VVVVVV gets its first update in seven years, and it's a big one

In early 2020, the gravity-flipping platformer VVVVVV celebrated the tenth anniversary of its release by going open source. VVVVVV 2.3 out now!

Hey everyone! I am super proud to announce VVVVVV 2.3, the first major update to the game in seven years!

(Adorable fan art by Cheep! Check out more of their work on Twitter!)

This release was made possible as a direct result of making the game's source code available last year, and accepting contributions from the community. It's the result of nearly 2000 commits to the codebase, fixing hundreds of small bugs and making the game run at its best on modern computers. A really big thanks to all of our contributors for helping to make this happen - especially Ethan Lee and especially especially InfoTeddy, who contributed the vast majority of the fixes to this version.

I'll link the complete changelog below, but the highlights are:
  • 60+ FPS support
  • Improved graphical options
  • New features in the editor
  • Hundreds of bug fixes
