[h2]The Blocking System Rework[/h2]
Football is a game that is won and lost in the trenches. A consistent offensive line is key to any offense producing results. Gridiron is no different.
When players reached out to us and provided us with feedback saying that our shields were making it impossible to play consistently, we began work on a system that would provide consistent results while still feeling rewarding for players.
The new blocking system takes the parts of the old system that you have come to know & love and combines them with some new features to provide more consistent and readable line play.
- Blocking is now consistent and reliable. If you hit an oncoming player with your shield, they will be blocked. Exploits from the old system such as jailing and hooking are no longer possible.
- The shield now has its own energy separate from stamina.
- Holding the block until the shield breaks causes both players to be pushed away from each other.
- Offensive linemen can slightly push defensive linemen if they land a precise block with the center of their shield. Defensive linemen can slightly push offensive linemen if the offensive lineman lands a block with the edges of their shield.
- A distinct sound notification will now alert all players if a block has been broken.
- If you are mid-slide or mid-dive and you get hit by a shield, your slide or dive will be stopped at the location the shield made contact, resulting in a successful block.
- Players can only land a block on one other player at a time.
- Blocking from behind is no longer possible. Players can no longer land a block on a player who is running away from them. Note that you can still block players who are walking towards you with their back turned.
[h2]General Changes[/h2]
- Removed the ability to gain momentum by slide-jumping. Jumping while sliding will now end your slide.
- Slightly extended the distance of the dive.
- Improved some audio features of the Moon Stadium.
- Added a kick sound for when players kick the ball.

- Fixed some issues with character animations.
