Moonbreaker Original Soundtrack Out Now

We’re excited to announce that the Moonbreaker Original Soundtrack is available now!

Featuring 23 tracks composed by Steve Pardo, the Moonbreaker soundtrack brings The Reaches to life over one hour and 13 minutes. It is available to purchase ($9.99 USD) on Steam and stream on most music services.

And, as a huge thank you to all of our Early Access supporters, if you purchase Moonbreaker prior to the 1.0 launch (coming in early 2024), you will automatically receive the soundtrack as a gift!

If you already own Moonbreaker, the soundtrack should be available in the soundtracks section of your Steam Library, as well as under additional content on the Moonbreaker library page.

Should the soundtrack not be available in either of those places, head over to the soundtrack listing on the Steam Store, and click the “Play Now” button.

It should then show up as normal in your Steam Library.

We’ll see you in The Reaches,
Moonbreaker Team.

Steam Award Nominations Now Open!

Hello Moonbreakers!

We are ultra excited for the Steam Awards - Every year they surface incredible work in game development across a huge variety of Steam games. There are so many wonderful games, we can't play them all! But the Steam community can. And we love seeing your favorites. We have been fortunate enough to be nominated in years' past for our work on Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. A truly humbling experience!

This year, we encourage you to participate in the Steam Awards - in any capacity! Nominate! Vote! Your nomination is precious, we don't ask for it lightly. Should you choose to nominate us, we would be beyond grateful. Regardless, we can't wait to see what you pick for 2023. You have great taste.

Rising the Ranks Hotfix Released

We just released a Moonbreaker hotfix! 🔥

The hotfix resolves an issue where the game defaulted to the lowest graphics setting for new players.
Existing players will need to restart the game to update to the latest version and manually change their graphics settings.

You can find the specific option by:

 1. Pressing ESC to bring up the menu
 2. Choosing Options
 3. Clicking the Graphics tab to find the Quality setting

If your Quality setting is on Medium, you can switch to a higher preset setting (like Ultra or High) from there.

Overwhelmingly Bricky

Hello Moonbreakers!

It's been an amazing week. It started off with the popular, effusive and miniatures-loving Bricky posting quite a video about Moonbreaker.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

His enthusiasm is infectious and gave the team a big boost of energy. He called out so many things that we've worked super hard on, but weren't sure anyone noticed. Everything from some wild unit abilities, to our unique art style, to the audio dramas and to the build stability. It also gave us a huge boost of players.

All the new traffic led to a lot more reviews, and since the game has gotten so much better, the positive reviews have come flooding in. In fact, yesterday we hit that coveted Overwhelmingly Positive.

This all made us, and the community, very happy. This rating may or may not last, but we'll take it. Once you hit numbers like these, Steam will generally promote your game much more.

There are hundreds of players online right now, so it's much easier to get games, and get good matches. We cannot thank Bricky enough. We're hoping we're having our "Subnautica moment," where streamers start discovering and showing the game. Fingers crossed.
Community Updates
In response, the community has put together a tournament for this weekend. If by the time you read this, it has passed, you can bet the VODs are still there in our Discord. Look for all the details at the signup page, here.

We're not sitting on our laurels though - we've got too much to do. We've got our biggest update yet, coming this summer. We're adding Ranked Play, Roster Perks, a bunch of new Crew, a lore Codex and a new single-player mode.

Finally, our community paint gallery is exploding. Take a look and get inspired by all the incredible techniques people are using and results they're getting.

Looks like the beach may have to wait. But we couldn't be happier.

See you in The Reaches,
Charlie (Game Director)
