Happy new years everyone!



This is a small update with some minor content inclusions and mostly fixes and quality of life improvements.

Here are the patchnotes!


✓ - New Kozita cooking recipes.
✓ - Happy New Years Mail
✓ - New Stone chests that can be crafted early game and a larger version that can be traded with Pamela.
✓ - The game now displays your steam avatar in the main menu if it successfully connects to steam.
✓ - The game now saves a per-world backup besides the regular backups it already saved before.
✓ - Dragon Fruit Seed bundle and Pineapple Seed Bundle stack to 10
✓ - Dragons now eat Dragon Fruit sometimes besides requesting cuddles.
✓ - Ester now tells players how many easter eggs are left.
✓ - Fixed an edge case that could result in losing items when using the auto-deposit feature
✓ - Dragon Statues now make noise like the chests do.
✓ - Game Audio and music has been updated.
✓ - If you hold down the select button with the gamepad over an item you can now move it like you were clicking it with the mouse.
✓ - Stopped using the "Graphics Jobs System" as it seems to cause random crashes for some people.

✓ - The game now detects corrupted saves and attempts to load previous saves for you if that happens.
✓ - The game now detects if you have mac saves in the old mac saves folder and offers to move them to the new place for you.
✓ - The customers should now stutter less going to the shop table
✓ - Quests now show accept/ not accept options again.
✓ - More performance optimization improvements.
✓ - Fixed an issue in the Cooking Station that prevented it from displaying the grid view.
✓ - Fixed an issue with sprinklers sometimes not watering the plants correctly
✓ - Fixed an issue with abandoning quests.
✓ - Fixed an issue that prevented using shops with the gamepad.
✓ - Fixed an issue that happened when picking up bulletin board quests in multiplayer.
✓ - Fixed an issue that happened when you took the dragon out of the pet slot while flying it.
✓ - Fixed an issue with the bunny treat not showing up after you read the mail from poppy.

This update is packed full of both optimization improvements and content! As we've been working on bringing the game to the Switch we had to take some time to tackle optimizing the game for a different platform, and this update for the PC makes full benefit of that, with considerably lower memory consumption and running much smoother.


The changes made to the gamepad controls for the Switch version have now been implemented into the PC version as well. If you already play the game with a gamepad you'll notice a lot of improvements with all the inventory actions accessible via gamepad.



There are new button shortcuts and a new item selection menu that gives you extra options when handling items including a way of splitting items with precision.

The game now also shows the correct key prompts in the UI based on your controls configuration.



In this new update every winter you might start noticing some nests showing up around the forest. Every day of winter there's a small chance that a Snowy Owl Egg will appear in one of those nests. Picking up an egg starts a new questline with Poppy to build an Egg Hatchery that can be used to hatch Snowy Owl Eggs.



The eggs require to be cuddled once a day for 5 days to hatch into a Baby Snowy Owl. After 10 days of either being cuddled or eating Small Fish, it will mature into a Snowy Owl.

There's a new Boris questline that follows the large storage quest that will unlock a Basket Blueprint. This Basket can be combined with a Snowy Owl to create an Owl Transport Basket.



Owl Baskets can be used to transfer items home. Any item placed in the Owl Basket will be flown to the home chest, this works anywhere even if you're on Kozita! In case the home chest is full the remaining items will attempt delivery at every in-game hour.



The Druid has discovered how to handle Kozita's Thorns and with your help they will start a new questline to get rid of them. This questline will ultimately give you their clothing item, the Leafy Coat.



Once the thorns are gone you'll be able to explore the rest of Kozita, meet the Kozita Miners, the fisher Roe and Mina, the Dragon enthusiast.



Mina is a big fan of Dragons and likes to create and hide Dragon Statues across the island. They will trade any Dragon Statues you find for Dragon-themed decoration items and eventually even Dragon Eggs.

Jasper, the miner, on the other hand is interested in the gems Mina uses to craft those statues and will trade any Dragon statues you find for gems and ores.



There are 20 Dragon Statues scattered around the island each in-game year for you to find. Mina can tell you how many are left for the year if you ask them.





Dragons are a great new addition to the Garden Paws mounts. They're the only mount that can not only glide but also Fly. Every day in Kozita there's a chance a Dragon Egg will be in one of the nests scattered around the island.

There are 5 different Dragon Eggs that you can find in different times of the year. Each season has a dragon egg and there is a rare chance to find a Dark Dragon Egg. Each egg has a few different dragon possibilities that can hatch from it. With some being rarer than others.

Dragon Eggs can be placed in the Egg Hatchery and take 15 days to hatch. Dragon Babies take 25 days to mature.

It's a lot of fun braving the skies of Kozita with the Dragons. When in the air you can press the jump button to fly. The same stamina wheel that appears when you're swimming appears when you're flying, with a wing icon in the center while flying is active.





Dragons aren't the only new animal coming into Garden Paws with the expansion of Kozita Island you'll also find Elephants that you can tame! They can be tamed with Hay and can be used as mounts.





Poppy is back with more breeding treat recipes! With this update the Alpaca, Cow, Fox and Bunnies can all breed adorable colorful new animals!





When you get to year 3 you'll start noticing better loot coming out of the Chests you find around the island. From large stacks of resources to random Decorations or even Animals, you never know what you're going to find when opening one of these new chests.





[h2]Superior Furnace[/h2]
The Superior Furnace can hold stacks of up to 50 at a time as opposed to 10 of the regular furnace, making it easier to set up items to smelt and forget about it going to do other things in the island. This can be obtained through a questline with Beltran in year 2.

[h2]Ghosty[/h2]
Ghosty is an adorable little ghost that follows you around when placed in the Face Slot of your equipment inventory. It can be traded for 25 pumpcoins in Halloween Island

[h2]New Kitsune Fox skins[/h2]
Splash can now sell 3 new Kitsune Fox skin variations, Purple, Green and Blue.

[h2]Flower Sprinkler (In Winter with Pamela)[/h2]
In Winter Pamela can now trade Snow Drops for a Flower Sprinkler, that has the same range of the Gold Sprinkler with a cool flowery visual.

• If you're zoomed in on the map you can now click and drag the map to move the map view around.
  
• Crystal Paw and Birch Glass Shelf are now dyeable
  
• Guitar has been fixed and can now be played again.
  
• Four Christmas sweaters that were missing from Dasher's shop have been added to Dasher's shop.
  
• The Grey ferret can now be placed in the Ferret's Habitat
  
• Music no longer overlaps after you change islands.
  
• Pegasus and Skeleton Horse can now be placed in any stables.
  
• New sand collecting spots have been added closer to the player's house.
  
• Changed the icon on one of the Cat Tabby skins so it doesn't have the same icon as the other cat tabby skin.
  
• Made the shed Item Icons slightly smaller in hopes of fixing an issue with the last row of items not responding to clicks.
  
• Fixed an issue that prevented the animal showing their preferred food above their head when feeding.
  
• Fixed missing colliders in Castle Interior.
  
• Fixed an issue with the "Pick All" button on the Cooking Station
  
• Fixed an issue with the Dungeon Master costume breaking on the Horse and Dragon characters.
  
• Fixed an issue that could prevent bears/beetles from leaving the bear cave
  
• Fixed an issue that could prevent the cat ghost from being tamed.
  

We are excited to say we have added breeding for unique colour and size variants for 3 animals! Once you have reached the first Summer a new quest line with Bruce will be available to begin introducing a new tree to Florens the Passionfruit Tree.

Once you have the Passion Fruit Tree you will be able to work with Frank to build a Breeding Pen and with Poppy to create new breeding treats.

These breeding treats are the key to collecting new colourful cats, chickens and sheep. Once you have the animals in the breeding pen with their treat they will start producing a baby. After a few days you'll have a new baby to raise, if you're lucky it will be in a unique colour.

We can't wait to see how you decorate your Breeding Pens, they can also be painted with the furniture paintbrush!

That's not all! The animals you breed will have a significantly higher sell price in your shop once they have matured.

You can now find a Skeleton Horse for purchase on Halloween Island for 50 Pumpcoins. Don't worry this horse won't send the villagers running.

We have added a few new shirts into Clovis' Shop that were previously only available as dresses. You can now find a Bumblebee Shirt, Blossom Shirt, Deer Shirt, Ladybug Shirt and Rainbow Paw Shirt! There is also a classic white shirt that can be dyed in a variety colours available in the shop.

There is a new Spooky Paintbrush with 9 new designs to paint with and is available on Halloween Island.

If you have Pumpcoins to spare, Petey the Pirate will now take them off your hand and give you Golden Coins in exchange.

• The Outhouse is now a storage unit for Poop and Fertilizer.
• 16 New Quests to complete.
  
• Cats now have a slightly higher chance to drop fish.
  
• There's a new black and brown dog skin.
  
• Thiago updated several parts of the audio of the game.
  
• Potentially fixed a rare bug in the dungeon where the guest sees a different dungeon level from the host.
  
• Fixed a bug that prevented the soap dispenser from being placed in the world.
  
• Fixed a bug with the wrong music playing when you come back from a different island to the main island.

Hope everyone is doing well! We've got a few new items to share with you along with a new mount! This update is relatively small compared to our past updates as we work on the Switch. We'll have big news on the Switch soon.



The next sanctuary to be added to Kozita is the Horse Sanctuary and along with it a very rare horse mount that can only be obtained from completing this sanctuary. We won't post any spoiler-y photos here though in case anyone wants the surprise in game.



There are a few new items in this update including a large floor keyboard that can be walked across to press the musical keys. We have also added a pool that can be painted in several colours with the furniture paintbrush. The blueprints for these can be found at Roman's Blueprint Shop. In this update you'll also find a new TV and Laptop that can be painted!



We know this is a very difficult time with the current COVID situation and send out all our best to everyone with a few new "care" items to Garden Paws. We've sent an in-game letter including the Face Mask and Soap Bottle these can be dyed/painted and can be crafted at the Clothing Workbench and Paint station.

The Soap Bottle has a cute interaction effect that we've also added as a Twitch Integrated command. If anyone in your chat types "soapy" or "clean", (with the "chat effects" enabled), it will create bubbles over your character.







For everyone that has expressed interest in the Potion Paws crossover furniture items and the Ghost Cat we're happy to say we'll be launching Potion Paws on Steam soon. By owning both games, (Potion Paws and Garden Paws), on the same Steam library you'll have access to the furniture set and ghost cat creature in Garden Paws in 1 in-game day.





Just a huge thank you to everyone that has supported us making Garden Paws, it's been our dream project and the community that has grown with it is beyond amazing. We still have lots planned for Garden Paws including the rest of Kozita opening up, Steam Workshop, always improving performance and of course more items and skins.

For this mini update we wanted to add a new crop and some new items to collect. We have done some tweaks and bug fixes as well. Hope you enjoy!

On Kozita island, Herb has new quests that unlock 3 new shop stalls to purchase items. There is the Rose and Lavender Seed Stall, the Tropical Plants Stall and the Garden Furniture Stall.

There are 3 rose colours; red, white and black, these can be planted solo or bundled for two visually different crops. Each can be used to craft the Rose Vase, Rose Trellis and Rose Decoration in their corresponding colours.

A couple days after you have obtained roses, Roman will have a new set of blueprints for you, the Rose Furniture Set. This set includes a Rose Carpet, Rose Table, Rose Chair, Rose Stool, Rose Arch and a Rose Decoration.

There are 12 purchasable tropical plants that range from 500 coins to 10000 coins each. These are only purchasable from Herb on Kozita Island.



Who doesn't need a cute decorative bicycle that can be painted! The back is large enough for a planter or a chest!

The new items included are; Lanterns, Plant Shelf, Stool, Wind Spinner, Sign Board, Plate, Bowl, Pitcher, and more! Herb's shop will give you even more options to decorate your house! Herb also sells a cute new straw hat so you can look even more dapper in the new island!

You can now further decorate your shop! If you have the shop level 5 upgrade you can now toggle the decorations on/off at a new sign located near the tree. The tree beside your shop is no longer invincible, it can be defeated with an axe when your shop is level 5.

The lavender color variations can now be bundled for beautiful bushy colorful lavender gardens. The pineapples can now be bundled as well.

If you were having trouble selecting what to paint with your paintbrushes don't worry! Paintbrushes can now use the object selector to paint with precision!

You can now make Pineapple and Raspberry filling and pie!

Looking to change your shop up? Try placing a table on top of your current shop tables and item shifting them down.

• The lamp posts and outhouse in the world can now be removed with the hammer.
  
• Treasure Map Bottles and Rare Fishing spots have been increased.
  
• Any grammatical errors reported have been corrected.
  
• Some characters walk around and will emote when you fart in front of them.
  
• The toilet and fridge can now be painted.
  
• You can no longer destroy a cooking station or an oven that's in the process of crafting an item.
  
• Picking fruit is slightly faster.
  
• When playing online the password will save so you don't have to enter it each time you create a room.
  
• Fixed an issue that happened when swimming while mounted on an animal
