『Free Update Ver.1.08』

SCARLET NEXUS newest free upgrade is available today, it brings a new story mode difficulty: “Very Easy”, aimed at players who want less challenge or want to focus on the intricate story of SCARLET NEXUS.

Teaming up with another JRPG; this upgrade also welcomes new objects from BANDAI NAMCO’s critically acclaimed game Tales of Arise, players can now bring the adorable Hootle and other elements with them on all their future adventures.

And for players who have yet to join the Other Suppression Force, a new story demo is coming soon with the first few chapters of the game and the possibility to keep the save data after purchasing the game.

『New Paid DLC Pack 3 Deployed!』

The “Brain Eater Pack”, 3rd and final DLC of the Season Pass, adds more story content with Episode Karen: Unknown History. Taking place in 1996 in the SCARLET NEXUS’ world, players can witness the lost history of Karen Travers through 4 cutscene episodes unlocked by overcoming challenges. Recall a lost history, that no one but Karen himself knows, from his own perspective.

Among these challenges, the player will have to face a new enemy in the Vision Simulator, introduced in the last update. It is advised to finish both campaigns before taking on this DLC, as the episodes contain spoilers, revealing his true motive.

Players will be able to access 2 newly designed costume sets:

the "Guardian Attire Set" based on Karen’s outfit by concept artist Tamami Ishikawa. Enjoy the majestic and dignified piano-black themed costumes, specially designed for the best psionics out there.
the "Heir Attire Set" by Masakazu Yamashiro, designer of the monsters roaming New Himuka, incorporated with the themes of ancient ethnic costumes in SCARLET NEXUS' world.

Also incorporated in the 3rd DLC, is a new plugin “Status Aliment Resister” directly unlockable from the shop, adding a twist to your next battles.

The incredibly powerful enemy, “Shadow of the Recording“, is appearing in a new mission in the Vision Simulator! Will you stand a chance against him as he makes an onslaught on you with unfair attacks you've never seen before...? Get rare attachments by scoring an S rank in the mission!
To defeat this enemy, it is essential to improve your stats by leveling up, unlocking new actions by increasing the bond level, and increasing the powers of your party members by obtaining powerful weapons and plug-ins.

Scarlet Nexus 2 could be made for a "more mature audience"

It's been over half a year since the release of Scarlet Nexus - the action RPG from the creators of the Tales Of series about a group of superpowered agents - and the director has opened up about a possible sequel to the anime game, suggesting that Scarlet Nexus 2 would be made with a "more mature audience" in mind.

Scarlet Nexus launched in June 2021 and, while the action and the superpower use against bizarre enemies was all fun, it was a deeply flawed game. One of the biggest problems was the story and characters and how it was difficult to engage with that side of the game, with a real disconnect between the combat and the non-combat areas.

In a new interview with Inverse, game director Kenji Anabuki opened up about "the future for the Scarlet Nexus IP" and a possible sequel - and one thing they want to sort out is that disconnect between the various superpowered adventures and the more mundane story side.
