6/6/20 Development Status Update

Lawless Lands,

Hey everyone!

It's been a busy week for me and I've gotten a lot of work done for the next update. There isn't much left for me to do besides finish up a few features, add a bit more content, work on the main story, and a few more areas, so we'll be fully released in the next few months - right on schedule!

I mainly was stopping by to just let you all know that the next update will likely be out within the next 2 weeks and will pretty much completely finish up the side content and the world map in its entirety, so then I can focus 100% of my development time on the main story and bring a lot more interesting main plot content for everyone to enjoy!

As per the request of several community members, I'm doing a bit more work on roleplay opportunities and specifically adding extra options to many interactions. These actions are going to be less mainstream and allow players to make even more of a "lawless" or "black-souled" character. I already had a lot of opportunities for players to make choices that were not "good", but it definitely could use some more complex flair and content. I've already begun working on it, so soon you'll be able to cause all sorts of mischief. In fact, you just might even have exclusive access to some less-than-reputable organizations in the game to help you get ahead of the curve. ;-)

I completed the final village, Veilneir, and it will be part of the next update. I hopefully will be able to work on the final city, Kalbeck, next week, but I'm working on finalizing a lot of stuff and adding more roleplay content like I mentioned, so it may have to wait a little bit longer.

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who has stuck by me through this project. It has been an absolutely amazing experience, and I cannot believe how much the game has grown and how well it has shaped up so far, if I do say so myself. I'm really hoping people are enjoying it because I have literally poured my soul and mind into this project, just like my previous games. I've put everything I've learned in my almost 6 years of doing this into this project.

I wouldn't be where I am today without all of the love, care, and support of my fantastic community and fans, so I humbly thank you with my fullest and deepest appreciation. You guys have been awesome!

5/26/20 Update 1.5.0 / Demo Update 1.0.5

Hey everyone!

Here's a quick update with some changes and fixes! Alternate resource uses have been added, finally!

Update 1.5.0 Change Log:

Bug Fixes:
-Fixed "Bladed" Weapons not showing up in the Inventory (They were listed as "Blade" by mistake)
-Disabled an unused Region Effect System (Using different method for implementing these) that was redundant
-Fixed Companions being able to learn Skills they inherently knew
-Fixed Special Belts listing that they equipped to the Feet Slot (Even though they equipped to the waist slot)
-Fixed "Deathly Stench" Side Quest not ending properly

Changes & Additions:
-Drastically Improved Performance by limiting the out of Screen Updated Range of Events (FPS Average went from around 47-53 FPS to 53-59 FPS!!!)
-Increased Chance of Repair Hammer Breaking to 5% (From 1%)
-Removed the Region Stepping Effects except for the water splash and changed the Animation Type (This was causing issues with some lag)
-Gear can now be used as emergency medical supplies for 1-3 Vigor healed on the Party (To simulate using makeshift medical equipment like splints, bandages, etc)
-Rations can now be used as emergency food for 2-4 Supplies
-Materials can now be used for emergency equipment repair for 2-4 Scrap (To simulate breaking down some materials for scrap parts to repair equipment)
-Fame can now be used for emergency morale recovery for 1-3 Spirit gained on the Party (To simulate calming your companions and inspiring them)
-Added Splint Item (Same as a bandage but removes crippled instead of bleeding)
-Added Splint Crafting Recipe
-Pharmacist Background now starts with 2 Splints + the Crafting Recipe
-Updated several Shops

Demo Update 1.0.5 Change Log:
Bug Fixes:
-Fixed "Bladed" Weapons not showing up in the Inventory (They were listed as "Blade" by mistake)
-Disabled an unused Region Effect System (Using different method for implementing these) that was redundant
-Fixed Special Belts listing that they equipped to the Feet Slot (Even though they equipped to the waist slot)

NOTE: You need to start a new game if you encounter any issues, especially with quests.

Here's another quick fix for the demo. The issue this patch fixes is from the way the companion system originally was when first built into the game. It will be patched into the main game as well with the next major update.

This is a quick patch for the demo (and the main game will get these changes too for the next update) that addresses a few issues and makes a DRASTIC performance improvement! After a bunch of testing and trial-and-error, I have again improved the performance and stability of the game!

Demo Update 1.0.3 Change Log:
