Patch 1.3 featuring keyboard mapping support is here!

We’d like to thank everyone who bought the game, wrote a review, and/ or shared their feedback on the forums - you’re the best.

We take your feedback very seriously and any input you can provide matters and helps us make Okinawa Rush better. So far the community support has been breathtaking and We are truly grateful for all the love our game received!

Onto to the main course - We have for you today the patch 1.3! Among important bug fixes, quality of life changes, and the long-awaited keyboard mapping support, this is a juicy one, and will hopefully elevate Okinawa Rush to the next level!

👊 A lot of people were very vocally disappointed with the lack of an option to change keyboard mapping so we have worked tirelessly to rectify this problem and give you guys what you want - keyboard mapping for both players. You can now change the mapping by choosing *controls* from the title screen then, in the *devices* page, clicking on the keyboard icon with your mouse.

👊 We have removed the invisible wall from the waterfall in stage 4B.

👊 Sacrificing weapons for gold at checkpoints didn’t quite work as we wanted it to - that is to say it only worked in the first 2 stages and removed a life each time you tried it. It should now work properly in every stage. To sacrifice your weapons tap *up*, *down* fast then hold *up* at a checkpoint.

👊 One of the nunchakus in stage 1B disappeared when you picked it up. This is now fixed.

👊 You can now use swords to cut the rope on villagers hanging in cages. We watched people try to do this on stream and realized that it should’ve been a thing so now it is.

👊 Yellow “beholders” in Stage 5B weren’t contributing to combos - they do now.

👊 Meditation was a bit hard to figure out for new players so we’ve streamlined it - the weapon drops immediately when you stand on the candle (but you still have to light it). Also, lighting the candle now properly keeps your combo meter in later stages so you can keep your score bonus.

👊 Kickstarter backer RIKUSYOU has now been added as a villager in the Japanese text mode. Previously there was an issue that prevented them from showing.

Patch 1.2 is here!



Hiya, fighters!


First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who bought the game, wrote a review, and/ or shared their feedback on the forums. We’re taking all of your words into consideration and the amount of support from the community is astounding!

Now then, I’m happy to present you with a 1.2 update for Okinawa Rush. This patch focuses on ironing out small kinks and slightly adjusting the balance. You can read the changelog here:

👊 A few of the Kickstarters were missing in the credits; they are now back in. Sorry about that!
👊 We’ve added a new sign in 4B to remind the players to hit the switch if they missed it.
👊 A small balance change to the Mantis Lord. He took way too much damage from the falling lanterns so we’ve given him a bit more lantern resistance. ;)
👊 Editing the dojo just got a bit more pleasant! Before, when editing the dojo, the items would disappear once you switched the locations. This is now fixed and items stay put regardless of the background.
👊 Exit now actually leaves the game on the PC version.

General info about controls



Hello, fighters!


Thank you to everyone who bought the game and left a review or posted feedback on the forums, you guys rock! Now, part of that feedback pertained to the keyboard support which we’d like to address now.

We haven’t properly communicated this but due to the limitations of the engine we are working in and the problems caused by the general settings in our game, we are not currently able to implement the ability to change the settings on the keyboard without generating additional problems.

[h2]What does this mean? [/h2]

You can freely change the mapping on assigned/connected controllers, while the original keyboard settings are not editable.

[h2]2-Player Mode[/h2]

In 2-player mode, the situation is as follows:
- You need two controllers to operate
- You cannot play with two people on the same keyboard.



We are very sorry if this caused any confusion.

Okinawa Rush has been released! -15% launch discount

You may remember a little thing called the Highscore Quest from last week, where we collected wishlists and certain thresholds unlocked higher launch discounts. Well, thanks to your concerted efforts, we have managed to reach our First Goal (that ensure a -10% release discount) and collect over 250 wishlists in one week, but… because we really love you and we’d like to thank you for your continuing support, we set a release discount at -15% anyway!
