Freakshow:Anniversary News

Hey guys! I want to start making devlogs to talk about updates and features about the game!

#1: The soundtrack! (+new name!)

Yes the official sound track is available to download on steam!
It will be available to everyone to download (for free!)

Also a few of you might have noticed the description a bit! ;)

The name will be changed to “Freakshow:Anniversary”!
I’ll prop explain the name in a future devlog! But for now. That’s all you get!



#2: Circus games

The circus games (maze, hammer game, cup game, etc..) they will not be in the final product! The only one making a return is “The duck game” you’ll need to buy it at the prize shop! But you’ll get tokens for playing!



I will be replacing the circus games with 8 new mini games! (You’ll need to buy in the shop for 1500 tokens)

Won’t talk about them much yet, but I can say that there 100% done!


#3: Story mode!

Story mode will be spilt into “chapters” one and two!

Chapter one: This will be the story of “origins” fully recoded from the ground up! I started coding this section... not done yet! But so far there’s an inventory system, heart beat mechanic, puzzles and more! Can’t wait to show you!



Chapter two: This will be the story of “freakshow 2” reimagined, a new story (reworked!) and hopefully interesting mechanics... haven’t worked on this chapter yet!

#4: voice acting!

Currently I have filled all the roles with new voice actors! I wanted the voices to be the same throughout the entire game!
Currently waiting for all the clips to come in and start working on that!


#5: Early access!

Cause this game is early access, I’ll release a version when the trailer comes out! (Roughly a month before the final release). This should give me enough time to iron out any bugs!

Also a week or two before the trailer, I’ll make another update because I’ll be removing the original version “freakshow 2” and putting it on a different site! (Gamejolt)

The day the trailer comes out, I’ll also update all the art work+description!


#6: Achievements!

I know some of you got 100% for my game. Sadly the new version will have a new set of achievements. So the old ones will be deleted and replaced with new ones! (+new art!) but one good thing is that not all will be deleted! Some will stay. Like example: “borf” will stay with some new art! Anyway I’ll keep you posted on the ones that will stay and the ones that will go!


Okay so that was my major updates that I wanted to talk about!

I’m here to say that the game isn’t dead! I started a big project for it. I’ve decided to re-work everything. The game will be reworked from the ground up!

Currently working on changing:

• The story (will be more understandable)
  
• The name! (It won’t be called freakshow 2, it will have name that fits)
  
• Gameplay (redoing all the base mechanics, even added some new ones! Exemple: an inventory)
  
• Achievements (because it’s no longer the same game, new achievements!) sorry achievements hunters that already collected everything!
  
• And more!
  

Currently I’m working on getting it done sometime late next year. (I’m a one man team) But I might stream my progress (Game dev streams)

Also the name change and new logos will be next year when I’m close to being done!

Sorry for the lack of updates in the past months, kinda been all over the place with my studies! But I wanted to finish the game and make it worth your time! (The game was in early access!) but thank you for playing the early version and sticking with me till now!

Also, what will happen with the one here (the original game) on steam? Most likely I’ll remove it when I put up the new version and upload the old one on the side or different site! (It’s part of history!)

Hey guys Kevin here!
I don’t make a lot of updates, but I added Freakshow origins (freakshow 1 made in 2017) to steam! Yes the DLC! When you run freakshow 2, you get the option to play it! Thank you for sticking with me! This is my first game on steam and it takes a few tries to learn!

Also freakshow 2, still waiting for textures! (Need to afford them!) but enjoy freakshow 1! There’s no achievements yet** I’ll see if I updated it with those features! :)

Hey guys, it’s been awhile, hasn’t it? I’m sorry I haven’t been more active on the project, I haven’t abandoned it.


Where have I been?

I’ve been busy with cooking school, moved in the summer and also changed job.. been eating up a lot of my time,

So I haven’t abandoned the project, I’ll be back working on it soon,

I’m looking for suggestions on how to make it better! So leave a comment here and I’ll read them!

Also for the background... I’m not an artist so I have to commission my art, backgrounds can be expensive, so be patience while I work on getting that done! :)

I came back cause I got a question regarding one of the achievements and thought I would update you guys!

Still thank you all for supporting this! I’m working to save up money to get the backgrounds finished! Till then I’ll tweak the gameplay and such! (Following the suggestions from you guys!)

One last thing... during the summer, I was tweaking the first game (not on steam) and was wondering, if I finished working on it and remastered the first game, would you guys like it on steam? :) cause I got everything: the art, voice acting (prop will do some touch ups) and everything! I just need to do lots of coding! Or should I start something original? As I wait to commission someone for the background art?
