Official PvP servers wipe

It is now time for our regular official PvP servers wipe and this time it should be even more interesting, as there are a lot of new players who joined from Humble Choice (Humble Monthly) and had their first experience in the game. We are expecting Global PvP to be the hottest and most brutal battlefield yet! :)

The following servers were wiped:
• Official Global PvP
• Official America (SA) PvP
• Official China PvP

As before, PvE servers will stay unaffected (no wipe). We wipe them ONLY with major update releases. Private and community servers are also unaffected and their owners will decide if and when they want to wipe them as we have no control over those servers.

Also, servers that have been launched just recently (such as North America PvP and Asia PvP) will not be wiped yet, as they've been operating for only a week and it obviously doesn't make sense to wipe them yet. Instead, they will follow the regular schedule for the next wipe—13 March together with all the official PvP servers.

New official servers!

Greetings!
We are extremely happy to see a huge number of players joining the game in the past few days and in fact, we've just hit a new record—over 1250 players online plus over 500 concurrent demo players! To handle the increased load we are working to deploy more official servers as needed.

These new servers were deployed in the past 24 hours:
PvP
• Official America (NA) PvP—hosted in Los Angeles (USA).
• Official Asia PvP—hosted in Tokyo (Japan).

PvE
• Official Oceania PvE—hosted in Sydney (Australia).
• Official Europe 3 PvE—hosted in Falkenstein (Germany).
• Official China 2 PvE—hosted in Beijing (China).

Please note that you can also host your own CryoFall private or community server or even rent one from a 3rd party provider. You can find detailed information about custom servers here: the details here.

Enjoy the game!

CryoFall is included in Humble Choice February!

We're happy to let you know that CryoFall was chosen among 12 curated games by Humble Bundle for the Humble Choice February!

Humble Choice (formerly Humble Monthly) is a PC game subscription service that allows choosing several games every month from a curated selection of notable titles!

Now that the Humble Choice has launched we're expecting to see many new players joining the game now and during the next few weeks! Since Humble Bundle is mostly popular in western countries we are expecting a lot of players from Europe and North America.

In anticipation of a large increase in player numbers, we are ready to launch new servers as needed! As soon as we notice that the official servers are getting full, we're going to deploy more. The first candidate is the long-awaited and separate Official North America PvP.

Enjoy the game!

A25 Balance Update Release

Originally A25 update was planned for release at the end of February, but after some consideration, we decided why wait when we can release all of the features and improvements right now and just work on remaining features in the next update!

So, what is new this time? As the name of the update implies—it focuses heavily on balancing the game. Since the release of A24 “Mechanized Update” we have received a lot of valuable feedback from players and based on it we were able to implement over 150 changes to make the game more interesting, progression smoother, significantly reduce grind and offer other improvements. There are still things we want to work on in this regard, but we are happy to see that CryoFall slowly inches closer to the way we envisioned it and we hope you will appreciate the improvements!
New content:
• New light mech! Now there are two: light Skipper mech and medium Manul mech.
• Completely new visuals for tropical boar. Players are already lovingly calling him Pumba :)
• Electric cooking stove.
• Projector tower to light up your base and surrounding areas.
• And the most important of all—mineral processing plant! It will help you increase the yield on the ores you have mined, first turning them into ore concentrate before smelting.
Super heavy armor—ideal in defense as it provides a maximum level of protection against all types of damage, though at the cost of severely reduced mobility.
• And more!
Some of the features this time include:
• Wild creatures will react to the player with unique sounds for aggression and fleeing. Furthermore, aggression sounds propagate at quite large distances and you can notice the sound cues on the edge of your screen if the sound is coming from somewhere outside your view area.
• Technology trees have been significantly reworked to reduce dependency between tiers and individual groups. This still leaves a lot of room for specialization but removes most of the annoying situations where you may have needed to unlock some other group to be able to craft a particular item. As long as you unlock primary technologies first, before unlocking specialized technologies you should be good now!
• Improved balance to existing weapons and armor. To be more specific—ammo is now cheaper to craft and armor is rebalanced to give each armor type their unique role. For example, A.P.A.R.T. suit now has much higher protection from heat and psi making it an ideal choice for exploring volcano areas.
Improved network code now offers super-smooth gameplay even at very high ping values but also much less lag even on the low ping. You can really feel the difference!
• Additional improvements to the server performance. Technically it is now possible to run servers with as much as 500 simultaneous players! Though, for the time being, we will limit the official servers for up to 300 players.
• Larger and improved world with more roads and new volcano area (though only for the new servers; the existing servers have to use A24 map as players already have their bases everywhere and it is not possible to change the world map without wiping the server).
• Unlike previous updates, A25 doesn't require servers wipe to update from A24. We have ensured a smooth upgrade from A24!
Please note that the official PvP servers are following a regular 4-weeks wiping cycle which we have announced earlier.

And many more. As always, you can read the full patch notes for A25 update on our forums.

That’s it for the time being. We will continue working on the next version a few more substantial features and additions (especially for PvE servers). Stay tuned and enjoy the A25 update!

Official PvP servers wipe announcement and wiping schedule

To keep the game more exciting and always have something going on we decided to implement a regular wipe schedule for Official PvP servers. Please see the details below, but the general idea is that Official PvP servers will be wiped monthly with last week being run with x2 rates. PvE servers will stay unaffected and will ONLY wipe with major updates release. Private and community servers are also unaffected and their owners will decide if and when they want to wipe them as we have no control over those servers.

  • The next wipe is scheduled on 17 January (Friday) on all the official PvP servers.
  • The wipe interval on all the official PvP servers will be every 4 weeks from now on.
  • Wipe time: 1 PM by GMT/UTC time (as usual). For your convenience, here is the local time in the primary time zones we have:
    • 7 AM by Central US (CST, GMT-6)
    • 10 AM by Argentina/Brazil (GMT-3)
    • 2 PM by Germany (GMT+1)
    • 16:00 by Russia/Moscow (GMT+3)
    • 21:00 by China/Beijing (GMT+8)
    • 10 PM by Japan and South Korea (GMT+9)

For the last week before the wipe, the servers will have x2 rates for items drop, resources gain, skills XP and LP rate, and crafting/manufacturing speed (this time only; for the following wipes we will consider this again based on players feedback). There may be minor variations to rates from time to time to keep the game interesting.

The rates are raised to x2 now on all the official PvP servers until the next wipe.

Global PvP 1 server will include the following changes:
- Friendly fire enabled with 50% damage.
- Spawned Oil/Li capture restriction cooldown reduced from 30 to 20 minutes.
