Happy Valentine's Day! Patch 1.0.3.25

I hope somebody on the field knows first aid, because Cupid just shot us straight through the heart with these two new skins!



Patch 1.0.3.25 introduces two new Cupid skins for The Captain and The Hacker as well as the ability to purchase those characters for those who don't have them unlocked.

The skins will cost 2500 GCoins each, and the characters will cost 2000 each. You can not use the skin without first purchasing the character.

Bug Fixes
Fixed issue with nameplates not hiding on throw.
Fixed issue with blocking effect being too strong.
Fixed issue with passing and receiving yards stats not counting on a touchdown.

This patch introduces UI improvements, a new stat, balance changes, and a new shop system!

[h2]Shop System[/h2]
The community asked, and we answered. We know a lot of you have wanted to be able to earn some of the sweet skins and characters outside of custom events, and now you can. Starting this patch, playing matchmaking games of GridIron earns you Gridollars, which can be spent in our store to buy custom skins and characters.



During this initial patch, we will be soft launching with the Synth character, and his limited edition Synthetic Gold skin. You'll definitely want to hop on GridIron and start earning Gridollars right away to purchase them, as this skin wont be available for purchase after the soft launch.

[h2]General Changes[/h2]
  • Improved settings for streamers, including stream snipe prevention and chat hiding.
  • Added a new trackable stat, Tackle for Loss.
  • Added the ability to visit a players steam profile directly from the scoreboard.
  • Stats will no longer be recorded on 2 point conversions(except for the actual conversion stat)
  • Removed the bunny hop protection jump restriction. Now you can jump twice without any impact to movement or stamina. The third/fourth/fifth jumps however will begin taking more and more stamina. This only counts for jumps in quick succession.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue with Voice communications sometimes not working when backfilled into a game.
  • Added an additional color to the player ring to indicate ball possession,
  • Fixed an issue where the ball was able to collide with the players camera when being held.
  • Fixed an issue where a "New Rank" message would show up after the end of every game.
  • Fixed an issue where the possession ring didn't show for the player holding it locally.
  • Fixed touchdowns counting when the receiver was ineligible.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the Vote Screen would show up twice and one copy stayed on players screen for the entire game.

Patch 1.0.3.20 introduces the new behavior system, new visual stances, and important balance changes that help the game feel more dynamic and rewarding.

[h2]New Behavior System[/h2]
We've added in a completely new report system. Starting with this patch, reporting players now carries penalties from voice and text communication mutes to matchmaking cooldowns and game bans.
If you see someone being toxic, please report them so we can keep improving our community!

[h2]Stance System[/h2]
We are introducing stances to the game. At the beginning of each play, you will assume a stance based on the position you are playing.
  • Offensive Linemen will take up a 3 point stance.
  • Defensive Linemen will take up a 4 point stance.
  • Wide Receivers will take up a 2 point stance.
  • Defensive secondary players will take up a 2 point stance unless they are playing on the line.


[h2]Balance Changes[/h2]
  • Shields no longer block your own teammates.
  • Added a little bit of control to your character while in the air.
  • Added the ability to jump out of a slide resulting in a carry of horizontal momentum into the jump.
  • Added the ability to dive out of a slide.
  • Reduced the distance of a dive.
  • Increased the speed of diving.
  • Dive no longer uses or requires stamina.
  • Removed the ability for Defensive linemen to free roam on defense. The secondary is still allowed to free roam when that option is enabled.
  • Added ineligible receivers to the competitive custom match ruleset.


[h2]General Changes[/h2]
  • Added a mercy rule that prevents the clock from stopping if the game is in a blowout.
  • Moved the goal post back further so that players cant collide with it during play.
  • Added a whistle at the end of each play.
  • Added persistence to the chat channel you were last using.
  • Disabled the AFK timer if the game is paused.
  • Added the ability to change quarter length in custom matches.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Fix a bug causing extra plays to run after the clock has reached 0:00
  • Fixed a bug where a punting team touches the ball they punted in the end zone and forces the other team to start the next play inside the end zone.
  • Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause the ball to curve after it was thrown.
  • Fixed incorrect spelling of Offense in the scoreboard.
  • Fixed a bug where the clock was not stopping on change of possession.
  • Fixed a bug causing a change of possession on third down when the quarter changes.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed a team to call a timeout at the end of the half time and gave the offense the ball for an offensive play instead of kicking off.
