GUNS UPDATE NOW LIVE ON PUBLIC BRANCH | 25% OFF SALE



Hello all,

I'm excited to reveal that Flashing Lights' Gun Update is now available for everybody. We appreciate your patience, and we would love to hear what you all think of this new update!

New to the police department are weapons and a number of new and updated callouts. As well as the new handgun and shotgun, developer Nils Jakrins has also added a variety of building interiors for you to explore in the game’s open world. The entirety of Flashing Lights, including today’s new content, is available in either single player or up to ten player multiplayer.

- Shotguns and handguns have been added for the police department
- Armed robbery callout for police added (ID 1014)
- Possible armed suspects added to some existing callouts
- Basic interior for gas stations and diner cafes introduced
- Weapon wheel menu added, mapped to the Q key by default (Can still use regular number keys 1; 3; 4; 5)
- Shotgun accessible from police vehicle trunk
- Ability to call EMS for NPCs who have died added
- Can now press the Z button to switch shoulders while on foot
- NPCs now receive damage when being hit by a car
- Player character and NPCs take damage depending on body part hit
- Player and NPC health bars added
- Player healing spots added at Hospital, Police and Fire departments, as well as gas stations around the open world
- Player character now ragdolls and respawns after health reaches zero
- Negative reputation points for shooting or running over unarmed NPCs
- Pedestrians and suspects may put their hands up when player aims at them
- Crosshair added when aiming weapons
- Lights added to the diner, gas stations and hospital
- You can now search Incapacitated suspects
- Screen dim effect added when player receives damage
- Weapon shot muzzle flash effect added
- Bullet impace sound effect added (currently universal for all surfaces)
- Shotgun now has a temporary reload animation
- Person with a gun callout added for police (ID 1015)
- Experimental command /m-cancel added for multiplayer clients to end calls



Fixes


- Minor SUVs physics centre of mass adjustments
- Fire SUV no longer spawns with lights on
- Minor front flashing lights adjustments for SUVs
- Alcohol check BAC value capped to 0.2
- Fixed an issue with the reload sound effect playing twice
- Potential fix introduced for vehicle doors stuck closed (please report if you still encounter the issue)
- Temporarily removed weapon selection menu at PD until more variety of weapons are added
- NPC bone structure reset after respawn
- Disabled reload while typing "r" in chat
- Interaction menus now cancel if NPC or player goes into ragdoll mode
- Ambulance truck stretcher spawn positions altered
- Traffic stop on foot process is now faster
- Adjustments for parked cars in some locations
- Incapacitated suspects can no longer keep shooting
- NPC ambulances now appear for both clients and hosts on multiplayer
- Player list now correctly shows when pressing Tab
- Armed robbery locations correctly show for all players on multiplayer
- Gas station windows can no longer be walked through
- Vehicle wheel colliders have been adjusted to reduce bouncing on cars
- Vehicle door tag issue potentially fixed - please report if it still happens
- Shotgun holding adjustments for aim pose
- Shotgun recoil adjusted
- Adjusted camera distance while aiming
- Bullet trail adjustments made
- Suspects no longer spawn on gas station roof
- You can no longer reload weapons when fully loaded

UPDATE TO GUNS PATCH TEST BRANCH | Crosshairs, building lighting, peds raising hands

Hello all,

We are excited to announce a new update to the Flashing Lights patch test branch. We are working hard on making the Guns Update the best it can be, listening to player feedback and reports coming in from the community.

This latest update to the Patch Test branch fixes a few issues reported by the community and seeks to make suspect and pedestrian reactions to weapons a little more realistic.

Pedestrians or suspects will now sometimes put their hands up when a weapon is pointed at them. They will then comply with any additional instructions given.

We have also added crosshairs to help with aiming, and put additional lighting in and around the diners, gas stations, and the hospital.

Please find below a full list of changes

New

GUNS UPDATE NOW LIVE - Shotgun, Handgun, Building Interiors, Armed Robbery Callout



Hello all,

I am excited to announce that Flashing Lights' Guns Update is now live on the Public Patch Test Branch! This bring shotguns and handguns to Flashing Lights, as well as a brand new armed robbery callout for the police department. Also introduced is basic interiors for gas stations and diner cafes.

To access the new Public Patch Test Branch, and play the new update, please do the following:

- Load up Steam and head to your library
- Right click on Flashing Lights and then select "Properties"
- Head to the Beta tab and in the drop down select "public_patch_test" (no password needed)
- This will then download the new update for you



We're looking for feedback before the update goes to live everybody, so we'd appreciate you all sharing your thoughts on the update!

NEW UPDATE NOW LIVE | Six New Driveable Vehicles



Hello all,

I am excited to announce that Flashing Lights' February update is now live!



This update adds brand new vehicles for all departments. You're now able to select your vehicle by approaching and interacting with the spinning vehicle icon once you load into the world with your department of choice.

- Marked and unmarked SUV now available for police
- SUVs for fire department and EMS
- New fire truck (based on a tanker truck)
- EMS truck

- Original EMS ambulance texture updated
- Added side lights for unmarked police car
- Adjustments for player spawn locations
