eSail Sailing Simulator News

This is a big shout out and thank you to all eSail users. By purchasing and enjoying eSail you enable us to continue to develop eSail. We also have people that give their time to translate, to comment and bug fix, suggest new features and more which is amazing. It is also great to get your stories. If you have any material useful for social media, especially if you have used eSail training for real world sailing, you can message these direct through our website. The support and reaction to eSail Pro has also been brilliant. Thank you so much for contributing and helping to improve eSail!

eSail Pro is the latest add-on for eSail Sailing Simulator. eSail Pro takes the simulator to the next level with advanced instruments, a refillable fuel tank and more.

The new instruments include a fuel gauge which also shows engine hours. The tank size is 15 gallons and can be filled at Port Fogerty on the South of the main Shearwater Island.

There is also an new wind indicator, showing true and apparent wind speed/direction. Below this we have a new autopilot instrument, providing incremental controls and the ability to set the autopilot to the wind. This is very useful when racing, but is a convenience in general sailing too.

eSail Pro enables you to try more advanced sailing such as mooring under sail. And we have also added a Mooring Sandbox where you can set wind speed and direction to practise your mooring. This is supported by two new tutorials covering more advanced mooring techniques and how to get the best out of eSail Pro.

This small update just adds the capability to add the eSail Pro DLC coming soon.

We have a new test release which is the foundation ready for a new eSail Pro DLC.

NOTE 1: This test does not contain any eSail Pro functionality. It should be largely the same as the previous release, except for certain messages to indicate eSail Pro is required for features.

NOTE 2: The DLC is in English only to begin with.

To swap to the Test Beta:

1. Right click on eSail in your Steam client.

2. On the drop down menu click 'Properties'

3. Click on the BETAS tab.

4. Select 'Test - Windows & Mac' branch.

This small update has a new method to try to prevent drop-outs in multiplayer. We have also increased the screen size for keyboard shortcuts to enable longer descriptions in German and Italian.

Note that this multiplayer update is not compatible with older versions, so it is possible that boats may not be visible while users update.
