Hey everyone!

I just wanted to drop by real quick and mention this. Some of you may have noticed a few small updates to Waste Walkers, Disgraced, and Lawless Lands, last night. I was adding a quick menu option to the title screen which will let you check out my other games.

Due to the way Steam detects you being in a game or not, the browser which opened the link to my Steam page was being viewed as the game running, so I'm trying to find a work-around. This is a Steam thing and not directly caused by me because the game is spawning a child process and Steam sees that as part of the game itself. As you can imagine, it's quite annoying. All I wanted to do was link my other work.

I'm currently investigating alternative methods in Ruby to combat this. If you have any suggestions, feel free to post here.

What I've tried:
-Thread.new - Steam still thinks the game is running even if the game closes but the browser remains open
-Fiber.new - Steam still thinks the game is running even if the game closes but the browser remains open

Currently Trying:
Separate Batch File - My thinking is that if I have the game just launch a batch file that separately opens the website, independently of the game running, then Steam won't detect it as the game is still running

Here is a free content update for everyone who owns the base game on Steam! Someone mentioned wanting new monsters in the game, so here they are!

Update 1.8.4 Change Log:

Bug Fixes:
-Fixed a Tile Pathing Issue in Caves

Changes & Additions:
-Added Wight Enemies (Undead)
-Added Wight Enemy Encounters to several Maps
-Added one unique Encounter with Wights at the Battleground Area
-Snowfall Weather Chance has increased roughly 7%
-Slightly updated Loot Tables (added some more stuff to find, thus increasing chances of finding anything)

NOTE: You DON'T need to start a new game.

The Second Soul DLC for Lawless Lands is now released and available!



"The Second Soul DLC allows you to fully customize a second character - exactly like how you can for the main character of the base game - to use as a companion! No longer will you have to face the dangers of the lawless lands alone or with premade companions! Did you wish that you could customize your favorite companion in the past? Now you can!

Features:

• Create a custom companion and fully personalize them however you wish!
  
• The companion has no limitations to usable equipment or skills - build them with your vision in mind!
  
• Works with the skin pack DLCs!
  
• Name and outfits can be changed just like with the main character!
  
• 50 Gold Lords added to your inventory to start them off with equipment, 5 fame, and 50 experience to give them a bit of a boost!
  

PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER TO CREATE THE CHARACTER, YOU MUST SPEAK TO ELTHRED IN THE PYRSHEN STRONGHOLD - IT'S IN THE CITY CENTER! YOU CAN GET THEM ANYTIME YOU WISH! YOU DO NOT NEED TO START A NEW GAME!"
