With only two more days until The Forgotten City launches, we wanted to share with you a little info about the Digital Collector's Edition!

The Forgotten City is a quietly horrifying story about sin and surveillance




couple of hundred years ago, the English philosopher Jeremy Bentham dreamt up an enormously unpleasant method of using architecture to stamp out anti-social behaviour. Bentham called for prison cells to be built around shielded watchtowers, or "panopticons", from which guards could monitor prisoners unobserved. He argued that the pressure of living under steady scrutiny, rather than punishments in themselves, would slowly mould each prisoner into a model citizen. Best of all, Bentham suggested, there doesn't have to actually be a guard in the panopticon for the panopticon to 'work'. After all, the suspicion of being spied on is often more daunting than the certainty...

The Forgotten City release date announced!

After over 4 years in development, The Forgotten City finally has a release date! In case you missed the news from IGN at E3, The Forgotten City will be coming to Steam on 28th July 2021!

To help celebrate this auspicious news we have a short new trailer to give you a taste of what’s to come in our much longer release trailer, coming on the 28th of July.

Time-loop mystery The Forgotten City will release July 28




In The Forgotten City you travel 2,000 years into the past to unravel the events that wiped out an entire Roman city. Helping you solve the mystery is a time loop, which allows you to relive the city's final day over and over again as you investigate. The city is blighted by a curse, and if a single citizen commits a sin, everyone dies. You'll need to explore, talk to citizens, solve puzzles, and even occasionally engage in combat before you get to the bottom of what happened...

It won’t be long until The Forgotten City launches this July, but in the meantime, we’ve prepared a new gameplay preview narrated by voice actor Steven Kelly, who plays the role of Galerius.

In this preview, learn more about the game’s epic story, as well as the team behind it. Leap into a time portal leading two thousand years into the past, and discover a richly detailed ancient Roman city and its colourful inhabitants. Take on a quest given to you by Desius, an unscrupulous merchant, that'll lead you to the Shrine of the goddess Diana to steal an ancient, mythical weapon. Will we complete this heist and make it out alive? You’ll have to watch to find out!
