The final version is now available!

Greetings, Captains!

The final version of Between the Stars is here, and with it comes some new additions. We have also fixed some outstanding bugs, so this will be the most polished experience of the game.

The full campaign features over 160 main events, but also over 200 side quests. You have 25 ships to choose from, and you can customize them with the numerous available weapons and abilities.

The final moment has arrived: rise up against the Children of the Sun and save the galaxy!

  • We've added a new module: the Automatic Repair System. This module grants the ability to use repair kits during combat to repair the ship.
  • The Arcade now has additional difficulty levels.
  • The Arcade increases in difficulty when you win at it.
  • When you win at the Arcade, you obtain a credits reward. The reward gets higher as you level up.
  • Event #279 (Retinal Persistence) has been modified. Now a password is no longer required to advance in the event.
  • We've fixed a text loop in event #344 (Reunion) that caused a softlock that didn't allow the player to progress.
  • We've fixed a configuration error that caused the game to freeze when playing it on a Steam Deck.
  • We've fixed a bug that allowed a ship to be destroyed unintentionally with missiles when pausing the battle in order to board it.
  • We've fixed a text error in a button of the mission "The Black Sheep".
  • We've fixed a bug that would cause the same mercenary to be loaded twice, leading to softlocks when trying to add other companions, for example in the "Heads or Tails" mission.
  • We've fixed a softlock that could occur when changing ships.
  • We've fixed a possible softlock in the initialization of the ships.
  • We've solved an error that caused weapons or systems not to be returned to the inventory and be lost when removing them from the scrap shop.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused some medals to get locked if the crewmember they'd been assigned to died.
  • We've fixed an exploit that allowed one to unassign medals for free when putting a crewmember on reserve.
  • Crewmembers on reserve can now have medals assigned to them, but they don't offer bonuses.
  • We've fixed a bug that could cause the stations not to work correctly in the prologue.
  • We've fixed a bug that could cause items to be purchased without subtracting credits.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused codes to be displayed in some event texts instead of displaying the name of a crewmember.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused a softlock in the prologue if a saved game was loaded just before fighting Nartos.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused shields not to load correctly when loading a save game.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused a repeated text to be displayed in the "Requiem" event (the cursed tablet questline).
  • We've fixed a text error in the "Control of Xeah" mission that caused a text to be repeated.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused mission #301 "The Emperor" not to start correctly.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused the difficulty of the random event dice fights not to increase as you progress in the campaign.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused a mismatch between the Simplified Chinese subtitles and the voicelines.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused the inventory to appear in the prologue when the first text event appears.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused controller icons to appear when playing the game with mouse and keyboard.
  • We've changed the color and slightly increased the size of the text indicating the status of the hull in the lower left panel of the interface so that it can be read more clearly.
  • We've fixed a bug in a particle system that caused unnecessary memory allocation.
  • Numerous text errors have been fixed.

Launch Date Announcement

Greetings, Captains!

We are happy to announce that on March 7th Between the Stars will leave Early Access.

Currently, we are working hard to polish the game and fix as many bugs as possible. Thank you very much to all of you who have submitted bug reports, they have been a great help to make Between the Stars a better game.





[h3]What to expect from version 1.0?[/h3]
  • Full campaign: Interplanetary peace is in danger and only a captain can save it. Take on the Children of the Sun through more than 160 main events and restore peace to the Galaxy.
  • Live your own adventure: Meet different characters and discover the wild adventures that await you in more than 200 side events.
  • Manage your resources: Obtain the 25 available ships and numerous weapons and abilities. Manage your crew wisely, and you will be able to overcome any challenge.
  • Live the experience more polished than ever: During the last months we have focused on fixing the pending bugs, as well as polishing the events to improve the experience to the maximum.


As always, we would like to thank all the players who have supported us during Early Access. As you know, things got rocky, but we are at last on the home stretch.

Patch - v0.7.2

  • We have fixed a bug that caused two Blaze to appear when loading the "Tails or Heads" mission.
  • Increased the hull points of Blaze's ship in the "Tails or Heads" mission.
  • We have fixed a bug in the conditions of the Sabotage mission (#298).
  • We have fixed a bug that could occur in the mission "Breadcrumbs" and that caused the game to run out of main missions and not be able to advance in the storyline.
  • We have fixed a bug in the main event #249 that caused buttons related to decisions that the player has not taken to be displayed.
  • We fixed a bug that allowed the player to destroy the Hydra station.
  • We have fixed a text error in Sado Salik's bounty hunter mission that mentioned a man when it was talking about a woman in previous texts.

  • Fixed a bug that caused mercenary ships to reset when equipping them unless the game was saved and reloaded.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause a softlock during the final event.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a softlock when trying to assign a mission in a sector where all zones had events assigned to them.
  • Fixed a bug that caused already dead characters to appear in the Sabotage event.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the "Make a Run for it" achievement to not be given.

Chapter VI: Solar Siege, now available!

Greetings, Captains!

We know it's been a long wait, but the final chapter of the main campaign of Between the Stars is finally available!

In this chapter you will experience the conclusion of the story through more than 50 new events and quests, new music themes composed for the occasion, and more than fifty brand new illustrations for this chapter.

Now that the main story is finished, we will continue working to improve some existing aspects of the game before the final release of version 1.0.


Time to get back to your ships, and experience the conclusion to the war against the Children of the Sun!

  • Some of the old illustrations have been modified.

  • We've added a new defensive system: the AM-380 Anti-Mine Cannon is an anti-aircraft defense system capable of destroying explosive mines. When there are no mines nearby, the AM-380 causes light damage to enemy ships within shot.
  • A new system has been added: Electromagnetic Shielding Generator. It offers the ability Electromagnetic Shielding which makes the ship resistant to any electromagnetic pulse.
  • A new animation has been created for dice rolls. Now, the die with the highest value is highlighted to avoid confusion and doubts about the result of the roll.
  • We've created a new animation for combat dice rolls.
  • We've improved the visual effects of the destruction of the stations.
  • Sheep is now played by another voice actor. We have replaced all the audios of Sheep with the new ones.
  • We've added new Thompson voice audios and replaced the old voice audios. Thompson is now played by another actress.
  • Main missions now always appear first in the objectives list at the top right of the screen.
  • Hit detection is now much more accurate and the detection issues that were experienced previously should have been fixed.
  • Now allied companion spaceships level up and improve their skills.
  • We've reduced the probability of enemies to equip weapons capable of stunning the player.
  • We've reduced the time during which the player is stunned by an enemy attack.
  • Enemies can no longer equip the SB-87 Shield Booster system.
  • The damage caused by enemies to the player has been reduced by 20%.
  • Description has been added to the Lucky attribute.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused the automatic targeting system to stop working when RB was held down using a controller.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused two of the Genesis defensive weapons to be placed on the wrong sides of the ship.
  • Fixed a bug in the game physics that caused ships to accelerate upwards when stationary. This bug also caused performance issues.
  • We've fixed a bug that made the player unable to inspect the Decoded Eye item.
  • We've fixed a bug that allowed the player to enter the inventory and the star map while being in the internal ship's events menu.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused some crewmembers to not die during text events.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused lasers to hit a few meters away from enemy ships.
  • We've fixed a graphical issue that caused a transparent square to appear behind the letters of some texts on small screen resolutions.
  • We've fixed a softlock that occurred if a combat was started with the inventory open.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Captain to be assigned more points than available for their level.
  • Fixed a bug that caused automatic weapons to fire when a battle was paused.
  • Fixed a bug that caused links to neighboring sectors in the star map not to display correctly.
  • Many text errors have been corrected.
  • The game is now fully translated into French.
