Update 2.1.14 introduces a new aircraft, the P-38L Lightning!

This is an experimental configuration of the valiant P-38 that has noticeably increased ground attack capabilities due to additional HVAR rockets. Also, this Lightning will shine anew in aerial combat thanks to three 15 mm machine guns that allow it to engage enemies from further away.

From July 04 (13:20 CEST, UTC +2) to August 01 (13:20 CEST, UTC +2), complete a chain of 25 missions to receive the P-38L Lightning and a decoration set (paint scheme, nose art, emblem) for your new warbird!

Note

• You may skip combat missions of the marathon by purchasing certificates in the Premium Shop, if you play on the EU, NA or ASIA game servers, or using Tokens, if you play on the CIS game server.;
  
• Only Tier IV – X aircraft can take part in the event.

On June 29, from 01:00 PT / 04:00 ET to 05:00 PT / 08:00 ET, the servers will undergo maintenance to deploy Update 2.1.14.

Magpie Supply Crates will be added to the game. They will focus on materials and contain three guaranteed prizes: days of Premium Account, gold, materials, Free XP, consumables, or pilots with five skill points. You can purchase them in the Premium Shop or earn them as a reward for in-game activities.

• P-38L Lightning, an American Tier VI heavy fighter.

This is an experimental configuration of the valiant P-38 that has noticeably increased ground attack capabilities due to additional HVAR rockets. Also, the Lightning has increased potential in aerial combat thanks to three 15 mm machine guns that allow it to engage enemies from further afield.

To earn it, you'll have to take part in the marathon for the P-38L Lightning.



July will bring a new event to World of Warplanes. Complete marathon missions to get multiple prizes, including days of Premium Account, Steel Supply Crates, boosters, and much more. The main reward is the P-38L Lightning, an American Premium heavy fighter.

To speed up your progress through the marathon, you'll be able to skip missions for certificates, if you are playing on the EU, NA or ASIA game servers, or using Tokens, if you are playing on the CIS game server.


Players who complete every mission of the July marathon and receive the main reward will also receive the memorable Test Pilot achievement.

Ever since the launch of World of Warplanes, we made every effort to ensure that the time you spend in-game is pure adrenaline-fueled fun.

We are sad to announce that the World of Warplanes CIS game server will be shut down. The disconnection is scheduled for December 13, 2022, 180 days from now.

Also, from today, June 15, 2022, players with accounts on the CIS game server will no longer be able to make purchases in the World of Warplanes Premium Shop, and players from the Russian Federation or Republic of Belarus will not be able to purchase World of Warplanes bundles on Steam, regardless of the game server they use. However, until the CIS game server closes, you can continue to use in-game assets (Gold, Premium Account, Free XP) and play without any additional restrictions.

We are deeply grateful to all the players who have been with us since the launch, as well as all our newbies! Your ideas and passion for flight have proved invaluable for us on this journey and inspired us to take World of Warplanes to exciting new heights.

More information on the possibilities of transferring your World of Warplanes account from the CIS to the EU server will be released soon, so stay tuned.

The EU, NA and ASIA servers will not be affected by this change.
