Mars Horizon is basically Kerbal Space Program Tycoon, and it hits Steam in November

If you've got a major need for space games in the leadup to Kerbal Space Program 2, there's a solid alternative on the, er, horizon in the form of Mars Horizon. Rather than the simulation-first space exploration of Kerbal, Mars Horizon is about the day-to-day operations of a space agency in the style of the great tycoon games. And after numerous betas and demos, it's finally set to hit Steam in November.


Mars Horizon hits Steam on November 17, developer Auroch Digital has announced. The studio hasn't yet committed to a price, so no pre-orders either - but you can hit the Steam page to keep an eye out for further info on that front. You can also grab a demo there for an early look at what to expect from the game.


From the start of the space age through eventual Mars landings, Mars Horizon puts you in command of an agency trying to stay ahead in the competitive market of shooting metal death capsules through space. You can choose to emphasise the 'race' part of the space race, or slow things down to focus on more reasonable R&D.

Mars Horizon is launching 17th November 2020!⭐


We're super excited to announce that Mars Horizon will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on November 17th 2020! The Auroch Digital team, along with our publisher The Irregular Corporation, have been working hard on the game and we can’t wait to share it with you.

The game was created with the support of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the UK Space Agency. Both organisations have been integral to making Mars Horizon the game we wanted it to be so we'd like to say an extra big thank you to them!

Very soon you will be able to run your own space agency and get humanity to the red planet. In the meantime, we've got a demo of the game for you to try on our Steam page, make sure to check it out!

Tim Peake became the first official British astronaut to walk in space while on a mission to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2016. He spent six years training for the mission, beating 8,000 other applicants who responded to an ad from the ESA entitled, ‘Do you want to be an astronaut?’. Tim worked on every one of his 186 days in space with the majority of his experiments focussing on what space does to human physiology.

He also, with help from celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal, enjoyed the first bacon sandwich to ever be consumed in space! 🥪
