Hello, Splitfam! Today we have opened the servers for Splitgate 2 Alpha and admitted our first wave of players.

If you haven’t hit the ‘Request Access’ button on the Steam store page yet, there’s still time to do it. We’ll be admitting more players between now and August 25 and we hope we’ll see you in the arena.

If you are granted access to Alpha via Steam, you’ll get an email from Steam notifying you, and Splitgate 2 Alpha will appear in your Steam Library. Just download and login to get portaling.

[h3]When is Alpha happening and how long will it last?[/h3]
The initial Alpha will be available from approximately 9am Pacific (noon Eastern, 5pm BST, 6pm CEST) on August 21, 2024 until 8pm Pacific (11pm Eastern, 4am BST, 5am CEST, both August 26) on August 25, 2024. To figure out what time that is in your part of the world, we recommend checking out Everytimezone.com.

[h3]Am I guaranteed to be able to play in Alpha for Splitgate 2?[/h3]
We can’t guarantee access and are not able to announce how many players will be allowed in. We’ll be allowing more people in throughout the Alpha and certainly hope you get in!

[h3]After I’ve applied to Alpha, do I have to re-apply in future?[/h3]
No you don’t. Once you’ve applied for access to Alpha, you’re on the list to be granted access for any future Alphas. In addition, once you’re granted access, it’s for all Alphas.

[h3]I’m a content creator, can I stream and/or make content about Splitgate 2?[/h3]
Absolutely. There are no restrictions on streaming or capturing gameplay during Alpha. Make sure that when you post, you tag @Splitgate on our socials, or use the hashtag #Splitgate2 so we can see it. Also you might consider applying to our Splitgate MVP Program.

[h2]What happens to the first Splitgate?[/h2]
We currently have no plans to shut down the servers or end basic support for the original Splitgate.

Keep an eye on our Discord for news about the future of the original Splitgate. We want to hear from you and your concerns, and you can voice them in our Discord server.

[h2]Why did you remove the ability to buy Splitcoin in Splitgate?[/h2]
Your purchased content in Splitgate will not transfer over to Splitgate 2. We felt it best to prevent new purchases of Splitcoin in case people had an expectation of it or their cosmetics transferring to the next game.

You can still spend your Splitcoin in the store in the original Splitgate.

[h2]What happens to items, and progression with the next game?[/h2]
We’ve spent several years building a bigger and better game with Splitgate 2. And that means characters, weapons, and the progression system are all going to evolve.

Skins won’t be able to transfer in the same way that you can’t peel the paint off your old house and apply it to the mansion you moved into.

We understand the time spent in acquiring these items. We want to reward your efforts and time in Splitgate, and we take that seriously. How we will do that is not decided at this time, but know that it is something we are focused on as we develop Splitgate 2.

[h2]What happens to my Splitcoin from the first game?[/h2]
Splitcoin will not carry over into Splitgate 2. You can still spend your Splitcoin in the original Splitgate.

Hello. Remember Splitgate? Well, its sequel, Splitgate 2, has just been revealed and is set to arrive in 2025.

If you missed the boat on the original, it was a pretty big thing for a hot minute a few years ago, thanks to being a fun shooter with gameplay that pretty much answered any questions you might have had about what would happen if a Halo game and a Portal game loved each other very much, went into a bedroom, and, er, cuddled a bit.

As detailed in a fresh PlayStation blog, Splitgate 2 is set to arrive in 2025, and will build on the original thanks to a beefier budget and a larger roster of developers.
