0.14.4 and BEYOND

Hey House Partiers,

We wanna give an update on our upcoming content drop, House Party 0.14.4, which is all about the one and only LetyDoesStuff!

This update is a big ol’ sucker with new items, hundreds of lines of new dialogue, and Lety herself. We’re really excited with how it’s shaping up!

We’re always trying to balance work and life as much as possible, and to that end some of our staff will be gone for the first week of July. BUT as soon as we’re back to full manpower, the 0.14.4 release will be headed for Steam.

This update also includes revamps to our UI, which has been totally reborn like a badass phoenix rising from...we shouldn’t oversell--it just looks really, really good now. We’ve included new animations as well, many of which are for the after hours, if you catch our drift.

And what follows next, you might wonder? Leah’s storyboard has just been passed up from the dungeon where our writer dwells, and boy do we have some fun times ahead.

TLDR; House Party 0.14.4 featuring LetyDoesStuff is only a couple of weeks away, then it’s on to Leah’s new content!

Thanks,
-Eek Team

Life of the Party: Tiffany Witcher (Leah) Interview

House Party wouldn't be what it is today without the voice actors. These talented men and women go to bat for us with each update, especially when we make them say some of the most ridiculous shit ever to be spoken in a video game.

In honor of their dedication, we'd like to showcase some of House Party's voice talent in a series of interviews that'll help you connect with the people behind our characters.

Our first interview is with Leah's voice actor, Tiffany Witcher. As the newest member of House Party's cast, Tiffany's already kicking ass and taking names as she helps bring this budding character to life. Let's hear more from the voice behind Leah!

First off, tell us all about Tiffany Witcher.

Well hello, my name is Tiffany Witcher and I'm a voice actor. I've been voice acting for about five years working in entertainment for ten. I'm an advocate for raising awareness for Lupus and I also stream and cosplay. I live in Canada in the Ontario area but I’m originally from Washington DC.

How did you get into voice acting?

I've always loved to act and I did stage acting for a very long time. At one point I wanted to do Broadway but unfortunately due to my medical condition that wasn't in the cards. It wasn't until I was suggested to do voice acting from a friend I was like, “Yeah maybe I can give it a try!” I did small projects for fun but soon realized I really enjoyed the work and wanted to do this as my career.

What made you want to join the House Party roster?

Well, it's a funny story, my husband played the game for a long time and I also played with him after watching the Game Grumps' Let's Plays. I said, “Man, this would be fun to voice for.” It wasn't until months later a friend informed me there was a casting call for it. I quickly looked at it, prepared myself for the audition, and ta-da! It's great getting in a game you wanted to voice for. I almost thought I didn’t have the role because I was told on April 1st.

Looking back, we mayybbbee shoulda changed the day of our selection to a day, you know, not known for bullshitting. But it all worked out! Anyway...

What kind of stories would you like to see from your character Leah in the future?

Honestly considering this game breaks the 4th wall a lot. It would be amazing if there was like a martial arts like experience in black and white. The lips don't properly sync and all that. I think that would be hilarious and at the end of it all you get to, you know, have Leah.

Oh man, now we can't get this scene out of our head. (NSFW, cause of Tarantino.)

Are there any other cool projects that have/will feature your voice acting?

I've voiced in a variety of indie titles, animations and more. I would first like to thank the team behind Luna and the Moonling for first getting me into video game voice acting. Since then, I've voiced in Lucius 3 which was pretty interesting and even a game called What?! My Neighbors are Demons which is a fun lewd visual novel. I voice in a few animations like one I really love called "00:High" that’s on youtube by Akioboy.  With more stuff in the future!

What advice would you give to aspiring VAs just starting out?

Patience! That is the best advice I can give. This takes time to get into and to grow. It's hard work as well and you need to be prepared to do so. Understand you won’t get every role and that rejection is part of being a voice actor.

Where can the fans follow your work?

I stream pretty regularly on Twitch, so make sure to check out my social media to see when you can catch me next!

Let's Talk GAME GRUMPS

Hey Party People,

We know there’s been a lot of questions about when Dan and Arin will be headed for House Party.

Prepare your bodies, because we have the greenlight to begin production on the Game Grumps storyline. It’s happening, friends!

Everybody at Eek appreciates your patience while we got all our cocks in a row. Ducks...while we got all our ducks in a row.

As some of you might know, we’ve already entered production on LetyDoesStuff’s update, who was the female winner of the same contest the Game Grumps won. We won’t truly be starting on any Game Grumps content until Lety’s story is the BEST it can be. Working with Lety to create a killer storyline has been a lot of fun, and we look forward to doing the same with Dan and Arin just as soon as this current update is ready for release.

Seriously, we can’t wait for Dan and Arin to knock on Madison’s door and begin another fantastic chapter of House Party, and we know you can’t either.

Of course we want to know what you, the fans of House Party and Game Grumps, would like to see from this collaboration! Let us know your ideas in the comments below and we’ll make sure our team takes a look as we begin our storyboarding process.

Just no butt stuff.

Well, maybe a little butt stuff.

Change Log

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the Penguin from being properly mounted to the Player's (forgive the technicality) Fun Zone of Mystery and Shenanigans

  • The key in the garage can no longer be accidentally moved, or picked up. This should prevent rare occurrences of the key getting lost

  • Fixed an issue with Compubrah dialogue voice acting sometimes cutting short

  • Fixed an error that can sometimes occur with the light manager

  • Fixed an issue with the Flash n' Dash conversations not working in DNWB

  • Tweaked censorship a bit and made it a bit more performant

  • Fixed some VA lines with Leah

  • Fixed an issue with the control mapper not working with some custom configurations. The control mapper will not revert to default setting upon first play

  • In the Original Story: Patrick will no longer drop his wine during the "Palectrick Feel" scene in the hot tub, which could cause it to be very hard to find by the Player. How, you ask? Electro-deathgrip, OBVIOUSLY

  • In the Original Story: Katherine will no longer walk to the Player in order to announce that Madison's laptop is locked with a password

  • In the Original Story: Vickie will no longer blatantly talk about Rachael's attitude towards parties if Rachael is the only NPC nearby. Cause she isn't a weirdo

  • In the Original Story: Ashley will no longer interrupt the Player's desperate dash to keep up with Leah by commenting on his stupid shirt

  • In the Original Story: fixed an issue that could make Compubrah and its case act like the Player was still in VR mode, even after leaving VR

  • In the Original Story: fixed an issue that could cause Rachael to endlessly try to wander back to VR/Compubrah-land, even after she'd already left

  • In the Original Story: eliminated a redundant response the Player could give Frank, if the player had pursued "Frankly I Don't Trust You" purely by giving Frank beers, and THEN pursuing Rachael's content

  • In the Original Story: fixed an issue that could prevent the "Loot" and "Slap Awake" options on Frank's radial menu from functioning properly, in certain combat circumstances

  • In the Original Story: fixed an issue that could cause Frank to get angry at the Player for taking the Merlot off the ground, even when the Player was given a "Booze Pass" by Frank, or if Frank was concussed after running into the downstairs bathroom door

  • In the Original Story: added in a small preventative measure to ensure that the Player cannot still add the Merlot to their inventory after Patrick has already grabbed it and mounted it to his hand

  • In the Original Story: fixed an issue that could cause Katherine to approach the Player at awkward times instead of getting sick and going to her intended location(s) after giving her the Tampered Rum

  • In the Original Story: fixed an issue that could cause the Player to become permanently stuck on a black/Fade Out screen if they had finished "Derek Smash!", left Frank unconscious, and then tried to pursue the special ending to "The Muse" that starts near the master bathroom

  • In the Original Story: tweaked sex interactions with Patrick while in VR so that they transition more smoothly and no longer bring Patrick and the Player off of the bed as consistently (Work in Progress)

  • In the Original Story: tweaked sex interactions with Rachael while in VR so that they transition more smoothly and no longer bring Patrick and the Player off of the bed as consistently (Work in Progress)
