2022 has come to a close and it is time again to look at everything we have accomplished throughout the year, as well as everything we have planned going forward!
2022 in Review
2022 was an amazing year and we are very grateful for all of our users. In 2022 Ironsight saw a lot of new faces with 700,000 new accounts being registered throughout the year, and in total we played almost 5,200,000 rounds together.
Ironsight is never short on weapon variety, and in 2022 6 new weapons were added to Ironsights arsenal with 3 new guns (M5i, UMP45 and RM277) and 3 new melee weapons (Kukri, Skeleton Knife, Stiletto) for everyone to use on the battlefield.
Events
We had a lot of fun this year with our regular seasonal events (Spring, Summer, Halloween, Winter), with upgraded event challenges, rewards, and cosmetics.

In addition we also saw the introduction of new Ranked Event Modes (Sniper Match, Rocket Battle, Pistol Secure Point) which allow everyone to experience Ironsight in a new way and hone their skills with specific weapons and rules. With individual leaderboards and special ranked rewards, we can't wait to see what new modes will be available in the new year!
User Suggestions
Our community has never shown a lack of ideas, suggestions, feedback, and constructive criticism regarding the game and it’s potential. We are always scouring the community channels to see what kind of content or improvements the community wants, and we are very pleased with all of the new additions in 2022 that came from user suggestions. Just to name a few:
- Voice Chat
- Server Selection options for both Custom and Matchmaking games
- Party separation options to enable parties of up to 5
- Adding FFA Mode to Quick Play
- Making the Training M4 an ownable gun that can be equipped at will
- Daily Store
These are just some of the ideas that came from our wonderful community. For those who are not yet a part of our Discord, it is a great place to talk with other fans of the game, get the latest updates, post your own suggestions, and get in touch with members of the Ironsight Team.
Major Updates
2022 was home to 3 major updates, leading up to the newly released Season 11.
Season 8: Space Force
The Space Force update saw the release of the first Drone Skins which allowed users to call in drones with a bit more style! It also introduced the heavily requested skill ‘Ammo Supply’, giving users the ability to resupply whilst they are on a killing spree!
Season 9: MiliTech
The MiliTech update introduced the brand new Robot Custom Character which is able to be customized with various parts that can be earned through achievements or purchased directly. A new ‘Stealth’ skill was added to shield users from the enemies intelligence gathering drones, and the Cheek Pad attachment for Sniper Rifles was also added.
Last but definitely not least, Resource Takeover mode finally made a return after being inactive for some time. We were so happy to be able to bring back this massively requested mode!
Season 10: Treasure Hunter
The final major update for 2022, Treasure Hunter came with perhaps the communities most requested feature, unlockable ‘Nebula’ skins for max level weapons! The lobby was also updated so that party members can see each other and show off their loadouts before joining a match, and Ranked Season 10 included a brand new Ranked Box daily reward which contains a brand new and solo ranked exclusive weapon camo: Aquamarine.

The Future of Ironsight
We have a lot of ideas lined up for the new year, and we would like to share them with you. We have also setup an online Roadmap so that users can keep track of what updates are planned, in development, and completed. This is not a definitive schedule, and there may be some extra surprises along the way that aren’t outlined in the Roadmap, but we will try to keep it as up-to-date as possible!
You can view Ironsights roadmap by
Events and Updates
We plan to continue the schedule of Season Themed Events (Winter, Summer, etc) and hope to make this year’s iterations even more fun, challenging, and rewarding! We also plan to continue releasing major updates via seasons, starting off with the Season 11 update which was released this week! Event Modes will also continue to be introduced, including examples such as Crossbows Only, Knives Only, and Shotguns Only.
Sandbox Features and Maps
In the future we aim to provide more sandbox features for the community to play with, enjoy, and show off their creativity and imagination. For example, a map creation tool that would give users a simple way to create, share, and play on custom maps. We will also be updating current maps with new and improved lighting, and fixing map glitches, exploits and defects.
Clan Improvements
Strengthening the social aspect of Ironsight, and in particular the Clan environment, is something the team is looking into for 2023. Although we do not have any specifics to share at the moment, this could include strengthening clan rewards, improving Clan Wars, the introduction of a clan lobby or village-type feature, and a clan store.
Weapons
Throughout the year we plan on continuing to release new Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapons, as well as adjusting those that have already been released to continually refresh the meta. Additionally, Lethal / Tactical equipment may receive some new special effects, models, and color variations, with some brand new pieces of equipment as well.
Skills/Attachments
The team is excited to add more skills and attachments throughout the year. This includes secondary attachments which were planned for last year but unfortunately were not ready in time. Don’t worry though, they are definitely still coming! Additionally, Sniper Rifle silencers and various other new gadgets to modify your weapons performance are in development so keep an eye out for them in the new year.
Twitch Drops
We are always grateful to all of the people who create content and share Ironsight with other people. We hope to implement Twitch Drops to help the Ironsight Twitch community grow and give users new ways to earn rewards!
Performance and Reliability
Our team will continue to upgrade server reliability and performance, ensure that EAC and our anti-cheating protocols are cutting edge and working efficiently, and continue efforts on improving the netcode and solving any netcode related issues.
Community Engagement
We will continue to collaborate with the community and make improvements to the game with the help of everyone's input! Thank you to everyone who takes the time to send us suggestions and feedback about the game.
We will also strive to further community engagement and reach in 2023 with continued events, competitions and contests, as well as increasing efforts in promotion and marketing to bring Ironsight to a wider audience.
Much, Much More!
This is just scratching the surface for what we have planned so far! We also plan to introduce more loadout slots, the ability to practice in the gun range whilst searching for a match, improved replay functionality, Steam Deck support, animated Titles, Emblems, and Dog Tags, Sprays, more Challenges, Drones, PvE Modes, and more!
We look forward to sharing all of these new updates with you in the future.
From everyone here at the Ironsight Team, thank you!
