Server hotfix

Friends!

After the 0.1.3 update, some players had problems with items in their personal cells. We will restart the servers soon. We hope that the problem will be resolved after this update.
The client update is not required.

Update 0.1.3

Hello Deadsiders!

Finally we've found the bug that was causing server performance degradation over time: in short, some items were created but never destroyed.
We are closely monitoring servers performance and collecting detailed statistics to prevent similar problems from happening in the future.

Other changes & fixes:

- Decreased character's inertia
- Fixed VSD recoil
- Fixed head penetrating geometry in some animations
- Increased unarmed running speed
- Free base modules amount increased to 20
- Decreased knife damage
- Fixed some client crashes

This update will be installed at approx 12pm UTC / 5am PDT

Update 0.1.2

- Server diagnostic system which should help us find and eliminate lags
- Servers are now restarted automatically at 4:00am and 4:00pm, this should help with some lag problems while we are investigating further
- Master-servers fixes and optimizations
- Fixed an issue when player can be blocked by other players on the north SafeZone
- Fixed "object is blocked" error for small decks attached to a big scaffold.
- Fixed private server is shown as official if administrator didn't set their SteamID (https://www.g-portal.com/wiki/en/deadside/)

We'll start installing the update apporox at 1:30pm-2:00pm UTC / 7:30am-8:00am PDT. Please allow up to one hour for all servers to update. After the update you will need to update client in Steam, this can be done by restarting Steam itself.

About performance issues

Deadsiders, thanks for your patience!

We are aware that at the moment you are facing technical issues such as data non-saving at some servers, lags and other bugs.

We are working hard to allocate the source of these issues. Today we are planning to implement the feature, which will allow us to gather more info on strange servers behaviour and fix the problems ASAP.

Stay in touch.

P.S.
Please send all the technical questions and bug reports here:

Patch notes 0.1.1-5189

Hey Deadsiders we've just released another client hotfix that fixes two major problems:

Players with some-non alphanumeric symbols in their names can't connect to servers
Now the issue with # and ? should be resolved

New ping system
A lot of you are complaining about bad pings and slow ServerBrowser.
As we said we didn't expect so many of you jumping on your private servers simultaneously (thank you for that!), and this resulted in a lot of network requests from every client to every live server. I won't go into technical details about TCP and ICMP, but we accidentally made self-DDoS system.
So we dumped the old system and made a new one, which scales very well and is much more stable.

To get this hotfix you need to restart Steam client, which should then download Deadside update autmatically. Also it can be downloaded without restarting Steam, just exit the game and click "Verify integrity of local files" in the game's Properties window (to open it click RMB on the game in the library).

P.S. Also we have four more Brazil servers online!
