stations, as well as SCBA equipment for the fire department, allowing you to tackle smoke zones, interior fires. These were both heavily voted for features in the community roadmap poll and we are excited to hear your thoughts!

Please note that if you wish to play without the new fuel system, you can turn it off in the menu.

Watch out for the December update, which will add a player police van, prisoner transport missions and the ability to tackle suspects!



Full Patch Notes


New
- Fuel system added for player vehicles, refill available at any gas station
- You can now set fuel consumption before game session
- The fuel system can be turned off in the settings if you wish to play without the new fuel system
- Option to call NPC tow truck to replenish small amount of fuel in case of depletion (click on your gas tank icon to find this option when outside the vehicle)
- Refill progress now displayed at gas station on the screen and on the vehicle dashboard
- SCBA introduced for firefighters, giving them the ability to walk in smoke zones
- Player characters walking in fire will start to burn and lose health
- Air level now displays next to health bar when using SCBA equipment
- Firefighters can now pick up and carry NPC victims
- Smoke zones and NPC victims added to existing missions (IDs 2; 2003; 2006)
- Hose and extinguisher can now take out multiple fires at the same time
- Rotoray light for ladder truck added

Fixes
- Possible fix for multiplayer door tag bug, where players couldn't open doors
- Minor light illumination setting changes
- You can now continue to steer and use brakes when engine is switched off
- When player is down, they can no longer interact with anything
- Free fly camera does not show interaction tags anymore
- Patient delivery now registers when patient makes contact with the tag, even if the player is not holding the stretcher
- "Register" text changed to "Register Suspect" for police
