We've talked much recently about the amazing Test Pilots within the Project Genesis community in the past, but we're excited to give you a little insight into the dedicated efforts they've been helping our dev team with behind-the-scenes since the release of the Libra milestone update!
Avatar Weapon Improvements
A large focus post-Libra in the test environment has centered around tuning and balancing for Avatar weaponry. With the addition of a variety of optics entering the game in Libra, further playtesting has necessitated multiple iterations of fine-tuning damage rates, fire rates, damage drop-off, and recoil patterns.
As part of the multiple passes that have been made to the Avatar arsenal, weapon options have been somewhat streamlined to ensure clear distinction between weapons, as well as highlighting key trade-offs between weapon choices.
Weapon factors including damage & fire rates have been through considerable adjustments as the Test Pilots have significantly contributed to our goal of supporting a variety of playstyles while ensuring that each playstyle is not only viable, but feels satisfying for you during combat.
Battle craft Combat Exploration

We have long recognized the need to make space combat in battle craft feel as gratifying as the FPS combat, and a major focus currently behind-the-scenes revolves around accomplishing just that.
In a sense, we've somewhat gone back to the drawing board to evaluate not only the relationship between space & FPS combat, but also to really lean into the foundational structure that our battle craft operate on and crank up the polish to make space combat as satisfying as possible.
While we are still exploring several options for design direction in this space
(pun possibly intended), significant progress is being made thanks to countless hours of design and engineering efforts from members of our dev team, supported by rigorous testing from our Test Pilot Squadron.
We're excited to see the future of space combat in Project Genesis continue to evolve into an experience that rivals that of the FPS gunplay!
Controller Support Development
So many of you have been asking for improved controller support for Project Genesis, and we are hard at work right now putting a ton of hours in with our amazing Test Pilots working to get that controller support in your hands
(quite literally lol)!
We are currently testing Aim Assist functionality for controllers as well as adjusting the settings and options for customizing the controller feel to your particular liking. If you are a controller player on PC, we would love to have you join our
Test Pilot Squadron and help us refine the controller support to its max potential.
Game Mode Discovery

As we have been deep into exploration of space & FPS combat direction options, we have also been dedicating significant energy towards the relationship between both combat environments. This has led to some exciting ideas for future game modes and styles of gameplay that could enter Project Genesis in the future.
While we aren't ready to reveal the specifics of these ideas quite yet, we can say that the current proposals include not only game modes familiar to FPS players from other titles, but include some variations of common game modes as well as unique game modes specific to Project Genesis!
Want to get in on the action and contribute your voice? Join our
Discord server and get access to these exciting new developments by joining our
