Updates 9/19 LETS GOOOO

Removed all camera shake!
Altered spawn points in Championship Arena, kick off will be different now.
Added default/preferred Spin Speed for curve shots (Default now medium).
Ball Trail made longer to help with tracking.
Ball Cam no longer let's you move your mouse/cause a jittery shake.
Changed "Ball Cam" to Hold R (or Look At Ball key bind).
Added Ball Cam "default view" setting in options.
Tweaked Grinds and added another rail to Orbital.
Updated in-store Bundle icons to show what they are.
Added a new free male suit (Ensemble) to match Elska's NUBS (New User Bio Suit).
Fixed a bug that didn't let you shoot your shield (keep your eyes out for this one please).
Adjusted shields hitting each other while two players were going at it (Thanks Sarg & Jesse).
Optimized Orbital arena (Please let us know if it runs better!).

Changed how jumps reset, should now reset anytime you are considered grounded
Changed Join in progress one more time to a more seamless flow.

Quite a few updates...

The help has been amazing! Thanks everyone. Tonight's late night update features :

Optimized Orbital arena (Please let us know if it runs better!)
Mirrored Championship Arena's stands so it's symmetrical. Jupiter still watches over the home team.
Changed "Ball Cam" to Hold R. You can Tap R once to look at the ball, and hold R to go into full Ball Cam mode.
Update ball cam tracking methods. If you're new to the game this will help you keep pace!
Fixed Triple Jump, before if you dashed off the ground or fell off of a platform it would count this as a jump (Unreal Engine Default Jump Functionality), we changed the engine to give us control of this.
Powerup HUD no longer shows in Lobby

Removed Dodgeball from Map Vote - let's focus on sport mode during the pre-season.
Moved Chat widget to the top left corner, made it fade away after 15 seconds, and user experience should be smoother.
Added "Grab" cool down indicator. You'll see it.
AFK kick no longer kicks spectators. You will be kicked from the lobby screen if the timer ends and you haven't readied up.

We fixed the last join in progress bug...

Join in progress should be completely 100% functional now!

Fixed a few more bugs! SERVERS NOW 60 TICK

We changed the servers to 60 tick! Everything is crazy smooth now, and some of the old physics you're used to (Curves?) Are going to be a little different than they were before! Now Slow, Med, and Fast spins are all viable options for different trick shots!

Please let us know if anything is super weird with the physics, or if you think the 60 tick is affecting the game in some other way. Please disclose bugs and other issues in our discord! This is the preferred venue for bug reports! discord.gg/protoball

Limiting servers to 8 people maximum for now to encourage 4v4!
FIXED THE SHIELD BUG (Thank you MrXAmazing!) - Sometimes if you pulled out your shield, did not shoot it, and ran into an opponent you would no longer be able to shoot shields until a goal score respawned your character. Thanks to our awesome community in the discord.gg/protoball we found and squashed this one!
Removed the VFX Particles from the Ball Trail
Changed the Dodgeball Ball layout, and removed a couple balls from play.
Fixed the Chat Filter! We know it was annoying... the Chat Police AI Bot tasted that power and started trippin'... we reeled it in. We've seen the movies, we know what happens when AI gets out of control.
Temporary Changes to Powerup HUD - (bottom of screen) this will be refined throughout EA.
We moved Change TPP Camera to Left Alt, and Passing to C (not sure if we like this anymore)

Big Update - We've been listening!

If you ask the Discord old-school players they'll tell you that the devs listen to the players! We've squashed a few bugs, made some changes, and implemented a couple features.

We also added more skins for the Sports Bra and the PB Jersey! Check them out in the store. If you love Protoball the best way to support the devs and servers is to get styled out in-game! Much love and gratitude to everyone that has helped us out so far. Oh, and thanks for helping us hit Top 10 on Steam's trending list, you are awesome!

  • Fixed Join In Progress - Click Join, then CHOOSE A TEAM, and you'll spawn in properly!
  • Over-time is back - No more Draws, first to score in OT wins. You might end up in a triple-OT...
  • Removed Bots - many new players mistook the bot's movement/logic as the game being "janky" so we took them out until we can make them more friendly. They were either brutal or terrible, so we'll work on the bots and bring them back later.
  • Removed Instant Replay - Instant Replay was amazing and awesome but it was very experimental and it didn't make for a smooth game flow experience, it confused some people when it wasn't working properly and we're also removing it until we can get it perfect. Sorry for all you folks making trick videos! It'll be back soonTM we promise!
  • Dunk Mode - Removed the ability to shoot the ball in Dunk Mode. Hit F to go into dunk mode and start flipping out. Chain jumps and hitting CTRL on the ground to stay flippin' and dash into the goal for a slam dunk! More moves and animations and flips (and flip kicks?) are coming your way!
  • Grinding Adjustment - This one is a big deal to us as Grinding basically is the icing on top of all the great things Protoball is. Grinding is the way. Now it looks super ridiculously buttery smooth! Use Grinds to rotate faster and look cool as hell.
  • In-Game Music Player - Our lead dev also makes music and those jams that some of you are raving about were made by him! That horn is sick I know. You can hit P in game to bring up the music player, choose a song or playlist and hit play, then press P again to hide the player and start ballin'
  • DISABLE CHAT - There are a lot of types of human beings in the world and if you don't want to hear what someone has to say just hold CTRL and press ENTER to disable chat! Silence the trolls.
  • Join the discord! You'll find awesome people, cool plays/videos, and fun times no doubt about it.
