Official servers wipe
Scheduled official servers wipe
We would like to remind you that all the official servers will have a scheduled wipe this Friday, November 19th.

As you may know, all official PvP servers have regular wipes every 3 weeks to ensure a level playing field and offer a fresh economy with each new round. It's a major event that brings many players to compete with each other, starting from a common point.

Likewise, all official PvE servers will also have their regular wipe on the same day. Unlike the PvP servers, however, PvE servers have their regular scheduled wipes every 6 weeks instead. Feel free to join any of the official PvE servers for a fresh round of economic and technological competition and race to reach the highest faction score on any of the regional PvE servers.

Wipe time: 1 PM by GMT/UTC time (as usual).
For your convenience, here is the local time in the primary time zones we have:
• 7 AM by Central US (CST, GMT-6 winter time)
• 2 PM by Central EU (CET, GMT+1 winter time)
• 16:00 by Russia/Moscow (GMT+3)
• 21:00 by China/Beijing (GMT+8)
• 10 AM by Argentina/Brazil (GMT-3)
• 10 PM by Japan and South Korea (GMT+9)
Does the wipe affects local and community servers?
No. If you are playing on a local server you are not affected (the savegames for local server are stored on your PC). Regular wipes are only performed on official servers and do not affect local servers. If you are playing on a community, modded or a private server you can ask that individual server owner about any possible wipes.
Global PvP changes
We have received a lot of positive feedback about the last Global PvP server round with a number of larger and smaller teams competing almost until the very end of the current cycle and engaging in countless battles. It seems the experiments of this round were successful, so we want to continue building on it and hopefully make this next round even more fun.
One of the most requested changes was further increasing the size of the private factions, so we would like to try this change this round. The faction size limit will be set to 100 during this round.
Additionally, some other teams expressed their interest to join in this wipe cycle, so the competition could become even hotter this time!
If you are going to try your luck joining the Global PvP server you should absolutely join one of several large clans or create your own with your friends, otherwise, you are unlikely to have a chance there! ;)
CryoSmall
As an additional note, the featured PvP community server CryoSmall Europe is wiping this Saturday 20th November (12 PM GMT/UTC). With a strict limit of 2 players per team (no alliances permitted) and reputable administration enforcing this rule, you can have peace of mind that the server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete. By the way, community server CryoSmall North America has been wiped recently (last Saturday) and it's not too late to join it.

R31 Patch #6 / Client Hotfix

=== CryoFall v1.31.8.3 (R31 Patch #6 / Client Hotfix) ===

Fixes:
- Fixed random client crashes related to texture loading.
- Fixed the local server getting stuck when the game client is stopped before the savegame is completely loaded.
- Fixed an issue when switching from a multiplayer server to the local server with server mods prevented it to load.

This is a client-only patch. No server update is necessary and no new server distributive is provided.

Global PvP is back! Important game changes
Scheduled PvP wipe and Global PvP reopening
We would like to remind you that all the official PvP servers will have a scheduled wipe this Friday, October 29th. With this wipe, we're also introducing some important game changes and reopening the Global PvP server.

As you may know, all official PvP servers have regular wipes (every 3 weeks) to ensure a level playing field and offer a fresh economy with each new round. It's a major event that brings many players to compete with each other, starting from a common point.

Wipe time: 1 PM by GMT/UTC time (as usual).
For your convenience, here is the local time in the primary time zones we have:
• 8 AM by Central US (CDT, GMT-5 summer time)
• 3 PM by Central EU (CEST, GMT+2 summer time)
• 16:00 by Russia/Moscow (GMT+3)
• 21:00 by China/Beijing (GMT+8)
• 10 AM by Argentina/Brazil (GMT-3)
• 10 PM by Japan and South Korea (GMT+9)
Major PvP-related improvements
We've just released R31 Patch #5 that improves several gameplay aspects to make PvP fights more dynamic and bring more tactical depth:

- Reworked medical cooldown system: You can now use weapons without restrictions while under medical cooldown. The cooldown itself is slightly longer for primary medicine (such as medkit). It's still not possible to spam medicine and you need to think before using some medicine preemptively as the cooldown may restrict you from using essential medicine (such as stimpack) at the best moment. We would also like to hear your feedback once you try this updated mechanic in the game. We will consider further improvements with the next major update, if necessary.

- New medical cooldown indicator will appear over all medical items you have to make it easier to determine which items you can (or can’t) use at the moment and when the cooldown will expire.

- New bindable shortcuts: "Quick use—Slot #X" (for all hotbar slots from 1 to 9 and 0; available in Options->Input settings, not bound by default so you can select the best key you wish for any slot; you can bind to any keyboard keys as well as side buttons on your mouse intended to navigate back and forward in the web browser).

- T2 rifle fire range increased to match the range of T3-T5 rifles (13 tiles, it was 12 before).

You can read more details in the patch notes for Patch #5.
Global PvP is back!
Global PvP is reintroduced with this wipe! It's hosted in Germany as before, in the OVH datacenter with full protection against DDoS attacks and great ping across major regions of the world with direct routing.

Global PvP is a hardcore PvP server. It will use the following settings:
- 10 members per faction
- full loot (armor will drop)
- vanilla rates (with R31 the game was heavily rebalanced!)
- normal bomb damage (which is the default setting in R31; it was reduced to half in R30)
- faction upgrade cost is reduced by half
- original map
There is also a minor experimental change that was requested frequently: building on meadows is restricted (similarly to how it's restricted in mountains). This change is only a temporary experiment.
CryoSmall
As an additional note, the featured PvP community server CryoSmall Europe is wiping this Saturday 30th October (12 PM GMT/UTC). With a strict limit of 2 players per team (no alliances permitted) and reputable administration enforcing this rule, you can have peace of mind that the server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete. Join CryoSmall Discord to read further details!
CryoFive
As was announced by CryoFive community server's owner, both CryoFive NA and Europe servers will be closed due to the low online number. It will certainly drive more players to play on Global PvP.

R31 Patch #5

=== CryoFall v1.31.8.1 (R31 Patch #5) ===

Improvements:
- Reworked medical cooldown system: You can use weapons without restrictions while under medical cooldown. The cooldown itself is slightly longer for primary medicine (such as medkit). It's still not possible to spam medicine and you need to think before using some medicine preemptively as the cooldown may restrict you from using essential medicine (such as stimpack) at the best moment. We will be happy to hear your feedback once you try this updated mechanic in the game. We will consider further improvements with the next major update, if necessary.
- New medical cooldown indicator will appear over all medicine items you have to make it easier to determine which items you cannot use at the moment and when the cooldown will expire.

Changes:
- T2 rifle fire range increased to match the range of T3-T5 rifles (13 tiles, it was 12 before).
- Increased x2 the chance of finding teleport location data in radtowns/ruins.
- Strenth boost now provides +25% melee damage bonus.
- Events: Increase the number of circles from 2 to 3 for Thumper Migration event when online is 20+.
- Events: Reduced amount of sulfur and slime from Blue Glider fish (as they're caught x5 more often in R31).
- Local server: Removed max base size limitation (Please note: Power generation efficiency will clamp at min 84%).
- Local server PvP: Disabled time gate mechanic in all local server presets—even if you enable PvP there will be no time gates.

Fixes:
- Events: Improved event location selection (sometimes an event appeared with a much lower number of circle areas than usually).
- PvE: Attempting to place a mining charge inside the boss spawn area broke the UI.

If you're hosting a community server, you need to install this patch to allow the updated client to connect. Please follow this guide to update your server: https://wiki.atomictorch.com/CryoFall/Server/Setup#Server_update.2Fupgrade_to_new_version

If you cannot connect to a community server because it's not updated, you can switch to the previous client version in Steam Client. Click with the right mouse button on the game in your Steam library, open Properties, select the BETAS tab, and choose "legacy-r31-1.31.7.2" in the dropdown menu.

R31 Patch #4

=== CryoFall v1.31.7.2 (R31 Patch #4) ===

Changes:
- Items disassembling: Now you can disassemble ammo and grenades on the Tinker table. It's recommended to disassemble a significant number of them at once (similarly to how many are crafted in the recipe).
- Greatly improved the chance of finding a teleport location data item. The algorithm has changed to guarantee that you can obtain one in a reasonable time (look for military/industrial/science crates in radtowns; the chance is one item per 80 crates on average).
- Rebalanced Nemesis mech (mech properties, building costs, and its weapons).
- Very slightly adjusted damage resistances for bosses making energy weapons more viable against them.
- Rebalanced amount of biomaterial provided from Psi grove.
- Local server: Removed network quality indicator when playing in singleplayer mode/from the same PC.

Fixes:
- Community servers/Local server: The signs were missing in the construction menu (they should be disabled only on the official servers).
- PvE servers: Fixed a bug when an item dropped inside the boss spawn area (before the boss has spawned) broke the UI.

If you're hosting a community server, you need to install this patch to allow the updated client to connect. Please follow this guide to update your server: https://wiki.atomictorch.com/CryoFall/Server/Setup#Server_update.2Fupgrade_to_new_version
