Trying to get this game done just right... Technical details

I had an update that was going to add 1.2 gb of music, like 40 new songs... But then when the game loaded, it took 36 seconds! I need to find a load on the fly solution.

This whole DOTS/ECS thing that unlocks all your cores, 10-1000x performance is great... But it added about 10 months to the dev process at least and is still slow going... Definitely glad I did it, but MMO could have been out last March.

And HDRP while making great graphics is a huge headache and lowers FPS by 1/3.

All these things are investments in the future and I think the right decisions except HDRP... The estimations on release are skewed because of these new techs, but rest assured, I work on this each day. 4 hrs or so or more.

Single Player Moba End of January coming, I know the title is self contradictory, but it will be giving us test information for the MMORPG networking engine. This will be game 2 of my challenge to release 4 games in 4 months.

Just slating you guys to know stuff is on pace, development is grand.

I'm fighting through what seems to be hyperthyroidism which is why my health got better when I got covid in early January. Covid slows you down, and I'm already naturally hyperactive, so hyperthyroidism overclocks me just a BIT too much. ;) Hyperthyroidism makes it so stress shuts me down. Even light can be a stressor. Coupled with what seems to be a form of manageable diabetes, I can't eat before bed. So I need to avoid bright lights and not eat after midnight... LOL, leave it at that.

Get hyyyyyped, MMORPG SOOOOOOOON, game getting more fun as we go, some super minor base raid stuff coming in next patch that has the Single player MOBA for trideium (temporary mode).

Patch Notes:

*) Dev only option in fly mission now lets you primitively shoot lasers, collide off enemy drones and they drop scrap (not collectable ATM)

*) Two types of ship flying: Aerodynamic in Nebula (like WW2 fighter pilots), and SpaceDynamics like Vector Velocities.


*) Highlighting buildings/ships more cerebral.
Somewhere along the line a bug came in stopping easy selection of buildings.
Fixed.

*) Bodega auto rewards most days
->Meant to be cool when loading up, needs a bit more polished to be cool.
->You still get rewards

*) Almost fixed bug selecting ships after mission, its a bit better but not as good.
If you can't select ships after mission, just escape out and come back in, it's on the block

*) Collision off stuff works way better.

Finished SIngle Player Moba to grab some triderium

Then in 10-40 hrs after that: MMORPG engine completed and the MOBA will be playable with multiplayers to test MMORPG engine.

Closin in, any day now... MMORPG engine

I'm a minimum 20 hours out before the MMORPG engine test in the MOBA.

Two days ago I got the 'Rona likely. I had cold hands/feet, chills, aches, headache. Came down with it same time a guy who went to a New Years family party also did. I laid in bed for 30 hours which was nice because I had insomnia for like 8 months... So long story short, Coronavirus actually had me feel in better health after I got it.

Genesis 50:20 You plotted evil against me, but God turned it into good, in order to preserve the lives of many people who are alive today because of what happened.

Today I did some consulting for a major tech company. They're aware that I know stuff that like no major tech companies do and it is very important so it was a good talk.

Don't think this MMORPG it will be built in a day, but two days and maybe so.

Once the engine is out, we stress test it for 2 weeks while I add MMORPG content design/develop side.

I'm also realizing the fleeting failing breath of entertaining nonsense activities online and in my daily life. Focus on getting to what matters and you can put more time into it.
