Final Week at $9.99 + Incoming Controller Support

Hello Everyone,

Tracks - The Train Set Game is continuing to evolve and improve. On 2nd August we will be implementing controller support and adding a few more objects which can be added to your wonderful towns and other creations. Over the coming months there are more items and more features planned.

We will also be transitioning to full release within the next few months. This means that we will also be increasing the price of Tracks, alongside this new update on 2nd August, to $19.99. We will not be increasing the price again after this.

This price increase reflects how far the game has evolved and how much more content it has, opposed to when it launched in Early Access. We wanted to give you all a week's notice so that you do have a chance to purchase the game now before the price increases on 2nd August.

We have an internal schedule of content over the next few months and you will soon see much more regular updates.

New Track Piece, Workers and a Merry Go Round!



Hello everybody!

Today's Tracks update includes a lot of bug fixes and the addition of a couple of new objects and new passenger types. Over the coming months we are working on several new additions and features for Tracks: The Train Set Game. Once we have more details, we'll make sure to share them with you in a future announcement. But for now, let's go through today's additions.

The Turntable Track Piece

Stop on the turntable and turn left or right to spin the train in place. It can also act as a normal cross junction which automatically switches when the train approaches. This has been added as an experimental object meaning that it may need more testing - if you notice this track piece behaving oddly, do let us know!

Merry Go Round!

The Merry go round will rotate, play music and also light up when placed in a night time environment.

New Passenger Types

A few new passenger types have made their way into the game. Right now they behave just like the standard passengers without their own special station but we hope to continue adding more types throughout development. Let us know what kind of passengers you'd like to see in the future.

Easily one of the most requested features finally comes! Turn left or right while sitting on the turntable to spin in place. It'll automatically turn to catch you if it isn't aligned with where you're coming from and it is big enough to turn with one carriage attached.

A spinning, bouncing, music playing, lit up carousel.

Easter Update - 29th March 2018



Hello everyone,

Today's update contains a few new objects, introduces animals, new building objects and the introduction of cabin toys for you to use while driving the train.

Easter Eggs

To celebrate Easter, we've introduced a 10% discount and have added a few more bits of content into the game! One of these is an Easter egg which can be placed into your environments. It's a rather bright and quite large egg - multicoloured and comes in various sizes in-fact.

For those of you who enjoy Easter egg hunts, we've hidden ten Easter eggs in the image below. See if you can find them all! A link to the full size image can be found just below too!

Cabin toys

This update includes the first of many different interactive trinkets for your train cabin. Eventually they'll be optional and customisable, and perhaps impact gameplay. The first is the steam whistle, which you can look at, and click & hold left click to activate.

Fatal Error - D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006- 'HUNG')

For anyone who has been experiencing this error message, please check the forum thread for an update and new instructions for a potential fix.

We still have more planned for Tracks - we are working on a few ideas to increase the scope of the game. Once we cement these ideas down we'll begin communicating them publicly, but rest assured that we really want to see Tracks grow!

Just fixing up some issues with the latest patch, new content coming in the next one.

ːfixː Fixed issues which made you unable to select/build track caused by using undo to reverse:
  • Placement of spawn-menu track pieces
  • Clicks to move along track pieces in build mode
  • Cycling through track endings with R

ːfixː Improved undo behaviour by filtering out actions which had no impact (e.g. selecting the previously selected piece of track) so you don't need to double click passed them

Finer object placement controls:
  • You can now rotate objects in amounts smaller than 90 degrees
  • Both Rotation and Location snapping options are now available in the Scenery menu
  • Added a Constant Grid option to choose whether acutely rotated objects will stick to the normal track grid, or stick to one based on their rotation (so it can line up with others)
Boosted performance of the Save/Load menu, especially with many files
    When you open the save menu for the first time ever after this update, there will be a potentially long delay/stuttering. Just let it run, this will only happen once and then loading will be much faster forever!
