Hud 2.0

Our first update has gone live on Steam, This update has been in the works for awhile now and we are extremely happy to have it go live.

Hud 2.0
Character Screen - Streamlined and has been optimized for keyboard and mouse.


Inventory has been streamlined to offer a better overview of what your items are and what they do.

Attributes will show you the new Skill Tree


The new skill tree will be affected by your armour that you craft with more in depth systems coming into place with the new crafting system.

Settings now has more options to help you optimise your experience whilst playing DOLMEN

Combat-

Running and using light attack will allow you use the new lunge attack

Running and using heavy attack will initiate a jump attack

Enemies will deal more damage as well as receiving a small increase to their overall health.

Dementula Queen - This encounter has had an overhaul, The Queen has had her health value slightly increased. Dementula Eggs now populate her cave and will spawn young dementula should you go to close.

Drops-

Added new items into drop tables, not all of these will be usable until the new crafting system is in place.

Our base goal has been met!!!! This is such an exciting moment for us, and for you, our community! The first chapter of DOLMEN will be coming to Steam, thanks to all of you! We aren’t finished yet, this is just the beginning and we have an abundance of plans for DOLMEN. Now that we’ve reached our base goal for chapter one, and now we are aiming to reach additional stretch goals that will enable us to add on New Characters and Customizations, New Weapons, More Enemies, Hardcore Mode, Horde Mode Survival Area, Expanded Lore, Lore Compendium, More Levels/Chapters, and so much more!

Our first stretch goal is 2 new weapons. Over the next week, we’ll show you guys some new concept art for these weapons, along with more details about how we envision them being used in-game.



This Wednesday, we will broadcast our second DevStream , hosted by CM Aleksander with Developer Gabriel Neves. During the stream, we will be showing off the new UI and once again answering all of your burning questions about DOLMEN!

Concerning Mechs, Pointy Objects, and Sharing

Day 4 and we are 80% funded, how amazing is that!! Without you, all DOLMEN wouldn’t be moving forward. Today we talk about the melee combat in DOLMEN:

Light Attack

    Light attacks use your stamina slower than using a heavy attack;
    They are great dealing fast amounts of damage before moving away from your target and hitting them again;
    Whilst this may be a good tactic early game you will find yourself struggling if you do not master the use and cost of your attacks, running out of stamina because you have used it all on the burst of attacks will cost you if you need to suddenly dodge or fall back.

    Heavy Attack
      Heavy attacks cost more stamina and deal more damage;
      Heavy attacks are great for a big chunk of damage in a small window but are slow to land so will require you to master the timing and use of them;
      Heavy attacks also offer the added bonus of being able to stagger certain enemies allowing you to land a few quick attacks.

      Blocking
        Your first line of defense;
        Blocking will allow you mitigate a certain amount of damage, ideal for those ranged encounters or when surrounded;
        Note that whilst blocking will mitigate the damage you will still receive damage and use your stamina for every hit received.;
        A well-timed block will also allow you to briefly stun certain enemies opening up an attack window for you to utilize.

        Enhanced Melee
          Those are your basics for melee combat now we turn to utilising energy mode in combat;
          Using energy mode will not only unlock your reactor but will also unlock your melee weapons perk;
          Every melee weapon comes with a perk that requires energy mode to be active;
          For the Zoan Axe (starting weapon) this unlock Shrapnel allowing you cause 25% of the damage caused to your target to a nearby target as well;
          We will delve deeper in energy mode on another update.

          What happened to my steam key?

          You may have noticed that we revoked the steam keys for the older DOLMEN demo which given out with our last Kickstarter. The reason for that is because we’ve been very hard at work building and polishing a brand version DOLMEN demo debuted at Gamescom and we want everyone to experience the newest build instead of the very old and outdated demo previously given out months ago.

We will have Luiz Henrique and Gabriel Neves, two of our extremely talented Programmers joining me CM Aleksander as we talk about the development of DOLMEN past and present. We will also be giving away 2 keys during the stream so make sure to stop and ask them any questions you might have! If you have any questions that you would like answering in the stream feel free to ask away and we will do our best to answer them during the Dev Stream.
