Hey Vikings,

Long time no talk - we’re happy to be back with some updates! We have good news to share with you about development and the Midguardians program. Let’s dive right in. :)

A quick update on our team - we’ve been working from home for over a year now, but the game is coming along at an amazing pace. We’ve been feeding our team snacks by mail (seriously, check it out) and our motivation’s never been stronger.

So get ready - the time to battle is on the horizon. The game is coming out in 2021 on PC, PS5 and PS4, and we’ll have more information on a release date soon. And with the big moment coming up, we need your help to build the strongest community group of Vikings out there, to fight the great fight when release arrives - that’s where the Midguardians come in!



What are the Midguardians?

The Midguardians are first and foremost a community group, a place to connect with others who are looking forward to and supporting Tribes of Midgard. It’s for anyone who wants to be more involved in our community. We’re up to over 1000 Midguardians now on our Discord (honestly, a proper Viking army).

The Midguardians are similar to other rewards programs, where you complete actions to earn rewards. These small actions really add up, and help give us the strength necessary to develop Tribes of Midgard.

What’s the benefit of being a Midguardian?

The benefits include rewards such as:

• Being part of a growing community of Vikings
  
• Access to Private Testing phases
  
• Access to exclusive Discord channels
  
• Sneak peeks at new game content
  
• In-game cosmetics
  
• Real-life swag
  
• And more surprises!
  

Besides that, you get to come hang out with an awesome and welcoming group of players!

How does the system work?

Similar to other rewards programs, you’ll earn points for completing actions. We have a handy Discord bot who’s capable of tracking your progress, so you’ll always have an eye on what level you’re at and what rewards you earn.

How to join the Midguardians?

Everything is free and accessible to everyone. However, we ask to apply via a form through our website in order to have you sign an NDA. Unlike our previous test phases, it won’t be possible to stream any private tests. We need your help during these technical tests, for feedback with which to keep improving the game.



Will there be more Open Betas?

We know that you’ve been wanting to play (and that means a lot!), but at the moment as we develop the game, an Open Beta isn’t possible. The Midguardians are a way for us to offer a more controlled technical test, while also giving us the time to keep working on the game.

Some different news today! Since February 2019, we've been sharing a Dev Update, every single week.

After over 70 updates, we realize that this probably isn't the best way to "show" you what we're working on. Not going to lie, sometimes it looked more like a shopping list instead of exciting features.

So, we want to bring you a more visual, impactful way to see new features. We're players too, so we want to bring something that's a bit more "wow", and save the features that we're not quite ready to share yet, and hope they will surprise you. 🙂

This is why we've decided to stop the Weekly Dev Updates as they are now, which don't exactly reflect what we're working on.

We'll always stay in touch, and keep you updated, with the new concept we'll share here soon!
