New AI and musics

Hello everyone,

We updated Pawn of the Dead today.



[h3]New features[/h3]
  • The AI of the game is rewritten. Now the AI is able to predict your future moves, which means that the AI became harder. At this point, we are waiting for your feedback.

  • We have 2 new musics for Graveyard and Town scenes. This means that each environment has its own theme.

  • You can change the graphic quality, resolution and V-Sync from the game. Unity's own resolution screen is removed.

  • When Black side loses, you can see Black King and Black Queen flee by teleporting, while the rest of the undead pieces die.

  • We will create the campaign mode's 64 levels after we are sure that the AI satisfies you

  • Black Queen model will be revised

December 2020 News

We keep working on Pawn of the Dead. I have two news.

1. Cinematics are almost completed. Turkish voice acting of Kings and revisions on some animations are all that are left. We published a video of Chapter 2's English cinematic to show you how our cinematics will be like.

2. AI will be improved. Some players enjoyed the current version of AI. But some others (especially chess players) found it too weak. So I have decided to improve it, so that we can target chess players. Casual and Normal difficulty modes will remain the same, Hardcore difficulty mode will have Minimax and alpha-prunning algorithms.

This means that the 64 levels of the campaign mode will need to be remade, because they must be beatable by the players when they play against the new AI.

I am sorry that the game will be delayed because of the new AI, but I want to release the best that Pawn of the Dead can be on full release.

Gothic Ruins: New environment and music

Pawn of the Dead is getting closer to full release.

We have a new environment, Gothic Ruins, and a new music for that environment. It's the second music composed by Uğurcan Orçun (who is also working for TaleWorlds) for Pawn of the Dead.

New Queen animations

We worked on new Queen animations for Pawn of the Dead. White Queen runs on board, while Black Queen teleports herself to distant squares.

Also, I changed the color space to Linear from Gamma in Unity. I hope you like it better now.

July 31, 2020 Update



* We worked on the Castle environment to make it look better
* There are short sounds at the ends of matches that show which side has won the match
* We fixed a few bugs. For example, we weren't getting correct solutions for Casual difficulty, sometimes the game was creating levels that the enemy would win. That bug is fixed.
