Hey guys, this update is soley being released because it includes within it a fix for a bad crash bug randomly breaking peoples games... Hate those bugs with a passion but I also hate releasing updates with no actual content... So I added our boy Gibbrath to make sure it wasn't just bug fixes!

Warsimlikes - The growing community of Warsimlike games!

Hello everyone!

Been a minute since my last post on this phenomenon and I thought I'd share an update! We've since got 2 more projects that have started and one is now even on steam!

Alongside that the Warsimlikes discord room on our Warsim discord has been buzzing with activity and many other budding devs have stated they are quietly working on their own Warsimlike projects in the background.

So here is the updated list of Warsimlikes!

THE WARSIMLIKE MEGALIST

With the 2 latest projects added to the list, we now have 9 total Warsimlikes. Now to you many beautiful people reading this, please note that a lot of these projects do not get the exposure they deserve, and I have learned that every single time I mention these games on Warsim's platform they get big boosts... A superpower I intend to abuse to it's limit if it helps these awesome people keep doing what they're doing!

[h3]CULT GAME[/h3]

CheffJeff on our Warsimlike discord is probably the Warsimlikes Goat, he's been working on some incredible stuff and also singehandedly saved Warsim from a huge bug that broke development last December by helping me through an issue that I couldn't wrap my head around personally, absolute hero. Check it out here.

He's also lately been popping off with some incredible youtube videos showing his development process, check them out here and see why 25k other people enjoyed it

[h3]Heroes of Book & Paper[/h3]

The first Warsimlike to go on steam, fun fact about this. It's the only other game on steam that references Aslona (nice little easter egg) and the developer is a longtime Warsim community legend LeMachinga, who came up with a redesign for the mushroom men faces that became the standard, leading to a possible mushroom name for shroomling characters 'LeMushinga'. [h3]Roots of Harmony (New)[/h3]


This one was an excellent thing to come out of seemingly nowhere, the second Warsimlike you can find on steam!

'Text-based 4X with a focus on turf war and resource management. Roots of Harmony is an old-school keyboard-controlled casual game where you have to lead your colony to different stages of development, while facing various threats and managing your doctrines and disciples.'

[h3]Dark Path Wanderer[/h3]

This one feels like a mix of Warsim and my old game the Wastes (rip) the screenshots look really cool and I'm excited to see how it develops. Check it out here.

[h3]Crusader's Quest[/h3]

A python based text rpg based on Warsim and Oregon Trail. Another promising project that I watch with interest. Check it out here!

[h3]IceBound Zero[/h3]

A new entry to the list and honestly the reason for this article, I saw this post pop up on the Warsim subreddit this week and it seems like someone is working on a Warsimlike where you play a small time drug dealer. A very interesting early project that I hope continues to grow!

[h3]Bazaboo's Warsimlike Project (New)[/h3]

An early project being crafted on our discord by Bazaboo, who is currently working on some fun stuff with kingdom generation and history generation, awesome to see them having so much fun with it!

[h3]END OF EDEN[/h3]

This game is one that used the Warsim generators that were released as a free tool for DMs and other game devs a little while back, here we see one of Warsims Underling faces and it's awesome to see our generators go to use like this! Check it out here.

[h3]The Wastes[/h3]

Adding it here as an honourable mention, this game was made after the initial warsim demo but before I took on Warsim properly and began turning it into a game. This proc gen wasteland explorer game was worked on intensely for 6 months before I had the source code wiped... Didn't keep any backups back then like a bloody idiot but hey lessons learned...

And for those asking what the definition of a Warsimlike is, I'd say it's a stretchable definition that simply means at it's minimum a game that's development has been inspired in part by Warsim, or a game that uses content from the Warsim generators for it's own content

Warsim 1.2.5 (Trap Door DLC + Terraton Nukes)

Hey guys, been a minute but I'm glad to be back with this one! Just recovering from a flu but I ain't letting that stop me put out some Warsim goodness! As always big fucking love to you beautiful bastards dropping comments, reviews, hell even bug reports. I love that this game is always alive and kicking and I appreciate you all more than you probably know to be honest (although I do talk about it a lot), hope you guys enjoy it :)

Ever had a few billion sat around and wanted to nuke the inbred fire dwarves neighbouring your land... me either, but if that does sound like you NOW YOU CAN! Introducing TERRATON NUKES!

* Added new terraton upgrade 'Terraton Catapult' (cost 1 terraton)
* Added new option in the other buildings screen to visit your catapult
* Added ability to load catapult with a terraton
* Added ability to fire catapult at any living major faction

People have been asking for alternate trap door bottoms since 2017... Well now you can have all sorts of trap door types (meatgrinder is my fave)

* Added new trap door upgrades option when you have installed a trap door
* Added Water Pit trap door upgrade (and 15+ reactions) (500 gold to install)
* Added Lava Pit trap door upgrade (and 15+ reactions) (3000 gold to install)
* Added Meatgrinder trap door upgrade (and 15+ reactions) (1500 gold to install)
* Added Spikepit trap door upgrade (and 15+ reactions) (550 gold to install)
* Added Endless Hole trap door upgrade (and 15+ reactions) (2500 gold to install)
* Added meatgrinder gives +1 gold per kill

Warsim 1.2.4 (Boozer's Blessing Update) (69 (eyy) new features and fixes)

Everything has been insane on my end, I've been replying to the literally 1000s of comments, dms, emails, reviews, and bug reports but still haven't reached them all. Been in talks with an absurd number of streamers, youtubers, and media so hopefully more big Warsim stuff to come! (And even more that I'm keeping secret for now) but hey, beyond that here's a juicy boozy update for all you boozy bastards!

Want to get drunk in your throne room, well now you can!

All of these require your throne room to be big enough to host entertainment (then it's added to the entertainment menu)

* Added new kingdom upgrade 'Throne room boozetap' (500 gold) (Adds the ability to drink booze, 5 free drinks per year, host 2 man drinking competitions, and buy replacement booze in your throne room)
* Added new kingdom upgrade 'Throne room drinking hole' (5000 gold) (+10 free drinks per year) (3 man drinking comps)

I thought I'd do something to liven the competitions up a bit from being purely based on a bit of luck on if the participants get drunk and how much drinking tolerance they spawn with, now it's a lot more in depth... And sidenote nasty goblins are the worst drinking partners...

* Added 'sipper' personality to comp drinkers (sip their booze)
* Added 'stoic' personality to comp drinkers (will drink expressionless)
* Added 'puker' personality to comp drinkers (large chance they will puke)
* Added 'extreme puker' personality to comp drinkers (instant puke after one drink)
* Added 'gullet' personality to comp drinkers (instantly downs their drinks)
* Added 'quitter' personality to comp drinkers (may quit at random)
* Added 'step further' personality to comp drinkers (will survive where others would pass out... but only once)
* Added 'cheat' personality to comp drinkers (will cheat sometimes, but can be caught)
* Added 'aggressive' personality to comp drinkers (will mess with other participants)
* Added 'unpredictable' personality to comp drinkers (will do any of the 9 above at random)
* Added chance aggressive human drinker will maliciously pat opponent on the back (chance of +1 drunk level)
* Added chance aggressive human drinker will pour more drink into opponents glass (chance of +1 drunk level)
* Added chance aggressive human drinker will whack belly of opponent (chance of quitting)
* Added chance aggressive goblin drinker will pee in opponents drink (chance of +1 drunk level)
* Added chance aggressive goblin drinker will flick poo at opponents face (chance of quitting)
* Added chance aggressive goblin drinker will put his fingers down opponents throat (INSTANTLY FORCES OPPONENT TO PUKE AND QUIT)

New drinking competitions will happen most years now in Goblinwood, but get down the Rusty Dagger Inn and read the drinkylist to see what's happening!

* Added random drinking competitions that take place at Human's toe tavern most years (random rules)
* Added random drinking competitions that take place at Rusty Dagger Inn most years (random rules)
* Added drinkylist to the rusty dagger inn listing all current goblinwood drinking competitions (including jamboree)



[h3]GOD DRINKING TWEAKS (3 features)[/h3]

Added a vomit hole by request and ended up doing some other tweaks!

A little extra content for Warsim's greatest character... Umm YES!

The max it would go was saying you had a kingdoms worth of people, this happened when you had 3k or more visitors... I've seen people hitting stupidly high levels at late game that dwarf 3k, so now we've got better tiers of text to reflect it!

* Adjusted highest tier of throne room visitor text 'kingdoms worth of people' from 3k to 15k+
* Added new tier of throne room visitor text 'population of a city' (5k+)
* Added new tier of throne room visitor text 'several kingdoms worth' (50k+)
