Prepping for the release
Greetings to all peppers!
Dust off your trench-coats and fasten your seatbelts, here's an update!
During the last few days we have had a battle to fight and some decisions to make. The content we created for Mr.Prepper has been thoroughly tested which lead us to discuss whether we are prepared to release the game. We were initially aiming to launch the game in May and were doing our utmost best to meet that vision and deadline. During our journey we have been fighting against bugs, content size and mechanics that should be implemented into the game to make it the very best we possibly can. Then it hit us and we realised that the game could be released... however, there was a possibility of making the game even better! We don't want Mr.Prepper to be a one-shot game that you will all eventually forget about. We want this game to be an adventure that is so enjoyable and immersive that you want us to expand upon it in the future. Hence we made a choice; we are not going to be releasing Mr.Prepper this month.
We are aware of the sheer amount of people waiting for Mr.Prepper's release, we are also aware that we could simply release the game, take the money and be happy that we "finished the job". However, deep down we don't want to release it right now as we have a plethora of ideas (some of which were suggested by you) and we really believe the game will be even better if we implement them first!
Having said this, we also know that some of you will be frustrated by this news having anticipated an imminent release date. Please accept our deepest apologies. As indie developers we got a bit over excited and are not experienced with such estimations, especially with a new product we are making from scratch. We are not fully aware what we will come up with next to make the game even better, but rest assured there is a plan. But a plan is never good enough when it comes to improvements; some of them are simple and some of them are forcing us to recreate, replan, and reconstruct the game's mechanics which as a result consumes time.
In our defence I can say that we are not asking for any money, pre-orders etc. We are just trying to make the game be the very best it possibly can and the only thing we ask for is your patience. If you give us time, we will give you a lot of joy and adventure together with Mr.Prepper.
To assure you that we are really working on the game, we are releasing other game teaser that will show you some new things. Starting now, we will be releasing more trailers and screenshots of the game as a lot of content is ready to be shown.
Unfortunately the release date will not be set in this update. We have failed you in that regard and we don't want to fail you again. This does not mean that the game will be released in 2022, we are just not certain about which month we will be completely satisfied with releasing the game.
Please don't let this demotivate you though as we are going to be informing you more often about the production status and give you more media-based content updates to give you an idea of how advanced the production is for this project.

P.S.
For those who think that postponing the game isn't fair - we strongly believe that releasing a non-completed game is not fair. We are not a big game corporation, we are just a couple of enthusiasts who are passionate about making games. Rest assured we will only release the game when we feel it is 100% complete, not just when we are forced to by upcoming deadlines. :)
Kind regards,
Rejected games.
