Patch Version 9229

Another night, another patch! Version 9229:

  • Potential fix for softlock when viewing the tea leaf object in Thaw.
  • Fix for big slowdown on some GPUs in Seeding when planting a seed.
  • Fix for the game not respecting the quality setting when starting from the main menu.

A fix for a few Mac-specific issues will be up tomorrow. As always, thanks for your patience!

Patch 9221

Hey y'all, thanks for being patient! Here's the patch notes for version 9221:

  • Fixed softlock issues in Thaw and Reflection drinking flashbacks.
  • Prevent going out-of-bounds in the grotto area in Collisions.
  • Fix for softlock caused by clicking the lotus flowers quickly in Gather.
  • Removed a rock that the player could get stuck on in Hunt.
  • Restored the missing manifests on the ships in Pioneer.

Next week we'll be tackling graphical and Mac issues, in addition to anything else that comes up. Thanks again!

Patch Notes - Build 9205

Hey y'all, thanks for being patient! Hopefully this will take care of some of the more common issues so far:

  • Made the Reflections molecule interaction easier to complete, and hopefully fixed the crash issue.
  • Fixed a softlock in Seeding where the player could get stuck on some rocks.
  • Added a seizure warning before the main menu each time the game starts.

Thanks!

Genesis Noir review

If malevolent aliens were designing a Matrix-style simulation to break my spirit, it would culminate in a house party. The party would be underwhelming at most. But then, in the kitchen at 3am, with only warm Tizer and Beefeater Gin left to drink, I would be cornered by a man determined to tell me all about jazz, film noir, and the formation of the universe. At 5am, he would move on to magical realism, and I would begin, stoically, to eat my own hands.

There’s nothing wrong with any of these things, of course. But they are frequently used as signifiers of being extremely clever by properly ghastly blokes. They make me wary. As such, then, when I started downloading Genesis Noir - a magical realist point and click adventure about jazz, film noir, and the formation of the universe - my hands started looking pretty tasty.
