R31 Patch #4

=== CryoFall v1.31.7.2 (R31 Patch #4) ===

Changes:
- Items disassembling: Now you can disassemble ammo and grenades on the Tinker table. It's recommended to disassemble a significant number of them at once (similarly to how many are crafted in the recipe).
- Greatly improved the chance of finding a teleport location data item. The algorithm has changed to guarantee that you can obtain one in a reasonable time (look for military/industrial/science crates in radtowns; the chance is one item per 80 crates on average).
- Rebalanced Nemesis mech (mech properties, building costs, and its weapons).
- Very slightly adjusted damage resistances for bosses making energy weapons more viable against them.
- Rebalanced amount of biomaterial provided from Psi grove.
- Local server: Removed network quality indicator when playing in singleplayer mode/from the same PC.

Fixes:
- Community servers/Local server: The signs were missing in the construction menu (they should be disabled only on the official servers).
- PvE servers: Fixed a bug when an item dropped inside the boss spawn area (before the boss has spawned) broke the UI.

If you're hosting a community server, you need to install this patch to allow the updated client to connect. Please follow this guide to update your server: https://wiki.atomictorch.com/CryoFall/Server/Setup#Server_update.2Fupgrade_to_new_version

If you cannot connect to a community server because it's not updated, you can switch to the previous client version in Steam Client. Click with the right mouse button on the game in your Steam library, open Properties, select BETAS tab, and choose "legacy-r31-v0.31.6.12" in the dropdown menu.

R31 Patch #3

=== CryoFall v1.31.6.12 (R31 Patch #3) ===

Changes:
- Steam Achievements are available now when playing on a local server with mods and/or with unpacked Core.cpk.

Fixes:
- Opening vehicle interaction window sometimes broke the UI and required restarting the game.
- Initial local server savegames were not created when Saves folder is missing (likely a rare issue as there were only two reports of it).

This is a client-only patch. No server update is necessary and no new server distributive is provided.

R31 Patch #2

=== CryoFall v1.31.6.9 (R31 Patch #2) ===

Fixes:
- Local server was not accessible (even from the same PC) when it cannot bind to the LAN interface due to firewall restrictions.
- Improved reliability of savegame file writing for the local server.

This is a client-only patch. No server update is necessary and no new server distribution is provided.
CryoFall Dedicated Server availability in Steam
Additionally, we want to let you know that CryoFall Dedicated Server is finally available in Steam as a separate download. You can also download it with SteamCMD (under anonymous login) if you're familiar with it and prefer this way instead of downloading the server distribution directly from our website or using the official Docker image.

With Steam you can also pull small updates instead of downloading the whole server distribution when we release a server patch.

How to access CryoFall Dedicated Server with Steam Client:
1. Launch Steam Client
2. Select LIBRARY tab
3. Click on "ALL" and toggle "Tools"
4. Search for CryoFall Dedicated Server and install it

How to install or update CryoFall Dedicated Server with SteamCMD:
1. launch SteamCMD

app_update 1061710

R31 Patch #1

=== CryoFall v1.31.6.8 (R31 Patch #1) ===

Patch notes:

Changes:
- Official PvE servers: Increased the difficulty of all bosses as well as the amount of loot from them (the setting is fine-tuned for each server to ensure good challenge).
- Introduced a new server setting to restrict building on meadows. Enabling it on the existing servers will break the game for players that have already built their bases there. Due to this limitation, Official PvE servers will restrict building on meadows after the next wipe. If you're hosting a community server and wish to restrict building on meadows, search for "RateStructuresCanBuildOnMeadows" in the ServerRates.config file (currently, it's not exposed in the server rates editor).

Fixes:
- Achievement "Harvest all crops" was provided when any farm plant was gathered (it should be provided when you gather all kinds of crops).
- Welcome message was not displayed after joining the server.

If you're hosting a community server and wish to update, please follow this guide.

R31 "Singleplayer" Update Release

The long-awaited R31 “Singleplayer Update” is finally here!

Everyone on the team worked hard to make this a reality. CryoFall now finally has full local game support where you can create a custom world, configure everything to your liking by selecting one of several game modes (presets), and just enjoy the game in singleplayer or with your friends over LAN or internet via virtual LAN (with software such as Hamachi). If you don’t want to create custom servers you can continue using official or community servers, same as before!

But that is obviously not the only change, so let’s take a look at what else this update has in store for you!

Another major change is the introduction of a proper end-game goal. Now your journey in the world of CryoFall will culminate in finally constructing a means to escape this hostile planet. Building this massive rocket won’t be an easy task as it will require a significant technological foundation and accomplishments, however.

Building the rocket is separated into many individual stages where you first build the launchpad and then slowly, little by little prepare everything for your journey by constructing individual schematics which ultimately enable you to complete this megaproject.
New Game +
After completing the local game you can start a “New Game +” where you keep your existing character with all of the technologies and skills, but start in a fresh world for a different experience where all of the technological advancements are available to you from the start!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Other new content and features
We have also introduced a number of new features and content into the game. One such example you can see above—is the new biological mech called “Nemesis” which uses two new Keinite based weapons that were also introduced in this update.

There are also some new features requested by players such as item recycling at a tinker table, new Steam achievements, along with the new completionist page to track which events you have participated in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Complete rebalancing of the game
Another thing that usually doesn’t get much attention is the complete rebalance of the game! We think it is equally as important as introducing new content. Thanks to the detailed survey we conducted in the summer of this year and massive players' feedback received during that time we have completely reworked practically every aspect of the game progression from skills, technologies, power production, events, and creatures to practically every single building in the game with massive changes which should streamline the gameplay and remove any remaining grind, which is especially important in competitive modes.
Official servers wipe
As was mentioned in our pre-release post, all of the official servers have been wiped and consolidated to offer better player experience in each region thanks to higher online numbers, rather than splitting the playerbase across multiple servers in each region as was the case recently. Additionally, along with the usual PvP server wipes (every 3 weeks), official PvE servers will also have regular wipes every 6 weeks.
If you’d like to learn more please read the previous announcement here:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/829590/view/2940276721136787323
We welcome you to join all the newly started servers with the fresh economy and all of the new stuff introduced by the update!
CryoSmall & CryoFive
Featured community servers CryoSmall and CryoFive have been wiped as well. These are the recommended PvP servers for North America and Europe (there are no official PvP servers in these regions). What makes them so good? A strict limit of 2 (for CryoSmall) or 5 (for CryoFive) players per team, no alliances permitted. You can have peace of mind that the server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete, and if you notice someone violating the rules just make a screenshot and report in CryoSmall Discord.
Legacy support
Even though the R31 update is 100% compatible with the previous R30 version, as usual, we're providing a legacy branch for the previous version client available if you intend to keep using it on a server that is not yet updated to R31. Just open game properties in the Steam Client, navigate to the BETAS tab, and select the "legacy-r30" branch.
