Rollback Netcode incoming!

Hello everyone!

As part of the final touches on the game, we're now adding rollback multiplayer!
What this means is that the online multiplayer experience will be polished to a degree, where you won't even feel like you're playing online any longer!

As part of this overhaul, we'll also be adding support for the custom scripts you make when modding to be transferrable via the network. This means you'll be able to play online with all of your custom content, even with elements you coded yourself. Cool huh?

Unfortunately, there have been issues with our online multiplayer as of late. And due to us having only one programmer (Gal), we have to dedicate our time and resources towards creating the new overhauled experience. As such the current online servers for the game will be under maintenance a lot and suffer outages.

We hope that this next update will stabilize and enhance your online experience! We're trying to make it as fun as we can!

This beautiful new artwork made by @Aura Miyonautica marks one the final steps of EndCycle's development into a finished game!

This is the big one. A brand-new Roguelike mode featuring a whole game worth of content.

Travel the world of Anikka, explore its sights, listen to the beautiful music, encounter Crimson Force and Azure Shield as their conflict escalates and fight deadly enemies! All from the perspective of any of our characters! This mode will certainly bump up the amount of playtime EndCycle VS offers tremendously!

The game now fully supports the Steam Workshop!

Download mods instantly or even upload them to the workshop with just one-click in-game! We tried making it as easy to use as possible!

The game now also fully supports 64-bit Linux systems! All 5 people of you who have a Linux system: Grab the game and tell us if everything works well please! :)

It just needs some more polish and the finishing touches; Then we'll be ready to launch. We can't give a specific date yet, however stay we'll be posting once its there!

Unfortunately, we decided to scrap Taunts, as we do not have enough time and budget to implement them. We hope you can understand!

The Future Of EndCycle VS

Hello everyone, Gal Axis the project lead / developer of the game here!

As some of you know, I have just finished moving to Norway and will be staying there for 10 months as part of my bachelor studies. While this will not affect the state and goals of the project, the amount of updates and the development speed might drop somewhat. EndCycle VS has always been a passion project of mine, that I had the joy of being able to pursue professionally since we released it on Steam in Early Access.
Since release, the game has come incredibly far. With today's version of EndCycle VS having been almost entirely redesigned, the project has morphed, changed and grown so so much. I want to take a moment and thank you all for your support so far. Your kind steam reviews, discord messages and tweets have meant the world to me and the team. Seeing how much you all love our work has been shocking in the best kind of way to say the least.
Now let's get into the meat of things: If I had to say, the secret dev-version of the project is just about 95% complete! If you are not up-to-speed with all the new additions, I recommend you look through our twitter and check our most-recent posts for a recap of things that will be added with the next update! Here is a short roadmap of the things we will still be adding...
Next update: "Ultra"
  • Unique Ultra Attacks for each of the characters
  • New reworked roguelike-mode
  • 2 new playable characters
  • Full Steam Workshop integration
  • Achievements on both Steam and Android
  • 4 new attacks and 1 new style
  • Tons of balancing changes and sprite reworks

And here are our planned features in the last few updates before we release the game in full capacity:
  • Character-specific Taunts (Online + Offline)
  • 3 new campaigns
  • ~8 new attacks
  • Capture the Flag gamemode
  • ~3 additional characters
  • Improved Netcode and online multiplayer systems

I hope you are looking forward to all of these new features! Now, one last thing I want to mention...

We started looking for a game publisher! In order to bring EndCycle VS to as many people as we can, we want to market the game in a much more professional scope than we have so far. We will ensure that the publisher we will partner up with will not affect our planned features, the monetization or availability of the game on Steam. The publisher will provide us with the necessary skills / reach to bring the game to players all around the world and will also help us with localizing it into different languages! Look forward to more info about that in the future.
