FAN'CIE VEER! (Fish Are Nasty, Cake Is Excellent Vektor Evading Emblazed Rapture) News

This is easily the biggest update to FAN'CIE VEER! since I launched it four years ago, back in July of 2018!



Here are the changes made in this update:

- The scoring has completely been reworked to now reward much more based on your current crash combo stream regardless of what level you're on. Your level still plays a part in your crash combo scoring but most of the weight is on how well you're doing crashing through rocks.

- I've added a counter in the background to show you how many seconds you have to crash through your next vektoroid to keep your crash combo streak alive. This is extremely helpful, and definitely help adds excitement and pressure as well to your game!

- The time you're allowed to keep your crash combo streak alive has been drastically reduced from 7 seconds prior to this update to 4.5 seconds in this update! Yes, it's a massive change, but with the counter now clearly visible, this time between combo crashes had to be reduced, or it was just far too easy.. and not challenging at all.

- At the end of each level, you'll be given all new "level difficulty" points based on the average speed of the vektoroids, the number of vektoroids, and the number of vektor fish you encountered.

- Points for collecting cake and milk have been heavily increased.

- Extra life rewards have been changed to 25k, 50k, 100k, 250k and then every 250k thereafter. (Previously this was 10k, 25k, 50k, 100k and every 100k thereafter)

- You're now able to use the TAB key to change the game from full screen to windowed even while paused or in the welcome screen.

- Tabbing to switch between full screen and windowed now gives an audio sound to reflect the change

- The volume slider has been fixed to now work as intended.


While some might think changes this drastic to the scoring might mean a wipe of all the current high scores is needed, I believe that this new update will allow for even higher scores then ever before! Time will tell. ...Where can you place yourself on the high score list with a little practice?

It's been a long time since I've updated my 3rd Steam game "FAN'CIE VEER!" which launched way back in July of 2018. Update 1.06 is definitely an update that will get you flying around much easier and with much more responsive controls than ever before!

- Much faster and more responsive controls than ever before!

- A new lightning style screen border will indicate that you have enough speed to crash through vektoroids (You still need to be the right color)



- Reflecting a bullet off of a vektoroid and into a fish will now net you 10 times the points as opposed to just shooting the fish directly!

* Remember that you use WASD to change your ships color and you want your internal color to be the same color as a vektoroid to shoot or crash through them with your ship..... and that you want your outer ship color to be the same as a vektor fish to shoot them!

- Eating is still vital as if you get too small you'll die and getting bigger means slower movement, but in this update, your size has a less significant impact on your movement speed than ever before.

FAN'CIE VEER! is certainly one of my more under-appreciated games and I am working on a demonstration mode inside the game to allow the computer AI to show how the game can and should be played.

To have the most fun with FAN'CIE VEER!, you'll want to not sit in one spot and simply blast rocks of the opposite color, but rather move your ship with your thrust to make it move fast enough so you see lines on the outside of your ship. Once you get that speed, use your ship and quick timing to blast your ship through rocks of opposite color. Repeat this crashing through rocks process in quick succession and you'll be racking up massive crash combo points as well as having maximum fun too! ..It just takes a little practice!

FAN'CIE VEER! will be seeing an immediate price increase today to the price point I intended since launch more than a year ago when it launched to $2.99 USD. I feel that the value for this game is still extremely high for the action and fun it can deliver!
