VAIL 0.7.72 Patch Notes

• Overlay now present when waiting for custom game to start
• When closing the tablet while in a lobby, re-opening it will directly take you to the lobby screen
• Improved outcome when two players attempt to utilize a zipline at the same time

[h3]Ziplines on Maar[/h3]
Too lazy to walk around Maar? Don't you worry...our first iteration of Ziplines have been added to the map. In order to zip around, just walk up to a zipline and grip its handle.

[h3]Minor Changes[/h3]
• In Artifact game mode, when a player dies their screen now fades to black and their audio is muted. This is a temporarily solution to ghosting
• Oculus users can now thumbs up
• Artifact scanner cannot be force grabbed anymore once it is scanning
• Kill feed now shows a grenade icon for frag kills
• Selecting your map in a custom game will now be easier, the map image is part of the selectable area
• Custom game passwords have been changed to 5 digits
• Tweaked bullet casing effect, less shiny and color adapted

• Puddle footstep noises added to Khidi

• Khidi - Adjusted artifact rings to not be offset on B-site
• Khidi - Adjusted A-site rings to not clip into ground and be more visible.
• Volt - Fixed floating spawns and adjusted spawn placement
• Volt - Adjusted collision on concrete barriers to prevent players from hoping on to them
• Este - Made traversing up the broken rubble easier for players,
• Este - Adjusted collision for jacuzzi so player isn't stopped abruptly
• Este - Adjusted collision on flowers/plants to not block grenade damage

• Fixed - Firearm hit effects not playing
• Fixed - Footstep audio can be heard globally when spectating
• Fixed - Unlimited number of tacticals can be holstered to arm
• Fixed - Reticle colors resetting after switching maps
• Fixed - Magazines becoming invisible once inserted into a firearm
• Fixed - Player shadows bleed through floor slabs
• Fixed - Scanner could finish being diffused when the player who started defusing it is dead

[h2]Patch Highlights[/h2]

[h3]Frag and Flash Tacticals[/h3]
Tacticals are important for both casual and competitive play. Since they're so important, both the frag and the flash have been fully refactored and revamped. You now have more control over these baddies by being able to prime them and more precisely plan where and when you want them to detonate. The smoke is still being revamped.

[h3]Player Highlights[/h3]
Due to difficulty seeing players during a match, player highlights have been added to increase visibility. The color of these highlights can be changed in the settings.

[h3]Custom Games[/h3]
Have a rival you have been wanting to 1v1? Or just want to chill with friends in Miru? All of this is now possible with custom games. Custom games allow you to create a lobby with anyone you like, picking the map and mode you want to play.

[h3]The Tablet[/h3]
The tablet has undergone a full UI redesign. It is now closer to what we envision, in terms of look, feel and accessibility

• Enemy player footsteps are now much more distinguishable from local and friendly footsteps
• General player attenuation and mix tweaks
• Artifact Scanner sounds are now mixed and attenuated much better
• Puddle footsteps added. Splish splash!
• Footsteps are much quieter when crouch walking

• Fixed - Finger tracking breaking for other players when they are moving
• Fixed - Virtual Movement Mode not updating
• Fixed - Holstered guns and equipment floating in the air on death
• Fixed - Single-fire mode does not adhere to fire rate limits
• Fixed - Flowers in the armory send you flying
• Fixed - Dropped magazines despawn too quickly
• Fixed - Tablet curser not visible when hovering over an empty area in the tablet
• Fixed - Scanner does not immediately allow you to defuse when grabbing it as REYAB
• Fixed - Colonists can defuse the scanner (Those traitors!)
• Fixed - Footstep audio volume does not change based on player speed
• Fixed - Hard for players to distinguish direction of gunshots
• Fixed - Having a spectator can block players from joining a match
• Fixed - Flashbangs stop blinding players after playing the game for a long duration
• Fixed - Flashbangs blind players no matter what distance they are at
• Fixed - Cannot look away from a flashbang to lessen the blinding effects
• Fixed - Weapon holstering areas too small/large
• Fixed - Clicking 'Exit Game' in a server, instantly kicks you out with no confirmation
• Fixed - Incorrect server password gives you a connection error
• Fixed - When switching your dominant hand, the ammo counter doesn't immediately update until you respawn or change maps
• Fixed - Changing magazine grip mode does not change anything until you respawn or change maps
• Fixed - Oculus Mode Hand gestures are not registered

[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
• When Firearm Hand Swapping is on, trying to swap with the UMP45 can causes it to fly away
• First joining a server will give you a default loadout until you respawn
• Oculus Mode cannot see controllers in spectator
• Smoke coughing will persist until the smoke clears if you die in smoke and respawn
• Spectator controllers have different colors
• Teammate nameplates don't always spawn when a player first joins a lobby
• "Ghost Mag" Magazine glitches in gun when reloaded quickly under high latency to the server

[h2]Patch Highlights[/h2]

[h3]Armory:[/h3] The Armory has had some small improvements, and is currently being revamped. It isn't finished yet, but the construction crews have cleared out for the weekend. Let us know what you think of the changes over on discord!

[h3]Este:[/h3] An updated version of Este has been given Team Deathmatch, which is still work in progress, and we've been getting tons of great feedback on the map. Keep the comments coming!

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
- Spectators will no longer get controllers of different colors, and will always have a left and right controller
- The artifact will respawn back in bounds when thrown out of bounds. (most of the time, if you find spots where it doesn't, please notify us on discord)
- The scanner will no longer block bullets and explosion damage
- Guns will no longer stay highlighted after death
- The line showing where you were shot from on death has been added back in
- A lot of crashes have been fixed and removed, Thank you to all those who send in crash reports.

[h3]Minor Changes[/h3]
- Hand grip poses for many objects have been updated
- Some more props have been added to Miru, to both playable and non playable areas
- Bots have had some changes and are closer to being working again
- The single fire for the Vector has been removed, bringing it in line with all other weapons that only have two firing modes.

[h3]Map Changes[/h3]
- New lighting passes on all maps.
- More Performance Optimizations
- Khidi and Suna have received collision improvements.
- Lightbulb can be holstered.

[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
- Gun sights and mags sometimes visible on players chest when they shouldn't be
- Ammo counter doesn't immediately change sides when switching hand dominance (Must respawn or reload)
- Switching Magazine Grip Mode doesn't immediately change when switching (Must respawn or reload)
- Flashbang has infinite range
- Teammate highlights are sometimes wrong on initial map loading
- After an extended time players can get immune to flashbangs
- Putting in the incorrect server password gives a "Network Error"
- Joining a server gives wrong loadout on first spawn
- Scanner gets duplicated when another player grabs it off of another player
