Proto An'ura [5.1.10]

Proto An'ura event is now live! Get a stockpile of gold while you can.

In other news, I have another project I'm working on so development will be slow this week. This is the perfect time to report any bugs you might find as I'll be able to fix them immediately without worrying about anything else breaking.

Proto An'ura will be live until April 01, 2022. However, there may be some changes to it between now and then ;Y

Reminder that this build removes Veil boss rooms from the game which were not Timelost or save restricted. If you load your game and it crashes immediately, use the following steps to revert to 5.1.9:
Step 1: Right click Cross of Auria in the list of games on Steam.
Step 2: Click Properties.
Step 3: Navigate to the Betas tab of the Properties menu.
Step 4: On the Beta tab, select "Game Ver 5.1.9" from the drop down. There is no password required.
Step 5: Let the game update, then check the game version on the Info tab of the main menu.
Step 6: Move Ruby from the zone which caused a crash on loading. Safe places to save are typically the Veil and the World Map.
To rejoin us in 5.1.10, select "None" from the list of available builds in the Betas tab of Properties.
Warning: Bugs detected in 5.1.9 will not be patched along that build.

5.1.10 [Build #131, Release Date: March 01, 2022] Bugs to look for: Report them as a comment to the most recent patch notes.
- The use of any skill crashes the game. Report which skill it was or which enemy or character used the skill. This would have been a result of the zoom removal change.

New:
- Cross of Auria's third limited event is now live - Proto An'ura! The red rift in the veil now connects to a single expanded version of Den An'ura where every bug defeated drops an An'ura Coin which can be sold for 50G. In addition to the An'ura Coin, An'ura enemies also have a fixed 10% chance to drop each of the following: Essence of Life, Essence of Magick, Green Insect Fragment, Green Insect Gland, Green Insect Parts, Green Insect Weapon Parts, Green Insect Armor Parts, An'ura Coin, Poisonous Essence, Health Potion. Saving is restricted. An'ura enemies are level 25. Beware of the frostbrood wing.

Updates & Changes:
- Single battle Veil bosses can now be selected from the first blue rift. The data for their individual rooms and other rifts have been removed from the game.
- Ryban has been moved to the blue rift boss selection. The nearby Watcher will sell the mutant recipe book for 10000G.
- Removed zoom effect from most single target elemental skills.
- The Weak Tool-Kit chest in Port Reception will disappear once the party picks it up, or will be automatically invisible if one was obtained from any other source.
- The Item Shop in Auria no longer sells armor or schematics. In their place are high priced tier 3 healing items.
- The Armorsmith in Auria now sells the Stalwart pieces formerly sold by the Item Shop
- Craftable Mutant gear now has 2 fixed upgrade slots.
- Ignition Defender now has fixed 0 upgrade slots.
- Silvered accessories now have fixed 0 upgrade slots.
- Resistance accessories, cloak, and weapons now have fixed 0 upgrade slots.
- Galebrand, silver weapons, and Mantis Sickle now have fixed 0 upgrade slots.
***Note: Changes to upgrade slots only applies to newly acquired gear. It will not remove or add slots to already obtained gear.***

5.1.10 Preview / Warning!

Warning: 5.1.10 removes three maps from the game that did not have save restrictions. Therefore, until April 1st 2022, 5.1.9 will remain as an optionally selectable build. If you load your save and are immediately met with a game crash, use the steps included with the patch notes to change your game version back to 5.1.9, then save in a different location. Steps for reverting the game version will be included in the official patch notes on Tuesday. The three removed maps are boss rooms accessible from the Veil rifts.

REMINDER! 5.1.10 will remove all currently Timelost zones from the game files. Because of the issue listed above, there's a one month grace period for downloading 5.1.9 and exiting them while you can. Beginning April 1st, it will be impossible to load save files which would spawn in any zone currently named "Timelost Zone".

Issues arising from players not exiting Timelost Zones will not be addressed. Put simply, it would take you less time to start a new save file and get to where you were than it would take me to develop fixes for a situation that had months of notice to avoid. Since CoA doesn't engage in truly missable limited time events, I can safely say that I don't feel badly about this decision at all. Sorry
Just a reminder to anyone who hasn't picked up the Recipe Book from Reaper in the Veil yet - the special discounted price is about to end. Ryban will move to the new special boss selection rift starting on Tuesday with the release of 5.1.10!

5.1.10 Highlights
- New limited event: Proto An'ura! The red rift in the Veil will now take Ruby to a modified expanded version of Den An'ura where all themed enemies will drop An'ura Coins, making every enemy worth 50G plus their standard G drops. Additionally, Green Insect items have a fixed 10% drop from all unit types. Saving in this zone is restricted. For those looking for a challenge, something is brewing in the Frostbrood wing. The rewards for this extra battle are EXP and G.
-- Proto An'ura will last until April 1st, 2022. After that point, the Proto An'ura map will be fitted with the in-game events and replace the current multi-map setup of Den An'ura. These zones won't become timelost until the new version enters the game.
- Veil boss rooms have been replaced with a single rift which connects to all available extra battles.
- Ryban has been moved from the current event to the boss rift selection. The corresponding recipe book is now available from the nearby Watcher for 10000G, up from its original 2000G cost. Unlike the previous event creatures, there was no natural place in the world to stick this unit for now. Until there is, it'll remain as a Veil-only battle.

5.1.10 will go live on Tuesday March 01, 2022.

5.1.9 Update

It's high time for the citizens of Lvell to begin their preparations. 5.1.9 introduces two Phoenix Ash quests to get the ball rolling.

With the introduction of the fourth automaton in the Hall of Challengers, the first wing is complete. The next wing will offer similar rewards with a different theme of battles.

5.1.9 [Build #130, Release Date: February 25, 2022] Bugs to look for: Report them as a comment to the most recent patch notes.
- Unable to activate the third jump in Nexus Waterway.

New:
- Phoenix Ash members have requests for Ruby in Port Reception.
- Mao has some interesting items available for trade in Port Reception.
- The fourth Automaton is ready for battle in the Hall of Challengers.

Changes:
- It is now possible to activated the third jump in Nexus Waterway after progressing the campaign. Return to this location from Raphael's Tower in the southwest corner of Revan.

Fixes:
- Minor terrain changes to The Black Forest.
- Fixed a dialogue issue with a chest in Black Forest.
- Fixed an issue where Drahkin Egg battles would appear after the related quest was complete.

5.1.8.2 - Emergency Fix

A player reported being unable to turn in the Hephaes book to Ewynn, and I've finally figured out why specifically it's happening. Regardless, I've added a debug to his dialogue where he wouldn't acknowledge the book and layering requirements for his future dialogue. Theoretically, this should work.

Detailed issue: Rabbit's Foot Missive I would allow players to skip the part of the dialogue where Ewynn would request Ruby and Alex to retrieve the book, while adding to the internal counter that said the step had been passed. When returning to Ewynn after finishing Missive I, the player still was holding the book but all the switches were turned off where Ewynn would react.

5.1.8.2 [Build #128, Release Date: February 23, 2022]
Bugs to look for: Report them as a comment to the most recent patch notes.
- If you at any point can't progress Rabbit's Foot: Missive I or Hephaes, Lord of Flame, please reach out ASAP.

Fixes:
- Attempted to fix an issue where Ewynn would allow Ruby to begin the Rabbit's Foot Missive I quest before requiring her to obtain the book referenced in that quest.

Edit: Later this night, another Living Water situation was discovered by a player. 5.1.8.3 is already live.

5.1.8.3 [Build #129, Release Date: February 23, 2022]
Bugs to look for: Report them as a comment to the most recent patch notes.
- Unusual enemies appear in a battle they should not.

New (Port Reception):
- A weapons vendor is now available.

Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where Living Waters replaced An'ura Soldiers in the An'rim Operant battle.

5.1.8.1 - Emergency Fix

Fix to the second Hive Mind battle. This issue was introduced in the update which reduced the number of similar type enemies at different levels which existed throughout the game, leaving a much more difficult enemy in place of An'ura Soldiers.

For reference, the Living Water was a level 12 enemy accidentally in place of level 4 enemies. If you were stuck at this part, it is now passable without significant grinding.

5.1.8.1 [Build #127, Release Date: February 22, 2022]
Bugs to look for: Report them as a comment to the most recent patch notes.
- Any battle ends with no enemies appearing.

Fixes:
- Removed the water/ice enemies from the Den An'ura battle. Replaced with An'ura Warrior and Archers.
- Fixed empty Cleave+ area battles.

Updates & Changes:
- Diminish Agility for 3 turns now replaces Slow for all Ice magic.
- Minor terrain changes to Scarlet Cavern.
