Today, we're excited to announce that the fresh build for the Nuclear Update just landed on Steam public_testing and nuclear_update_preview branches! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‘

Devlog #83 - Nuclear Update's first patches

The Occupy Mars team is very grateful to you for the overall positive reception of the โ˜ข๏ธ Nuclear Update! We've been closely following your feedback, keeping the developers updated with reported bugs, and we're happy to announce that, as a result, today we can bring you another update with fixes. ๐Ÿ‘

[h3]Changelog 0.152.7 -> 0.152.10 (public_testing and nuclear_update_preview)[/h3]

We've focused on ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ fixing the most critical bugs, including the one with the well, and we've also improved the sandstorm ๐ŸŒช๏ธ system a bit, since you've often reported inconveniences related to this particular event.

What we have fixed:
  • incorrect pump input value
  • discrepancy between the value given by the well and the spectral detector
  • bug with hanging in the air after save reload
  • excluded small miner to be received in a supply drop
  • shortened sandstorm event duration
  • improved notifications about sandstorm event

We have decided to release it on the beta branches first because we want to gather your feedback ๐Ÿ’ฌ regarding any bugs, and most importantly, the necessary balance and economic changes following the introduction of new mechanics.

Although we've been testing it for some time, this version may contain bugs ๐Ÿ› so, just in case, please first backup your save files located in:

Devlog #81 even more Nuclear Update news!

Greetings, Martians! ๐Ÿš€


We are ready to reveal more news that the upcoming Nuclear Update โ˜ข๏ธ contains for you. You have already learned what supply drops are and how they work. One of the next special events you may encounter during gameplay is:
[h2]Probes๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ[/h2]


Keep an eye ๐Ÿ‘€ on your tablet; sometimes you might receive a signal from a probe. If you choose to follow the signal, a dedicated tracking point ๐Ÿ“ will appear on your screen. The event is not time-limited, so you don't have to rush, but hey, who doesn't want to reveal the mystery already? ๐Ÿ˜

Probes contain pendrives which are small electronic devices carrying technology data.


You can get it out of the probe and insert it into the corresponding science bench. The bench will decode the pendrive and you will be rewarded with experience points. ๐Ÿ’ก You can use any bench you want or have access to, but using the appropriate one will give you the most experience points, so choose wisely!


We've also added two additional Historical Sites - Mars3 lander and Mariner probe. So get ready to go on an expedition and try to find them. And if you're a kind of photographer soul - take a screenshot ๐Ÿ“ธ of them, we'd love to see it!

Greetings, Martians!


The upcoming Nuclear Update โ˜ข๏ธ hides new features and mechanics - but what are these? As promised, we're going to reveal the mystery, step by step in the devlogs, and this is one of them!

[h2]๐Ÿš€ Supply Drops[/h2]


You can now expect packages ๐Ÿ“ฆ of essential equipment and resources from the E.R.A. If there is a supply drop scheduled somewhere in your area, you will get a notification. Follow the coordinates from notification ๐Ÿ“ and see what's inside! ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

[h2]๐Ÿš€ Automated Miners[/h2]


There are small and big Miners - both were designed to facilitate the mining โ›๏ธ process by retrieving the resources straight from underground sources.



Use the new functionality of your spectral detector (which needs to be upgraded to lvl 3) or the Heavy Rover (unlock new technology to use it) to scan your surroundings in search for resource spots and build the automated miner* in the most convenient place.
*Miners require uranium rods to work.
