NEW FEATURE: DATA PADS

A new reward system is coming to replace the Special Delivery! Previously, you needed Coins to open Bronze and Silver Chests or a Golden Bingo cell. Now you'll have Data Pads: special blocks that contain different types of rewards. There will be more than 3 Data Pads, and their contents will be instantly available to you once you open them.

You will be able to earn Data Pads just the same way you did with Coins: some of them will be available at the start of the event, through event tasks and Operation Pass and also via Leaderboards and other sources.

GOLD REBALANCE & UPGRADE CHANGES

As promised, we rebalanced our currency sources so you could get more from Daily Quests, the Supply Center and Workshop level-ups. Gold is coming your way!

We’ve also decreased the amount of Memorium needed for upgrading the ranks of regular and Legendary Robot Pilots by 25%.

However, reducing the upgrade timers requires more work than anticipated, as the entire timer system has to be reworked. We are still planning this change, but it will have to be implemented in one of our future updates.

NEW ROBOT: OCHOKOCHI

In Georgian myths and legends, it is said that Ochokochi was a fierce part-human, part-goat creature. It trampled hunters and pierced them with a big horn protruding from its chest. And now, there is a robot named in its honor galloping across the battlefields of War Robots and crushing the enemy with similar abilities! It has 2 Medium and 2 Light hard points, as well as the Stampede ability that will be familiar to any Minos pilot. The robot can accelerate and activate a destructive magnetic field around itself. Any enemies in the way will be damaged and knocked back.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
However, there is a slight difference. While the ability is active, Ochokochi converts all incoming damage into Damage over Time (DoT) stacks. That means it can live through all those shots that would have taken it out as it gets close to the enemy. Damage will still be taken, but it won’t be as great: Ochokochi also has Corrosion Protection as its passive ability, which reduces the DoT it takes, whatever the source. Don't try to spray this goat with acid!

NEW WEAPONS: BRISANT, SHATTER, SPLINTER

Historically, all shotguns are usually great at close quarters, but get weaker at longer ranges due their huge spread. Brisant (Heavy), Shatter (Medium) and Splinter (Light) are a different breed: they retain their 100% accuracy at 250m, where their bullets start to split into pellets. That means that maximum damage is dealt up close. Don’t worry that your target will be too fast so it can get away from you: these shotguns also apply the Slowdown effect, so there's no easy escape if the enemy is in range.

NEW DRONE: HIRUKO

A fine addition to the Ochokochi build, Hiruko also possesses a complex but unique ability. Upon using an active module, it extends the robot’s Durability, but also applies a DoT effect, which adds up to the exact same amount as the Durability it extends. It is almost like taking a loan — you'll need to pay back this extra amount, but you can still repair it. It also passively boosts the damage of a robot, which also depends on the DoT stacks it has at the moment. Everything synergizes!

NEW ULTIMATE EDITIONS: MENDER, IGNITER, BLAZE

The legendary healer is back, faster, tougher, more powerful and repairing even more than before. It is much more stylish as well! Besides increased stats, Mender also gains new properties after upgrading. First of all, its armor becomes immune to Defense Mitigation. And secondly, once it reaches 0, it can repair itself with a big chunk of Durability once per battle, similarly to the Reviver Drone.

Ultimate flamethrowers are also coming along, now both dealing more damage and applying Slowdown. There’s no way to run from the flames anymore!

NEW PILOTS: VEPKHO LOVIDZE

Born in a middle class family at the Yan-Di colony, Vepkho fell in love with a daughter of one of the members of the Board of Directors. When she was kidnapped, no one in Yan-Di seemed to care, so he was the only one who decided to leave the colony behind and look for her. On the way, he met and joined the Knights of the Order — a noble and proud organization opposed to all of the corporations on Mars. They agreed to help Vepkho, but only at a time of dire need. Will he be able to reclaim his lost lover?

Vepkho's Fortitude: Ochokochi gains defense points for each active DoT effect it is under.

EVENT TITLES

There’s also a little something from us that will make you stand out as the player who played 9.4 the most. Introducing Event Titles: exclusive seasonal rewards for players who completed all of the Title requirements, such as destroying robots with Ochokochi or shotguns, capturing beacons or opening Data Pads. Earn the Beast title and show everyone your power and dedication!

NEW ROBOT: ANGLER

Angler might look like a nice big target for your shotguns, but you’d better keep your distance. His Electric Shift ability allows him to enter a similar state to a Phase Shift, except it will also increase his speed and will deal damage to all enemies around him for 5 seconds. At the end of it, it applies blind status effect to everyone who was affected for 3 seconds. Don’t get lured into its light!

Angler is a perfect brawler so you’re welcome to pick your favorite close-ranged weapons and charge into the fight.

NEW WEAPONS: CLAW, JAW, TALON

Light, medium, and heavy rocket launchers with homing projectiles and 350m range. Each hit will make your enemy weaker – they apply Rust and Fragility effects, which lower the robot's defenсe points and any incoming repair. Wear them down and tear their defenses to shreds!

NEW PILOTS: ANNA BASARAB, MARKUS

Some say that Anna Basarab is a ruthless boss with strict principles. Some – that she’s a reliable partner and collector with fine taste. Some even know her as a knowledgeable technician, an expert on old Earth relics and mechanisms. There are even rumors that she’s not entirely human, originally not from Yan-Di… Maybe they’re all right, but they’re missing one thing: her reputation and looks are as deadly as her piloting skills.

Anna’s Lifedrain: While Mars’ Remote Assault is active, it gets an additional speed increase, as well as repairing some of its Durability when the ability ends. The extent of the repair depends on the damage dealt while the detachable turret was on the battlefield.

He was an android once, helping his master craft technological wonders that sold for a hefty price on a black market. Until one of the deals went south and he ended up as a piece of junk on a scrapyard. But then Anna came along: she breathed a new life into an android and named him Markus. Now he is faithfully serving his new master, though sometimes he’s wondering: maybe there’s something more to his life?

Markus’ Data Transfer: Angler’s ability duration increased.

NEW PASSIVE MODULE: IMMUNE AMPLIFIER

After taking some amount of damage, your robot will receive a small bonus to its maximum Durability for the entire battle. After reaching 30 of those bonuses, the robot will become immune to Freeze, after 60 – to Lockdown and after 90 (maximum) – to Suppresion. All immunities stay active for the entire battle. Your robot initially gets passive bonuses to Durability and Speed as well.

When installing several such modules, the speed of receiving bonuses increases, but not their maximum amount.

NEW TURRET: DURABILITY EXTENDER

Plain and simple: it increases your robot’s maximum durability when activated. And yes, those effects stack!

UPGRADE TOKEN

Starting with this update all upgrades from 12mk2 to 1mk3 require special Upgrade Tokens instead of gold. These tokens are awarded as a sign of special recognition to the best and most experienced Commanders. Only they give the right to access the rarest and most valuable components needed to upgrade robots and weapons to mk3.

For now these tokens are obtainable via Leaderboards and resource Operation Passes. We see the future of the mk3 grade as a thing of prestige for the most devoted players and an opportunity for them to stand out even among the maxed hangars of the Champion league.

PILOTS REBALANCE
These changes will go live later during 8.5. We will announce them separately in all our social media.

Pilots have been introduced in an update 5.1, at a time when there were no Titans, Drones or Motherships. Their base skills stayed the same since then, so now it’s time to do some reworking and also introduce new ones. During this rebalance we aim to make Pilots more universal and make their different groups of robots more even in terms of gaining damage, speed and durability.

All skills’ stats below are shown as their Legendary tier versions, fully upgraded.

  • Road Hog: Robot has increased speed: 12.3-18.75% → 15%. Bonus is universal and will be applied no matter the robots' top speed.
  • Armor Expert: The robot has increased durability: 12.5-18.75% → 15%. Bonus is universal and will be applied no matter robots’ max durability.
  • Master Gunsmith: The robot deals increased weapon damage: 3.2-6.25% → 5%. Bonus is universal and will be applied no matter robots’ weapons.
  • Energy Shield Expert: The robot's energy shield has increased capacity: 18.75-25% → 25%. Bonus is universal and will be applied no matter the robot.
  • Adamant Guardian: If the enemy team controls 3 or more beacons, the robot gets increased damage resistance: 31.25 → 40.
  • Adamant Gunsmith: If the enemy team controls 3 or more beacons, the robot deals increased weapon damage: 9.5% → 12%.
  • True Ace: The robot repairs more durability with its ability: 12.5% → 18.75% . Nightingale and Khepri pilots now can also get this ability.
  • Guidance Operator: The robot locks onto targets faster: 65% → 75%.
  • Powerman: The weapon accumulates charges faster: 25% → 30%.
  • Survivor, Thrill Seeker: The robot deals increased weapon damage, but its speed/durability is lowered. Weapon damage increased: 6.25% → 8.5%.
  • Spy, Tough Guy: The robot has increased speed/durability, but its weapon damage is lowered. Lowered weapon damage: 3.1% → 2.5%.
  • Bounty Hunter: Destroying an enemy robot increases the robot's weapon damage for 5 seconds: 7.5% → 15%.
  • Thrill Seeker: The robot deals increased weapon damage, but its durability is lowered. New robots will be able to use this skill: Ao Jun, Hawk, Fafnir, Seraph, Cerberus, Angler.
  • Survivor: The robot deals increased weapon damage, but its speed is lowered. New robots will be able to use this skill: Ravana, Behemoth, Shell, Bulwark, Ao Guang, Ao Qin.
  • Tough Guy: The robot has increased durability, but its weapon damage is lowered. New robots will be able to use this skill: Ravana, Shell, Typhon, Cerberus, Erebus.
  • Cautious Pilot: The robot has increased durability, but its speed is lowered. New robots will be able to use this skill: Nightingale, Angler, Weyland, Mender.
  • Spy: The robot has increased speed, but its weapon damage is lowered. New robots will be able to use this skill: Angler, Ao Jun, Hawk, Fafnir.
  • Scout: The robot has increased speed, but its durability is lowered. New robots will be able to use this skill: Ares, Typhon, Hades, Nemesis, Nightingale.
  • Daredevil, Ghost, Traditionalist: The robot's damage/speed/durability increases, but its active ability becomes unavailable. New robots will be able to use this skill: Shell, Revenant, Angler, Typhon, Cerberus, Erebus, Carnage, Fenrir.
  • Wonderworker: After activating its ability, the robot repairs a portion of its maximum durability. New robots will be able to use this skill: Seraph, Hawk, Shell, Angler, Harpy, Siren, Orochi, Revenant, Fafnir, Scorpion, Phantom.

We’ve also added some new Pilots’ skills:

  • Wise Opportunist: Destroying an enemy robot increases your Defense Points for 5 seconds.
  • Cunning Opportunist: Destroying an enemy robot increases your Movement Speed for 5 seconds.
  • Ninja: After capturing a beacon, your robot increases its Movement Speed for 30 seconds.
  • Customization Adept: Your robot has more Durability, but its Shield Durability is reduced.
  • Explosives Expert: Damage you deal with your robot has a larger explosion radius.
  • Stubborn Warrior: As long as your robot has low Durability, it gains additional Defense Points.
  • Stubborn Speedster: As long as your robot has low Durability, it gains additional movement speed.
  • Engine Expert: Your robot has increased movement speed while its ability is active.
  • Defense Expert: Your robot has increased resistance while its ability is active.
  • Destroyer: Your robot deals increased weapon damage while its ability is active.

Some Pilots don’t get as much attention from players as others. It’s about time we reinvigorate the meta of the lower leagues and put a spotlight on our underdogs:

  • Boris Crow: After activating its ability, Cerberus' damage is increased for 5 seconds: 15%→20%
  • Jack Moore: Each time Strider's ability is activated, it deals increased damage for 8 seconds. The increase stacks up to 5 times: 5%→7%
  • Ariadne Shaw: Pursuer's ability lasts longer: 20%→25%
  • Kyle Rogers (Inquisitor): Inquisitor repairs a portion of its maximum durability each second: 0.75% → 1.00%
  • Kang Strong: Ao Guang deals increased ability damage: 15%→20%
  • Basil Lapatte: Weapons with a range of 800+ meters deal increased damage: 7.5%→10%
  • Olga Minina: Phantom's ability lasts longer: 20%→25%
  • Isabella Porter: Damage redirected by the Leech's ability is increased, while the incoming damage is reduced by only 70% → 80%
  • Amalia Itegumo: Haechi gets Defense Points: 20→30
  • Nicolas Wodanson: Fenrir has increased Defense Points while its ability is active: 25→40
  • Tal Mokri: Spectre deals increased weapon damage while its ability is active: 7.5% → 10%
  • Stanislav Chen: Invader has increased Suppression effect: 20% → 25%

Finally, we've also made it easier to find needed Legendary Pilots in the Training Center. Now there will always be at least 1 Legendary Pilot, even after refreshing!

NEW ROBOT: MARS

Mars is the first robot that comes fitted with a detachable turret. While seated on the robot’s hull, the turret serves as an additional gun, automatically firing at the enemies within aiming range. When deployed on the ground, the turret becomes autonomous. It will fire at the closest available target and will only focus on your target if you press the ability button again while keeping an enemy robot within your aiming reticle.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Mars doesn’t excel at close-range brawls, but can deal devastating damage with clever use of cover. Mid-range weapons are recommended for Mars.

NEW WEAPON: FAINTER

This mid-range energy machine gun deals huge amounts of damage in one burst when fully charged and sustains moderate damage at low charge thanks to continuous reload. Fainter accumulates Lock-down effect on the target, rooting it in place after a certain number of hits.

NEW PILOTS: CAPTAIN CLYDE, KATE O’DONNEL
Captain Clyde: Mars turret fires at an increased rate and deals increased damage.

As a leader of a boarding squad, Clyde survived many pitched battles on board corporation ships. Fortune is a fickle friend though. Clyde lost everything in one of those fights and ended up in DSC prison. He escaped just recently and is now looking for revenge. Beware the sails of Griffin’s Fury! She’s on the hunt.

Kate O’Donnel: Weapons deal increased damage against targets affected by Lock-down.

The adopted daughter of Captain Clyde, Kate commands her own squad now. She makes sure that no valuable tech escapes the battlefield one way or another and makes corporate merchants regret cutting back on convoy expenses.

NEW MOTHERSHIP: FROZEN SCORN

The ship drops a thermal bomb on the enemy position. All affected targets will move slower and keep receiving damage over time as long as they remain in the area of effect. Frozen Scorn comes equipped with 2 protection and 1 support turret slots.

CHANGES TO LEAGUE SYSTEM
These changes will go live later during 8.4. We will announce them separately in all our social media.

With this update we introduce league drop limits. After entering a new league, you won’t fall below a certain rating threshold, no matter how many battles you lose. Champion accounts, for example, will never end up anywhere below the Expert league. Masters will be locked above the Diamond league, and so on. See the table below for exact rating values.

Our main goal here is to prevent players from dropping their league rating on purpose and protect new arrivals from veterans looking for easy prey. We will continue addressing reports of purposeful inactivity in combat even after these changes take place.

We are also removing qualifications from the league system. When a new season begins, your account will be placed at exactly the same rating as at the end of the previous season. No need for the extra five trial matches. The mechanics of the Champion league, however, remain unchanged. All accounts in that league get their rating reset to 5,000 at the end of each season.

NEW SHENZHEN

The Shenzhen map receives an overhaul. We’ve reworked building models, textures, and overall lighting to update it to Remastered standards. The geometry of the map has also received some tweaks to accommodate for the arrival of Titans, as Shenzhen was a part of the game before Titans were introduced.

At the same time, we’re saying goodbye to the night version of older Shenzhen. Revamping it would take just as much time and we’d rather focus on our next rework. More news on that to follow in future updates.

POSTCOMBAT SCREEN UPDATE

You can now view mini-profiles of players from other platforms by tapping on them in the battle score screen. The mini-profile will show nickname, ID, and league. The option to report the player will also be available on that screen.

BUGS FIXED

EVENT: EARTH RECLAMATION DAY
The event will start soon after 8.3 lands on your platform. The event task chain will be available in the Operations interface.

NEW TITAN: INDRA

A testament to the extravagance of Yan Di upper class. This is the first titan that walks on three legs, this is the first titan that disappears into Phase Shift to avoid damage, and this is the first titan that ensnares enemies with a power net. They sure know how to show off!
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Indra features 1 Alpha and 2 Beta weapon slots. Most of the time you will see it equipped for close range. Try maintaining distance. Not only is it perfectly suited for melee, but its power net also explodes if the target stays within range long enough. The explosion will deal damage to your robot and restore some durability to Indra.

NEW WEAPONS: VAJRA, MAHA-VAJRA

Both cannons send lightning balls to a distance of up to 500 meters. The energy projectiles mess with the target’s engines, slowing it down. The more projectiles hit the target, the slower it moves. Due to low accuracy, Vajra and Maha-Vajra work best at close range.

NEW PILOTS: VICTORIA, DR. OTTO
Victoria: Seraph stays in the air longer and gets increased speed while flying.

Victoria prefers chasing her dream as a combat pilot rather than following the beaten path of a social career in the colony. And what better way to do so than to join Wild Fire, the Iskra’s revolutionary crew?

Dr. Otto: Radiation and plasma weapons get increased fire rate (works on Blight, Hazard, Decay, Magnum, Taran, and Redeemer).

An adept of nuclear physics, Otto hoped to impress the Yan-Di academia with his groundbreaking invention. After a streak of safety incidents though he found himself ostracized. Well, there will be others who see the true value of my research, you know…

NEW DRONE: PATRON

The drone will apply Stealth to your robot as soon as it gets affected by the Blind effect. It won’t save you from damage completely, but with Patron it will be easier to survive until you can aim again.

NEW TURRET: ANTI-JAMMING SUPPORT

This T4 turret for Protection slot removes EMP, Blind, and Suppression from friendly targets and provides them with a temporary immunity to these effects. Installing additional turrets of the same type will increase the immunity duration.

NEW TITAN MODULE: DAMAGE CONTROLLER

A passive defense module that decreases incoming structural "grey" damage and boosts the overall durability of your Titan.

BOOSTER SYSTEM OVERHAUL

We’ve combined all boosters into 3 types: Offensive, Defensive, and Resources. Each of the new boosters includes bonuses from all old boosters of the same type. There are two notable exceptions however: the speed bonus was trasferred from the Offense to the Defense category and the Honor part of the Resource booster was replaced with Gold. New boosters activate automatically when you acquire them and last for 1 battle. Battles where you failed to load into the map or haven’t deployed a bot do not count.

The old boosters in your Storage will convert into new shortly after the release of 8.3. See the table on our website for conversion rules.

TITAN ECONOMY AND BALANCE UPDATE

The last time we revised titan meta was as far back as 7.2 and judging from our meta charts we’ve accumulated quite a few balance outliers since then. We are fixing them with the update 8.3.

THESE CHANGES WILL TAKE PLACE LATER DURING 8.3. WE WILL MAKE A SEPARATE ANNOUNCEMENT IN OUR SOCIAL MEDIA WHEN IT HAPPENS.

First of all, we are tuning down the blinding builds and the new vacuum cannons:
  • Dazzler: -10% damage, reduced ammo (120 → 90), effect accumulation rate lowered
  • Lantern: -5% damage, reduced ammo (120 → 90), effect accumulation rate lowered
  • Gargantua: -10% damage, reduced zone of fire (30' → 27')
  • Pantagruel: reduced zone of fire (30' → 27')

We’re convinced that it’s the Dazzler-Lantern (and Cinder) builds that make Murometz and Luchador so dominant, but just to be sure we’ll give these titans a slight nerf as well to carve space for other competitors:
  • Murometz: reduced Hard Rain duration (8 → 6 sec), reduced extra damage from Core upgrades (25% → 18%)
  • Luchador: reduced Reflector power from the Ultimate Defence ability (91% → 80%), reduced structural damage mitigation from Core upgrades (48% → 35%)
  • Cinder: increased reload time (11.25 → 14 sec)

These buffs will make the life a bit easier for the supports:
  • Heimdall: +10% repair from the Golden Horn ability, +10% damage from the built-in rocket launcher
  • Nodens: +7% durability
  • Self-fix Unit: +15% repair power

And these will provide for a solid long-range combo for Sharanga:
  • Sharanga: reduced cooldown for Full Power ability (10 → 8 sec)
  • Striker: increased ammo (7 → 8), longer reload time (7 → 8 sec), increased damage at full charge (26,650 → 31,860)

We also decided to try and revive the obvious outsiders:
  • Tsar: becomes a titan version of Trident, increased ammo (1 → 3), increased reload time (4 → 12 sec), reduced shot interval (1 → 0.33 sec)
  • Rupture: +10% damage, -10% reload time

And, finally, there is a list of miscellaneous nerfs and buffs as a result of our statistical research:
  • Grom: -10% damage
  • Vengeance: increased reload time (8 → 10 sec), wider aimcone (+10%)
  • Retaliator: reduced reload time (12 → 10 sec), -13% damage
  • Gendarme: reduced reload time (15 → 12 sec)
  • Cuirassier: reduced reload time (15 → 12 sec)
  • Bulava: +15% damage
  • Kisten: +15% damage

We are redistributing a significant part of the equipment to lower tiers. The acquisition and upgrade costs for that equipment will be noticeably reduced. At the same time, we are increasing the upgrade costs of T4 weapons (both existing and future ones), so that the cost better matches the item's place on the power curve.

See the chart below for details.

KHEPRI BALANCE UPDATE

Khepri proved to be too powerful in a close range brawl. We are tuning down its stats so that it has to rely on teammates more. This will hopefully highlight the robots role as a support.
  • Ability damage mitigation: 40% → 33%
  • Ability duration: 15 → 12 sec
  • Ability speed bonus: 20 → 15 km/h
DEADCITY VISUAL UPDATE

We've reworked lighting and textures on Deadcity to bring the map in line with WR Remastered standards.

  • Fixed the Repair Unit expiring faster than intended when working together with Trixie Hope's ability.

EVENT: SPACETECH HEIST
The event will start soon after 8.2 lands on your platform.

At the International SpaceTech Science and Technology Conference you can see the whole world of technical innovations of corporations. However, this year the holiday was overshadowed by a mysterious event - an alarm signal announced an invasion to the station and a threat to all conference participants. What is happening and who is to blame? To find out more, join the investigation! All the details are in the event tasks and in the interface of Operation E.

You will find these new items in Special Deliveries and operations throughout the event:

  • New robot: Seraph
  • New weapons: Blight, Hazard, Decay
  • New pilots: Trixie Hope (Repair/Advanced Repair Unit), Jill Summers (Seraph)
  • Special editions: Freedom Skyros, Freedom Cudgel, Freedom Mace, Freedom Hammer
  • Paintjobs: Liberty Khepri
New robot: Seraph

Seraph was specifically created to fight Titans. The robot activates its weapons in flight, striking enemies with a discharge of electricity. Seraph also has a unique Forcefield defense system. The Forcefield partially blocks received damage, but the defense it provides decreases as the robot takes damage.

Skyward The robot takes off and activates energy weapons that deal damage to several enemies in front of it. The built-in guns deal increased damage against Titans.

Forcefield For the duration of the ability, the robot has protection which partially blocks received damage, the defense level decreases as the incoming damage is blocked.

New weapons: Blight, Hazard, Decay

Radiation guns which fire in short bursts of 3 shots. Each shot following the first deals increased damage of up to 200%.

New pilots: Trixie Hope (Repair/Advanced Repair Unit), Jill Summers (Seraph)

Trixie Hope: Thanks to the Trixie's little assistant, the cooldown of the Repair Unit and the Advanced Repair Unit is reduced by X seconds.

Trixie Hope is the youngest staff member of the Technical Engineering Lab at the SpaceTech Innovative Development Institute. She is always accompanied by Professor, her personal assistant drone. Professor has a special program which will speed up the recharge rate of your active repair modules!

Jill Summers: After the flight, Seraph repairs some of its durability

At first glance, Jill seems to be made of rock. This strong-willed woman has always strived to be the best, and the military academy and family traditions showed her the way how to do it. She tried to be the winner at everything, working towards her great goal step by step. Her great passion was to become the sword and shield of SpaceTech when her moment came. To be the perfect weapon to serve and defend.

NEW FEATURE: LEADERBOARDS

Leaderboards are competitions in which prizes are awarded for completing certain tasks. When you complete Leaderboard tasks, you get points. Upon reaching a certain number of points, you will receive Milestone Rewards. The players who took the first places will receive valuable rewards.

Additional rules:

  • You can claim milestone rewards as soon as you reach them.
  • The rewards for the first places are available to claim only after the Leaderboard is over.
  • You can claim rewards for 24 hours after the Leaderboard ends. If you don't claim them, they will be added to your inventory as soon as the Leaderboard disappears.
